Atleast you have the money for a new amp.
that's true. if christmas and drugs don't get the best of me. i've spent so much money in the past month it's not even funny.

k do you guys like the Zeppelin song Hot Dog?
i was reading a review of the album In Through the Out Door, and the guy rated it 1/5. i actually love that song, it's so fun and uplifting. i think it's one of the best songs from the album.

gmoneyguy 12-23-2004 01:19 AM

I haven't heard it so I can't say.

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 01:41 AM
I haven't heard it so I can't say.
hm ok.

it's actually more umm..whats the word...i don't wanna say bluegrassy because it isn't like that. but close. most of their other songs had more of a rock or blues feel than this one, plus a few of their more folkish songs. this one is different than those. i can't find a good way to describe it.

but it's got some entertaining lyrics.

"i took her love at seventeen, a little late these days it seems"

jpj 12-23-2004 09:45 AM

Money, The Ocean, Black Dog, Aqualung, Ramble On, Dazed and Confused, and the very tiny portion of The Lemon Song I can play.

By the way I play bass.

Walrus Gumboot 12-23-2004 09:48 AM

The lemon song is all Bass... great bass song, also "what is and what should never be"

Woodstock 12-23-2004 09:54 AM

We have a blizzard here too.

And it is north Ontario.

jpj 12-23-2004 09:56 AM

The weather here is so wierd. Last week it was like 50, but the beginning of this week we had like a high of 20. Now it's 40, but tomorrow we're going to have a high of 16.

Badmoon 12-23-2004 10:31 AM

I meant were I live.

Neil was born and raised in Omeemee Ont. which is in the Northern part.

We got like a foot of snow last night, it's nuts.

My mom got the soundtrack to the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou" from one of her co-workers. It's pretty good. Has anyone seen that movie/ heard the soundtrack?

Badmoon 12-23-2004 10:34 AM

^I love the soundtrack and the movie :).

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 11:18 AM

did you know dylan did a version of that song "man of constant sorrow," i actually think the Soggy Bottom Boys or whoever actually sang it in the movie, did it better.

and way to tell him livewired.

Woodstock 12-23-2004 11:55 AM

I don't have that soundtrack, I heard it was good.

What songs are on it?

jpj 12-23-2004 11:57 AM

That's a pretty good movie, but I've only heard that one song from the soundtrack.

BludgeonySteve 12-23-2004 11:58 AM

BludgeonySteve 12-23-2004 12:09 PM

It sure is.

There is also a really good acoustic song. It is "I'm a man Of Constant Sorrow" but done all on acoustic with no singing. It's by Norman Blake or something.

Done After the Goldrush! THe Reveiw.

it's not stealing, it's borrowing. don't get me started on this.

k i'm sure we've talked about this before, and there have been threads made...but what is everyones favourite led zeppelin song?

i'd have to say Hey Hey What Can I Do, Gallows Pole, or Since I've Been Loving You.

JonG 12-23-2004 01:27 PM

Hey Hey What Can I Do, That's The Way, Over The Hills and Far Away, Bring It On Home

Broken Arrow 12-23-2004 01:29 PM

It changes ever so much but at the time being I say In My Time of Dying, Bring it on Home, When the Levee Breaks and That's The Way.

keep on phishin' 12-23-2004 01:29 PM

Bring It on Home and Kashmir

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 01:59 PM

i prefer their acoustic stuff, but i like it when they play blues songs as well.

does anyone know if Syd Barret was actually a good guitar player? i've heard people say he was amazing, but i've never heard anything too dazzling by him. can anyone clear this up for me and maybe give me a few songs that might showcase his playing?

jpj 12-23-2004 01:59 PM

MY favorite Zep song changes every week. Right now I'm gonna have to go with Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You.

jasmin 12-23-2004 02:06 PM

RadialOpium 12-23-2004 02:07 PM
