Eliminator 04-07-2008 07:48 PM

i used to drum along to breadcrumb trail

dei 04-07-2008 08:20 PM

i've never played air drums because drummers are always in the back hidden behind their kits and when people see photos of the band they're like, who is that? i don't want to be that guy.

YDload 04-07-2008 08:26 PM

yeah you'd rather be the bassist because then people wouldnt even bother to ask. they just wouldnt care

atlatl 04-07-2008 08:30 PM

no, i'd rather be the bassist because bassists are usually black and black is beautiful.

Liebensaft 04-07-2008 08:34 PM

My band has this killer song where instead of just ignoring the low, thumping sounds, they and the audience at our shows demonstrate their appreciation during a pause in the music where there is just a looping dancebeat from my drummer's keyboard playing in the background and everyone dances on me. Then we stop suddenly and jam out the rest of the song. It's cool.

br3ad_man 04-07-2008 10:05 PM

I always air-drum to Spiderland.

perriwinkle 04-07-2008 11:26 PM

i always air drum to the heavy part in Good Morning Captain

like the part with two kicks then two off crashes

god thats like the best drum part in the history of drumsicles

perriwinkle 04-08-2008 01:15 PM

i dont even get it

Liebensaft 04-08-2008 01:31 PM

Does anyone else consciously avoid listening to bands when you're wearing their shirts? I mean, if I'm alone it doesn't bother me as much, but I generally try to avoid it if I'm with other people because I just think it's corny. I dunno.

Tyr 04-08-2008 01:32 PM

I don't have any band shirts, so this isn't really a problem for me.

YDload 04-08-2008 01:33 PM

i dont have any band shirts :-X

perriwinkle 04-08-2008 01:39 PM

i get band shirts at shows sometimes... i have shirts forrr grizzly bear, pinback, sonic youth, built to spill, ummmmmm le loup, and the police

Tyr 04-08-2008 01:41 PM

Band shirts are damn expensive here, so I never bother. And most are ugly anyway.

YDload 04-08-2008 01:42 PM

lol you actually buy shirts at shows. what a waste of money, i bet you buy beer from sporting venues as well.

Liebensaft 04-08-2008 01:43 PM

I sometimes buy shirts at shows. I own a bunch of music-related shirts, and I don't think any cost more than $10-12, which is pretty typical for a t-shirt.

Also, I'd probably bring my own booze to a sporting event if I ever went to them/was old enough to purchase alcohol.

Tyr 04-08-2008 01:47 PM

Almost everything is more expensive here, but shirts at shows are way overpriced.

Liebensaft 04-08-2008 01:48 PM

Weird. Most items purchased at events are priced ridiculously high, but the only time I've ever seen that noticeably happening at a show was when I saw Sonic Youth and the cheapest t-shirt they had was 20 bucks.

Tyr 04-08-2008 01:52 PM

Shirts here typically cost between 200 and 250 SEK at shows. That'd be 30 to 40 USD or thereabout.

Neoteric 04-08-2008 02:00 PM

I would enjoy having more band t-shirts but yeah, they are too expensive.

Eliminator 04-08-2008 02:01 PM

most of mine were under 20
