a lot of sodom bores me

Morumbar 02-07-2011 02:03 PM

I'm liking M-16 a lot. Persecution Mania reminds me of Bathory, which is cool too.

Listening to Exodus right now. Been a while since I've listened to thrash.
in the sign of evil is awes, second fav sodom album

never listened to tapping the vein
It goes slightly into death metal territory. I think it's they heaviest shit they did, especially the last song on the album called Reincarnation.

chris johnson is the true titan of thrash

Scarch 02-08-2011 08:56 PM

Aspid are my role model.

Stevie 03-23-2011 07:06 AM

listening to coroner's grin for the first time this is pretty bad

ThrashMaster27 05-07-2011 10:17 AM

The solos are pretty good, Tommy never fails on that measure. Grin is Shite though, it's just an album they had to do to get out of the contract.

FatalEnergy 05-07-2011 10:00 PM

Apparently they're playing most of it for their reunion gigs.

Angmar 05-08-2011 02:47 AM

Can't stop listening to Vektor lately, so fucking good.

CocosBeard 05-08-2011 10:16 PM

Can we talk about the most criminally overlooked thrash band? Kreator. I can't stop listening to "Extreme Agression".

south_of_heaven 11 05-08-2011 10:32 PM

Not sure how Kreator is overlooked but ok

CocosBeard 05-08-2011 10:44 PM

I think they're better than half of the "big four". I guess I wish they were held up to that level.

Stevie 05-09-2011 05:30 AM

kreator is far from overlooked

FatalEnergy 05-09-2011 10:22 AM

They're probably the biggest Euro thrash band. Probably because they sold out bad in the 90s and jumped on Arch Enemy's dick in the past decade.

Morumbar 07-12-2012 02:59 PM

So is there any love for the recent thrash revival here on MX? I know some of you guys here are into Municipal Waste, but they never appealed to me.

Any recommendations in the vein of the latest Toxic Holocaust?

Juddybear 07-12-2012 03:23 PM

what don't you like about municipal waste?

Stevie 07-12-2012 03:33 PM

MW is pretty generic to me

i like nu-destruction and nu-exodus though, if that counts

Morumbar 07-13-2012 05:57 AM
what don't you like about municipal waste?
Idk, something about the vocals irks me.

south_of_heaven 11 07-13-2012 08:46 PM

I used to stroke it a lot to pretty much every revival thrash band but idk they don't do much for me anymore (though I still enjoy a handful). You live and learn I guess.

geddylee2 07-13-2012 08:57 PM

most new thrash is boring as hell

DeathGrinder 07-15-2012 05:20 PM

agreed
