They're just more refined and not quite as straightforward. More "mature", I guess you could say. I don't see any reason why someone who likes Onward to Golgotha would dislike their other material though.

Reason I like Stench so much was because it had this old-school-ish Floridian feel going for it in such a clearly new-school sound.

The power metal solos are also a good change of pace :lol:

But is Eric still in the band? One thing i love about stench is the solo's. They are very well executed and sound badass. Stench would probably be my favorite deicide album. Too bad the new one wont be like it :\ or even a step up.

Nvm. Found out that he left the band in 2004. Jack Owen is amazing though.

I didnt think that song was so bad.

Glen's vocals had me in tears they were so bad.

I didnt pay much attention to the vocals as much as the guitar work, but the song pretty much played the same riff the whole song but i liked the solo at the end.

This Arghoslent doesn't do it for me. Maybe it's some of the best stuff out there now but I think it's a bit weak.

I've been obsessed with the new album since it came out...

well i'm not about to jump on the bandwagon.

I don't know why people think there's some sort of bandwagon surrounding everything that gets praise for being good when it's actually good.

Well there is sort of a bandwagon I just don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that it exists because something warrants it rather than something being gimmicky or fitting into some trendy niche. I mean, there is a bandwagon but the band's doing the same thing they always have so some recognition is a good thing.

I agree totally. It becomes a bandwagon because most people bitching at you for, I donno, having your own taste, are expecting you to like this band because they somehow feel compelled to praise something they just discovered.

Like I said, it's a bandwagon but there are some positives to it. It just gets annoying when you fully acknowledge that it's potentially good, just not for you, and you've got kids who found these guys three months ago acting like you're worse off for not liking a band they do.
