Idlewild some more. I had an opportunity to get some passes to cover the Idlewild screening in LA, and I would have been able to do it if it weren't for poor planning. Oh well.
Damn, where was that from?
JB. It's in an annoying double case but it has both the original booklets.

The Residents - Third Reich N Roll, and the other stuff that goes along with it (satisfaction, looser is congruent to weed...). I'm thinking of listening to the entire residents collection in chronological order, starting with the warner bros. album.

I'm listening to In the Aeroplane over the Sea a lot again these days. I don't really know why I like it, and I can understand why many don't, but it's really enjoyable for me.

The Mars Volta - Amputechture

The MCR was on while I was out after Muse ended automatically.

Toys That Kill

The Great Decay 08-16-2006 11:51 AM

Boards of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children

I'm surprised I dug this as much as I did, it made for some good late night listening.

pixiesfanyo 08-16-2006 01:04 PM

Envy - Insomniac Doze

Probably in my top ten of '06.

The Great Decay 08-16-2006 01:10 PM

I just got A Dead Sinking Story the other day, but I have yet to listen to it.

I heard the Myspace post of the Idlewild soundtrack, the one time I'll listen to it before next week when it arrives, and though I can't be said to be digging it yet because I only listened once, I know that I will be digging it intensely when I get it on the most significant day of 2006, August 22nd. That day happens to be the release date of Idlewild, my 19th birthday, and the day when supposedly Iran is going to launch the apocalypse.

Yeah I've read about that. Can't wait.

Phonophani - Phonophani
Coupled with a conversation, this album is making me feel very small and lonely. I think I need to get going.

Idlewild leak for the past 2 days. And the Wildhearts.

Well_Respected_Man 08-16-2006 06:24 PM

Amon Tobin is my recent daggage obsession. The sound is like Portishead making soundtracks to flashy spy/ crime movies like bourne idenity or the italian job. It's amazing to think Supermodified is a sequenced album (To my knowledge). it sounds so real!

Listened to Caetano Veloso - Singles [1968-1981] earlier today. Not bad. Listening to some Minutemen at the moment.

Little Man being Erased 08-16-2006 08:18 PM

Devo - Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!

First listen. But I wasn't really paying attention/couldn't hear it very well, so I guess it's a semi-dig. But I can tell that I will heavily dig it soon.

This evening:

Lambchop - Nixon: their catchiest?
The Handsome Family - Last Days of Wonder: You folks need to listen to more country, this is beautiful.

I'm putting on Chad VanGaalen next per Pixiesfanyo's recommendation.
