I dont go a day without washing my hair, but because of that habbit it kills my color.
You should just shampoo every other day, and just use conditioner on the non-shampoo days. Trust me, I'm an expert.

cheeser_1 05-21-2005 08:14 PM
cheeser isnt hating homophobes just as bad as homophobes hating gays? no sarcasm just wondering
i don't hate homophobes. i think they're idiots, and i hate the fact that they're ignorant tools of social control and all that bullshit. but i value them, as people, no less than anyone else, and while i would not choose to associate with them and would attempt to educate and rebuke them, that doesn't mean i hate them.

on the other hand, that could still be a crock of shit, i'll admit that. fred phelps claims that converting, beating, and even killing gays is what god wants and that it is okay, because attacking or killing a gay person is a sign that you love them more than anyone else ever will. i'm not even kidding. (dont' know fred phelps? look him up, he's a whack-job.)

but there is a difference. judging people because of their sexual preferences is ridiculous. judging people because they are ignorant, violent, hurtful, negative people is a whole different matter, and that judgement seems warranted in some sense.
just use conditioner on the non-shampoo days.
yes. great advice, for any kind of showering habits. if you're in there, you may as well condition it. conditioner is almost never bad for your hair, no matter how frequently you use it. i shower once or twice a week, but i only wash my hair once a month, at the most. but i try to condition it every time.
I still need to make my Johnny Cash patch, made the stencil. But I need to buy spray white paint, I only have black and don't feel like using a brush.
There is this store where i live and they sell spray paint for really cheap but you have to be over 18, its so pathetic. I had to go and buy some at this other store and it was more expensive. That pissed me off.

Flagjacket 05-21-2005 10:24 PM

Here, you can buy spray paint at Dollar General. Except every time I go there, I seem to get kicked out one way or another.

Brain Toad 05-21-2005 10:44 PM

I meant spray fabric paint, dont need to be 18 to buy that.

Rise Me Up 05-21-2005 10:45 PM

Why do you have to be 18 to pay spraypaint anyway?

Brain Toad 05-21-2005 10:48 PM
Why do you have to be 18 to pay spraypaint anyway?
Prevent tagging and/or huffing

Rise Me Up 05-21-2005 10:49 PM

Oh,I've never bben asked about buying it before, but it may vary from state to state.

white_riot 05-21-2005 10:52 PM

Well I could buy it at one place but not the other.

does it hold up in the wash?

Brain Toad 05-21-2005 10:55 PM
does it hold up in the wash?
Haven't tried it on anything, but I don't wash my jacket per-se. I get those little dryer sheets that lets you dry clean at home and clean it that way. Prevents rusting on the studs and the washing machine from violently ripping patches off.

*nod*

i found alot of nice clothes in the trash this year (ever year everybody but the foreign kids and poor kids like me move home). i was thinking today of what i could do to jazz them up. not that i'd necessarily need to wash these clothes alot, i don't approve of excessive cleanliness. but i'm sure i'll figure something out.

oitotheworld 05-22-2005 07:47 AM

[like the other guy i think it would be cool to have diy shorts, may be ill do that]
I got a pair of dickies shorts becuase they are the cheepest ones i could find. I ripped off all the dickies logos, then put on my patches. I got the loose fit by accident though whcih are huge, so i ended up sewing them a little and now they look better. i'm trying to find some zippers to put on them too.

oitotheworld 05-22-2005 07:51 AM

okay i give up... how the hell do you quote stuff?

cheeser_1 05-22-2005 02:06 PM

there's a button at the bottom right of every post that says "reply"

this will bring up the posting page, with the quoted text read to go. just type your response after the text that's already in the response box.

Dickies cost too much, get walmart brand/ generic stuff.

walmart clothes suck, I don't care who you are.

Brain Toad 05-22-2005 08:16 PM

Buying from Wal Mart is unpunk.

Dickies may be more money, but will last you longer and you wont be supporting the destruction of your own city's economy.

buying from walmart defies common sense, forget about what's punk or not. it's ridiculous. that store is disgusting, that corporation makes me want to stab out my own fucking eyes. it's terrible.

I bet I hate them more than you :p

Because of them:
My dad had to close his own store, which was his dream
My town has no small businesses
We are failing

And now they are putting in a super center a few miles away in the next town, which is tiny, probably about a 10,000 pop. This will close ours, Buuuuut, they are trying to put a super center here, 5 miles away from the other one, on the same road! Luckily our city is not letting them. They are also trying to put a supercenter in nearly every city in my county (which is 7 cities)

Oh, I loathe them.

SantaDuJuan 05-22-2005 09:35 PM

Wow, that's suckness to the max.
I bought a jean jacket from them once.
It was cheap.

cheeser_1 05-22-2005 09:53 PM

the problem is that it costs you more, you just don't see it because you think you're getting great deals every day.

SantaDuJuan 05-22-2005 09:59 PM

Yeah, but I liked the jacket.

Brain Toad 05-22-2005 10:11 PM

Back to the topic of DIY. I found a cheap denim vest online. I will probably order it soon and start work on customising it, since it is getting too hot for my jacket.

I stole seeds from them today because I'm gonna go guerilla gardening next time I'm bored.

Wal-Mart is my friend

Do you just put patches on your jacket or do you paint it.

Brain Toad 05-22-2005 10:25 PM
Do you just put patches on your jacket or do you paint it.
My current jacket has mostly patches. I did paint a checkerboard strip on the back, and I have a few studs on the coller and shoulder strap things.
guerilla gardening
i don't know what that is, but i want to do it.

Surf Q. Hardcore 05-23-2005 09:05 AM

my jacket is mostly patches apart from the huge bad religion cross on the back, that was origionally on a tshirt that i shrunk, so instead of trowing it away i sewed it on my jacket

also theres a huge rip, from when i feel out of a tree, that i fastened up with resistors treaded through and soldered together on the back, looks like its stiched up with crome wire and restistors

this has been answered a thousand times before proably, but what would you use to paint on a denim jacket?

Surf Q. Hardcore 05-23-2005 02:35 PM

this kinds kinda stupid but last patch i made a made it out of denim and i have no fabric paint so, i covered it in duct tape, cut out the design with a knife and filled it in with enamel (model) paint, leave to dry and peel off the duct tape it worked really well for mine

Fabric paint? I'm not sure. That will probably work.

My current jacket is a military style coat, but I used fabric paint, and sharpies.

Whoa, I didn't even think about stuff like that. That sucks, I guess I'll actually start buying clothes from smaller shops and more small shops. Thanks, thats made me think a lot about some stuff.

EDIT: " My current jacket is a military style coat" where do you get those without paying too much?

Brain Toad 05-23-2005 08:25 PM

I got mine at Target, on clearance for $7. There isn't many of those left. You can get actual military jackets from most surplus stores.

oitotheworld 05-23-2005 08:50 PM

not trying to be a smartass, but whats the difference between target and walmart? I don't live near and big stores like that so i don't buy from them anyway, but i just didn't know which stores are worth staying away from

IFlogMyMolly16 05-23-2005 08:54 PM

They are basically the same thing in that sense.

Target has cuter purses though...

Brain Toad 05-23-2005 09:04 PM

There are similar and different.

Both are discounted department stores, meaning their prices are lower than say Sears and such.

The main difference is that Wal Mart drives down their prices to so low no one can compete with them, therefore driving out other business and destroying local economy.

What I've noticed with Target is they keep their prices low, but not so low they are killing competition, smart enough to keep the prices low, dumb enough not to lower them more. They also clearance a LOT of things, so you can get stuff really cheap, like with my jacket.

I've never the negative effects of a Wal Mart happen to a town where a Target is.

What about K-mart? Or maybe Marshalls?

Brain Toad 05-23-2005 09:08 PM

K-Mart, I don't bother with K-Mart myself. Not because of corporate evilness, because the stores are usually really disgusting, unkempt, and the people unpleasant.

And Marshall's I think is only clothes, not sure though, never really been to the one here.
