Scott Herren 02-04-2006 11:16 AM

I just got Damien Rice - O at a garage sale for $2.00.

I saw Fun House for $5.99 two days ago.

I didn't buy it.

And now I'm kicking myself.
I just got Damien Rice - O at a garage sale for $2.00.
That's an especially good deal because, for some reason, that CD costs like $20 everywhere I've seen it.

Scott Herren 02-04-2006 12:31 PM

That's exactly the reason I was rubbing it in.

Moron.
Moron.
Of course, the only reason I didn't buy it was because I didn't have enough cash for that and the latest Bloc Party album.

The NPC 02-04-2006 01:06 PM
Of course, the only reason I didn't buy it was because I didn't have enough cash for that and the latest Bloc Party album.
So you'd buy a Bloc Party album over the Stooges?

Glitterati 02-04-2006 01:16 PM
So you'd buy a Bloc Party album over the Stooges?
So you get sarcasm?

I was already buying some DVDs at the time, anyway.

Not in your case since I know you listen to some pretty shitty bands.

ATM 02-04-2006 03:20 PM

argh RJD2 sold out. I was going to go tonight.

2muchket! 02-04-2006 03:28 PM

Is it worth getting Silent Alarm I've heard loads of good stuff about them but I can't make up my mind whether to get that or London Calling.

ZEROthirtythree 02-04-2006 04:44 PM
argh RJD2 sold out. I was going to go tonight.
Belle & Sebastian sold out too.

br3ad_man 02-04-2006 05:19 PM
Love, love that movie! Underappreciated Solondz flick. Storytelling & Happiness are both wonderful as well. See all of his films if you're a fan of one.
I'll try to get a hold of them, thought that may be difficult. I was quite surprised to see "Dollhouse" sitting on the shelf at my video store. From Dollhouse and reading the synopsis of Palindromes, I get the feeling that Todd Solondz is a very strange man indeed.

Last night I watched Maria Full of Grace. It may well be the best foreign language film I've ever seen and that's a big call.

I put my B/S tickets in the drawer today.

I also got cockblocked, damn.

BillCosby 02-04-2006 08:08 PM

hey npc have you heard of that one band that had one album in 1981 and it was recorded on an answering machine

they had bad haircuts and cheap clothes if that helps

I Was A Kaleidoscope 02-04-2006 08:10 PM

I think they're called The Every Band In 1981.

I've either heard or own most of those albums. Where's the pre 1940s jazz on that list?

Kurtz 02-04-2006 08:17 PM

/me checks out

Godo golly gosh that's a big list. And this is good because I've been getting into jazz for like the past month or so.

///

Any personal favorites Zappa?

That's the list of personal favorites from my 300 album collection :p. But seriously, just pick some names that sound appealing and All-Music them. If it sounds even more appealing based on the review, attack me on soulseek.

The LP did not exist back then. And to me it's all about Ellington, Louis, and Basie back then anyway.

I know that, I just thought you'd list some other artists before 1945. Nevertheless, it's a good one.

ELB is awesome stuff too.

I stuck to a pretty strict definition of jazz. You'll notice that nothing Miles did with his electric ensembles appears, nor does anything like Weather Report or Chick Corea's 70s work.

My friend met him in New York. And he's a big jazz-head so he pretty much shit his pants.

br3ad_man 02-04-2006 09:41 PM

I might not get to go to Tapey's band now. :(
