Where'd you find that? I can't find it on OiNK...
It's on albumbase.

It's not great, has some moments I guess but is pretty lame for the most part..
did you seriously just suggest Venom?

This Venom:

EDIT - oops I thought you were perriwinkle, my bad man :(
if i was going to get a Paul Westerberg album which one would i get??
14 songs prolly.
http://www.myspace.com/mtgigantic

not bad. The drums on the fourth track are great.
i prefer Abe Froman. all the offshoots of that band end up boring me for some reason.

Glitterati 02-24-2007 02:48 PM

Red House Painters - Ocean Beach

ok but what if the only one i saw at the store was Suicaine Gratification? would that one work too?

Boilermaker 02-24-2007 03:08 PM

Yea, that one is good, but not as good as 14 Songs.

IMO it's hard to go wrong with Westerberg. I'd buy it.

Guillemots - Through The Window Pane

This album is fantastic. Up there with the best of 2006. "Blue Would Still Be Blue" could've been cut for my sake ("If I had you all the stars wouldn't fall from the sky / and the moon wouldn't start to cry" - Come on...), but it's lucky he's a really good singer.

Kyle 02-24-2007 03:10 PM

Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream

Unwound - New Plastic Ideas
Pixies - Come on Pilgrim

Zmev 02-24-2007 04:02 PM

Cows - Whorn

The riff in the back of "A Oven" sounds like "European Son".

J Dilla - Donuts

This is so good.

Zmev 02-24-2007 07:45 PM

Adding entire collection onto RYM.

Oh wait this sucks and is a pain in the ***, not to mention a bad usage of time before work.

sr800bkBassist 02-24-2007 09:23 PM

which Paul Westerberg album has the least country/blues crap on it?
like maybe something more melodic?

YDload 02-24-2007 09:27 PM

country/blues isnt melodic??

sr800bkBassist 02-24-2007 09:40 PM
country/blues isnt melodic??
well, in the sense of the Pleased to Meet Me album, for example, where you have songs like "Alex Chilton", "Can't Hardly Wait", and "Nevermind" where it's just really good melodies, just really strong rock tracks.

and then on that album there are songs like "Shooting Dirty Pool", "IOU" and "I Don't Know" where it's just overly "rockin" and almost cheesy. like it makes me picture a 40 year old guy in sunglasses who tries to grow his hair long even though he's balding and drives a corvette. it justlacks the anthemic sound of songs like "Bastards of Young" where there's no "foot-stompin", just really really powerful music.

Mmm yeah. Especially "Time: The Donut of the Heart". I could listen to that for hours.

Roxy Music - Country Life

Apparently they're releasing a new album this year with the original lineup (including Brian Eno), so I'm definitely looking out for that one.
