Jaundice 03-17-2010 09:10 AM

I want to start a supergroup with Thom Yorke, Marilyn Manson and Klaus Schulze

Meatplow 03-17-2010 09:16 AM

I think I heard one of his songs on the OHM compilation.

This Steve Reich composition was probably my favourite find on there.

Nepenthe 03-17-2010 11:47 AM

holy **** air france is like my new favorite music. so beautiful. theyve been described as “post-rave bliss”, “beach foam pop”, and “balearic disco”, although they refer to their music as, “disco dub”. amazing stuff.

Jaundice 03-17-2010 02:27 PM

beach foam pop?

hmm so basically the Gorillaz first album

Nepenthe 03-17-2010 02:30 PM

or no not anything like that at all

Jaundice 03-17-2010 02:31 PM

then im sure it's good and all but it can't quite be beach foam pop if it don't sound like gorillaz

Nepenthe 03-17-2010 02:32 PM

they describe themselves as "disco dub"

Jaundice 03-17-2010 02:33 PM

i'll make a mental note of getting to it after I finish working through Korn, Marilyn Manson, Avril Lavigne and Mindless Self Indulgence discographies

Nepenthe 03-17-2010 02:37 PM

i'll make a mental note of getting to it after I finish middle school

Aaron 03-17-2010 08:57 PM

Can anyone think of any IDM where it's got organic sounding live drums in it?

Meatplow 03-17-2010 09:01 PM

idk why you are just visiting the discographies of Korn and Manson now

Aaron 03-17-2010 09:36 PM

MSI are ****ing soul-destroyingly terrible.
I'd rather listen to Aiden.

Jaundice 03-17-2010 10:44 PM

Meatplow 03-18-2010 04:25 AM

Meatplow 03-18-2010 11:01 PM

listening to Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures

Meatplow 03-18-2010 11:57 PM

The American Dollar's Atlas, perhaps? A post-rock, electronic, ambient sort of thing.

Check out and report back how much you hate -

Whitehouse - Great White Death
Brethren - Savage Inequalities
Super-fast atonal jazz is sir.
It doesn't give me quite the same feeling as PiL, Joy Division, Gang of Four etc.

Meatplow 03-19-2010 04:38 AM

Route One 03-28-2010 02:25 PM

I heard a song from them the other day on a local college radio station, and I thought they were decent. Albums to start off with?

Meatplow 03-28-2010 02:50 PM
