Get Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow! ASAP.

witchxrapist 04-29-2009 04:07 PM

Yes, just look how cute the album art is.

RetiredAt21 04-29-2009 04:07 PM

Do you have to refer to it as "cute"?

Si1v3RfaNg 04-29-2009 04:08 PM

Finished listening to Chaos is Me more carefully, it's good, and the guy has a clean as **** scream. The drummer is talented, but the guitars don't do much for me...

You're nuts, some of those riffs kill.
Do you have to refer to it as "cute"?
Hahaha yes.

Also, quick question.

Am I the only one who notices all of the metalcore riffs You And I has?

Si1v3RfaNg 04-29-2009 04:10 PM

Yeah I mean the riffs are fun, but not really that hard to play, I was mainly focused on the awesome vocals and drums though.

RetiredAt21 04-29-2009 04:11 PM
Hahaha yes.

Yeah they definitely have a shitload of metalcore riffs. Like on Forever Lasts A Moment. I ****ing love that song.

witchxrapist 04-29-2009 04:12 PM

Dude, the beginning of Absence sounds like it'd be in a Prayer For Cleansing song.
Yeah I mean the riffs are fun, but not really that hard to play, I was mainly focused on the awesome vocals and drums though.
Well yeah, nobody's saying Orchid is complex, but they have a really ****ing awesome atmosphere.

RetiredAt21 04-29-2009 04:13 PM

If you dislike Orchid I hate you.

NortherlyNanook 04-29-2009 05:41 PM
Yeah man Between The Buried And Me is like so bad omg.
wasn't saying they suck, just said that because he's retarded for them

Si1v3RfaNg 04-29-2009 05:42 PM

Well I am, I mean their just so damn good.

Morbus 04-29-2009 05:53 PM
Hahaha you like screamo now.
I've been listening to Orchid, CTTS and Envy for awhile now I'm just not that deep into the genre.

Danger Zone 04-29-2009 06:05 PM

Can anyone recommend me a metalcore/screamo/*core band that will get me into the genre? I've been trying pretty hard to get into something, but the dissonance and chaotic-ness of it just turns me away.

I listen mostly to traditional/power/old school death and I'm trying to diversify but I just can't. Keep in mind I listened to Jane Doe and couldn't get into at all.

EDIT: really meant to put that in the suggestions thread...

SnackaryBinx 04-29-2009 06:11 PM

editing to Gospel- The Moon is a Dead World

gaslightanthem 04-29-2009 06:28 PM

Gospel - The Moon is a Dead World

start with that

NortherlyNanook 04-29-2009 06:30 PM

that's probably one the best albums to get into the genre with for anyone who likes prog-related stuff

whiteminority 04-29-2009 07:15 PM
I'm talking strctly albums, not EP's, so yeah shortest.
Canada Songs is an LP proper, so yeah not the shortest.

what album is that? i cant find what you quoted in the past 10 pages idk

rasputin 04-30-2009 01:03 AM

from the post above the one i quoted, Gospel - The Moon is a Dead World

hismajestythepope 04-30-2009 01:09 AM

okay ctrl+f is failing me

gospel is mad overrated though

paper tygon is the only song that really stands out

rasputin 04-30-2009 01:10 AM

well, i'd agree with you that they're rated very highly, but i think with good reason

hismajestythepope 04-30-2009 01:20 AM

i like them, dont get me wrong

but theyre nowhere near as good as a lot of stuff in the genre idk

DBlitz 04-30-2009 01:52 AM

they're one of my favourites, i guess my favourites seem to be the more accessible ones

hismajestythepope 04-30-2009 02:03 AM

my top 5 would be like

orchid
sed non satiata
score one for safety
envy
love lost but not forgotten

DBlitz 04-30-2009 02:08 AM

sed non satiata
gospel
circle takes the square
kidcrash
off minor

christsimpson 04-30-2009 02:09 AM

anyone say skramz?

Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson
Make It A Dead One
rest of my life (first album)
Swing Kids
Saetia

(could add three hundred more because all screamo is good)

DBlitz 04-30-2009 02:17 AM

only heard saetia from that

christsimpson 04-30-2009 02:20 AM

how can you not have heard Swing Kids? they are maybe the band that perfected the screamo sound. you need to hear them. YPoFH and roml can be downloaded for free from http://thatspunk.linustorvaldsfacts.com/. be sure to get the *first* roml album though (s/t). the others are not very screamo. that is, if you are interested in hearing them at all, of course. hah.

DBlitz 04-30-2009 02:35 AM

i'll check 'em out

that site needs a search function though, i don't want to go through "really noisy emo" "not that noisy emo" "noisy emo" "quiet emo" etc
