As for Rainmaker, I personally like it alot, mainly because of the catchy chorus and intro/outro riff. Plus I've always though the video was really cool.
I love that bit where the woman lays an egg:p

JamJar 05-16-2006 01:19 PM

I prefer the Wildest Dreams video. 3D animation ftw.

Josh 05-16-2006 03:17 PM

i'm uploading the Blaze album now, anyone else who wants it put your email down and i'll send the YSI link out when it's done.

the_uber_penguin 05-16-2006 04:15 PM

Live videos aside, I've never felt Iron Maiden's videos were up to the quality of their music.

RHCP have some good videos (Otherside, Dani California). The MCR video for I'm Not Ok is good too, but Iron Maiden's really could be better. There's so much visual imagery in a lot of them, that could look really good in the video and somehow it's missed, or the video doesn't match the feel of the song. I don't know. Their best video might have to be OOTSP for me.

blue3 05-16-2006 09:02 PM

Did you have to mention MCR? I really don't like that video. I agree with RHCP though.
I would like to point out that Maiden have never done a bad album, period.

ah men to that
I'm yet to hear a studio album of Blaze's, all i've heard is ALAIG and him covering Wild Thing with Wolfsbayne.
I know a place that has every wolfsbane album, so this summer i plan to pick them all up :)

and to LA: you can buy blazes albums seperately off amazon

It's an average video..

Rainmaker is an awesome video.

Rainmaker is probably the only good maiden video, besides man on the edge.
I really cant stand watching their videos, they're just sooooo cheesy. Bruce really cant act. He just starts acting really weird in videos.
I was at a friends house the other day and i should my friend the acoustic version of tears of the dragon, and he really enjoyed it. So (without knowing) i went to bruces site and clicked on the video for abduction, bad move. Bruce ran like a freaking moron in that video. He is a terrible actor. I had to eventually close the video becasue it was just soo embarrsing.

Maiden should just stick to live footage.

Lord Abortion 05-17-2006 08:20 AM

OOoooh....Wolfsbane.

I may well pick up lifestyles of the broke and obscure soon.

 i love the videos, mainly because of the terrible acting and cheesiness:p

Mikesn 05-17-2006 11:15 AM

The Wicker Man video is my favourite. Dunno why, I just like it.

ashman 05-17-2006 12:39 PM

The Wickerman video was actually quite good. Rainmaker one was alright, it seemed a bit artsy fartsy for me :p

They did a video for Out of the Silent Planet? *Goes Youtubing.*

I do agree with you though, most of Maidens videos were really average. I do like Man On Edge, The Wicker Man, and Rainmaker, though. Still, its not like any of them are Sledgehammer or Epic quality (I have yet to see a video that beats those two.)

Edit: Not cool, they edited out the intro for the video of OOTSP! Thats my favorite part.

I didn't like that, but they still keep the outro. I guess they just needed a punchier start to it.

They said they wanted to release The Fallen Angel, but didn't want people throwing themselves out of windows, etc...

crag 05-17-2006 03:51 PM

I hate it when they remove parts from songs, they did it in TAATG too:angry:

rik 05-17-2006 04:06 PM

The Holy Smoke video made me cry.
The Holy Smoke video made me cry.
 i love the part where Steve's playing bass on the back of a tractor.

ashman 05-17-2006 07:38 PM

The OOTSP video, isn't actually them playing it, it's just footage mashed together from the BNW tour

Holy smoke video is great.

Love the bit where Dave is soloing in a river.

Deth 05-17-2006 07:42 PM

That's ones funny for sure. I need to whip out Visions of the Beast again for a laugh.

Aces High and The Wickerman are my favorite videos, even if Wickerman is still cheesy.

ashman 05-17-2006 08:42 PM

<3 Winston Churchill intro to that song

Lord Abortion 05-18-2006 01:49 AM

Holy smoke's video is funny as hell.

Thats becasue TAATG was way too fucking long =/. The video for that made me cringe aswell.

Everone else is so of over the top, and excited then it cuts to dave just standing in the river, it cracked me up.

the_uber_penguin 05-18-2006 01:45 PM

I wonder if that was a reference to the fact that Dave would really look at home at Sidmouth Folk Festival...

Yeah, the part with Steve in a pool playing a tiny plastic guitar was great, too. Come to think of it Holly Smoke is actually one of my least favorite Maiden tunes (the solos are cool, though.) I guess Maiden's just not cut out for writing funny stuff.

Josh 05-18-2006 02:32 PM

i'm having a stupid moment, TAATG is which song?

i haven't really seen many maiden vids.

Mikesn 05-18-2006 02:34 PM

It's The Angel and the Gambler.

Josh 05-18-2006 02:35 PM

that's the one. i like the song, but i've never seen the video.

ITT: discuss how awesome Blood on the World's Hands is. my favourite maiden song of the moment :)
