I love the album Deliverance!
I think it has to be Opeth's heaviest album. This is creepy...I've listened to this many times and it seems really acurate. At the end of By The Pain I See In Others, A recorded session of Akerfeldt is played backwards... "Htaed otni yaw eht dael Won resolc Peels rof gnol Gnivael dna Yawa gnidaf Tuohtiw Od Nac I Tahw Em Gniwohs Thgil Laerehte Raeppasid Dna Edaf Sruoloc Ecnart Gnihtoos" Read that backwards.
What are those lyrics from? I heard a rumor that those were from a song by Opeth. |

You're not very bright are you? |
You're not very bright are you?
I thought it was from an older song by them because I read about that on another forum some time. I read them backwards aand I didn't instantly remember what they were from. Sorry? I'll listen to that song a little later to check it out. EDIT- and that did seem really dumb when I said "a song by Opeth"... What I meant was an older song, sorry. |

Enjoy. :)
That was good man, thanks but I wanted to see more Blackwater Park stuff... |
Those are pretty cool backward lyrics. I can't write like that.
|
Write them out forwards first, then copy them backwards. ;)

Can someone tell me if it's possible to save this on my computer? And how? It opens in Windows media player and I can't find any save options besides save playlist. |
I really can't get into MAYH...
I don't know why.
Yeah, it took me awhile to really get into it, but now I love it. I think it's great how each song kind of flows into the next. It's almost like you're listening to one continuous song. |

Blackwater Park or Still Life.
|
got deliverence and love it

2Stranger, you said a while back you converted A Fair Judgement from the DVD to an audio file, how do you do that?
hello, I haven't posted here in a long long time, just by chance I saw your post. but anyways: a friend of mine sent me a program called DVD audio ripper, and it allows you to rip dvd's (entirely, and a mp3 files) it just takes very very long to get them ripped but it's worth it. it's awesome, great Opeth recordings at 192 kbs bit rate. well, and actually, I have the entire dvd ripped as mp3 files, including the documentary. if you're having trouble finding the program (which should be floating around somewhere on p2p though) contact me on msn, and I'll hook you up with some sings. cheers! |

Enjoy. :)
 That was great! |
Anyone that likes Opeth will most likely enjoy Ensiferum as well. You guys may already know them, but they are great. Not quite as good as Opeth but still a very good death/folkish metal band.
Ok, so the deal with RoadRunner is now official.
That make me kinda nervous. I look forward to hear some new material. |
Meh.I have faith in the guys.Im sure this wont stop them from making quality music.RR is very aware of their huge fanbase, so they wont touch them musically.Anyway.....heres the Blabbermouth article:
As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported on April 18, OPETH mainman Mikael Åkerfeldt has now officially confirmed to MTV.com that the band have finalized a deal with New York's Roadrunner Records, bolstering an imposing roster that already includes KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, SLIPKNOT, OBITUARY and CRADLE OF FILTH. Åkerfeldt disclosed several details about the band's forthcoming, self-produced opus. The follow-up to 2003's acoustic masterpiece, "****ation", and OPETH's first disc in years without producer Steve Wilson, the album will include "Ghost of Tradition", "The Baying of the Hounds" and "Isolation Years". "Musically, '****ation' was an experiment for us," Åkerfeldt told MTV.com. "It also helped us to develop our sound. So this time around, you can say the overall record is going to be heavy-sounding. There's also a couple of songs that are more in the style of '****ation', so to speak. We also have a new member in the band, our keyboard player, Per Wiberg. So we have some vintage keyboards this time around on the heavy material as well. Overall, this one is heavy." Åkerfeldt said OPETH will finish the record before month's end and expect to release it as early as late August. He also said they'll play some new material this summer as part of the inaugural Sounds of the Underground tour. "We've never done anything like [a festival tour] before, but this is a new thing, so we're excited," he said. "It's a good chance to reach out to people who've never heard from us. I'm also looking forward to seeing STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and CLUTCH perform. Many of the bands on the tour I've never heard of." |
im going a little off topic guys but do you think i would like them? i listen to stuff like tool and dream theater, but if they have one of the growler dudes as a lead singer count me out already. im also having a hard time to find any music online from them to stream, any suggestions?
sorry this question sounds retarded but......ah oh well |
As long as Opeth doesn't change their style JUST to make money, I'm ok with them on RR.
|

sorry this question sounds retarded but......ah oh well
:( If you're that opposed to growling, then most of their stuff might not be for you. You may enjoy the Dam nation album, however, as it is all clean vocals. |

sorry this question sounds retarded but......ah oh well
I used to HATE growling until i began listening to Opeth. You just have to give it time. Now they are one of my favourite bands. I think one of their fan sites has streams of some of their songs. Just type Opeth into google and go through, you will probably find something. :thumb: |
