Why?

I booked plane tickets for Europe ages ago, but the flight was cancelled. I got a full refund and everything, and they did give me plenty of notice, but I was a procrastinator and didn't try rebooking until today. For Jan 4th. :-/ Obviously all the cheap flights are booked up and to travel even [I]close[/I] to my original dates requires shelling out an extra $500. I guess this is character building and a learning experience and stuff but I seriously am struggling to stay on budget. Ah well. Maybe it's for the best.

EDIT: Oh and did I mention my mum hates using her credit card over the net, thanks to an endless stream of horror stories from current affairs programs. That means I have to spend an hour convincing her to pay for something, which sucks when I am trying to find a good deal.
