So i have a problem.

I work with this 45 year old guy, who is mentally unbalanced. He got in a car accident when he was 17 and was in a coma for a week. Where he works now is basically his last chance at life (his words, not mine) A couple days ago, he got in trouble by one of the managers and when we were all outside at the end of our shift he said he was going to kill him if he makes him lose his job. Somehow the manager found out about this (nobody knows who told him) and now everyone is getting questioned about it.

My problem is, i really don't want to get involved because:

a) If he gets fired, i firmly believe he will try to harm someone (me or anyone else)

b) If not some one else, i think he will try to kill himself. (He's been saying things like "I've already lost my wife and son, this is my last chance in life")

Do i tell them what was said, or do i leave it alone?

I personally would rather he wasn't working at this place anymore simply because he's a terrible worker. He's slow, physically and mentally. He also likes to tell stories about fingering his asshole and saying he should finger his cat. If it was anyone else i would know it was a joke. But I've had quite enough of it.

I know nothing will happen to me but if by chance he does do something to someone, or himself, i don't exactly feel like being the one responsible for it.

But you won't be. You only said what happened thats not doing something awful.

Also in my quest to ever expand my music collection can anyone recomend me some albums by The Roots?

The Tipping Point, Phrenology, and Game Theory are the only ones I have, but they are all good. I'll be seeing the Roots next friday.

You have to tell someone. If he decides to off himself, he might say, What the F, I'll take a few with me. He needs more help than he is getting if he is freely vocalizing these thoughts.

go find a program called "HiJack This." run it. it will tell you everything you would ever need to know about your computer. Then, go register at these forums: [url]http://forums.techguy.org/54-malware-removal-hijackthis-logs/[/url] There, you will take a log from hijack this and post it in a new thread. someone will come along and say "oh, you have ____ virus, remove it by doing this: __________"

thanks bulb. did you get a chance to try out that room mic idea?

Not really, i set up a dynamic in the corner and it picked up the whole kit pretty well and then i was too lazy to try other things and set up the rest of the microphones. I'll experiment today, though.
