Blink 182 and Delirious were nearly all I listened to for the last 2 weeks. Once or twice I listened to Sigur Ros, Moby, QOTSA and Nick Cave.

Kyuss - Blues For The Red Sun
Tracy Chapman - Self Titled
The Veils - The Runaway Found
Hey, someone else into The Veils. Great band, excellent album.

I recently got:
Kings of Leon - Aha, Shake, Heartbreak
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing

So I've been diggin' those. Aha, Shake has blown me away. Excellent album.

Tapeworm 12-14-2004 07:32 AM

I just bought:

The Cure - The Head on the Door
Joy Division - Closer
Rob Dougan - Furious Angels
The Bronx - The Bronx

Does anybody else dig Rob D? The album is one of the best trip hop style albums I've ever heard.

Tomahawk 12-14-2004 07:42 AM

I like that song that he has that is in every movie trailer.

Tapeworm 12-14-2004 07:46 AM

Yeah, well he sings on most of the tracks on the album. It is so great, i'm gunna make a thread about him.

Really?

Because I fucking hate that Kings of Leon song they've been playing on JJJ lately. I dunno what it's called, it's the one that goes "aaaayteen... baaaaaawwwlding" and it frustrates me with it's lack of being good.

Tapeworm 12-14-2004 08:10 AM

Hah, it sounds funny, but it's a good lyric.

I also like it.

Luxor 12-14-2004 02:05 PM

Started listening to a lot of Sublime again lately... So good.

Well_Respected_Man 12-14-2004 03:10 PM

Me loves noise rock.

Faust
Can
This Heat

I wouldn't be surprised if I started talking about This Heat nonstop soon, I really really like them right now. They're better than Faust or Can easily.

Iai 12-14-2004 03:11 PM

 Tangy's ears are burning.

I heavily dug Paul's Boutique today.

I mean.....Today I was mostly digging Paul's Boutique.

Well_Respected_Man 12-14-2004 03:13 PM

If Tangy starts shit with me about This Heat being better than Can, I smash his face in.

Doctor D. 12-14-2004 03:46 PM

Tangy....I thank you, for leading me on to these two men:

Nick Cave
Nick Drake.

Thank you.

AK47 12-14-2004 06:03 PM

Let it Be and Faded Seaside Glamour by The Delays

Iai 12-14-2004 06:04 PM

Right now I am mostly digging Mansun and McAlmont and Butler.

Toozey told me about Rob Dougan a while ago. I didn't check into him too far, but what I heard didn't sound to be too much like trip-hop, more just general ambient techno. Not bad though, and it's certainly not inconceivable that he switches styles. I like as not haven't heard anything from Furious Angels.

RIPJoeStrummer 12-14-2004 06:15 PM

I dig Frances The Mute today.

Happymeal 12-14-2004 08:10 PM

I'm liking Dysrhythmia and Frantic Bleep, along with Damage. So good.

Zappa 12-14-2004 08:16 PM

I listened to "Keasbey Nights" by Catch 22 today. I love how their improv sounds like a high school jazz band. It's so quaint.

I also really dug on "Bone Machine" by Tom Waits.

el doctor 12-14-2004 08:57 PM

Today I was listening to the reissue of Grant Green's "Alive!" Very enjoyable album.

Zappa 12-14-2004 10:25 PM

I'm getting into the Beatles again. It's amazing how as my musical knowledge increases, there's always something new to appreciate in their music.

Tangy zizzle 12-14-2004 11:57 PM

Hah, this is an unbiased opinion:

While a good band, This Heat are little more than nothing compared to Can. Oh yeah, they aren't noise either.

Reaganista 12-15-2004 12:03 AM

I heard somebody singing guantanamera the today. I am listening to peete seeger now.

Tangy zizzle 12-15-2004 12:20 AM

I hate Kings of Leon. Probably one of the only bands that get a reaction out of me. ( that I don't like)

Bartender 12-15-2004 12:24 AM

What's that in your avatar? I can't make it out.

Tangy zizzle 12-15-2004 12:27 AM

Monster Movie - The Can.

I think it's a limited version or someones just made it up.

Tomahawk 12-15-2004 09:32 AM

I've been listening to the Smiths and wallowing in self pity. Yeah!

Also been rockin some John Lennon and some Talking Heads.

Reaganista 12-15-2004 11:58 AM

dude! the wallflowers!

It's Bob Dylan's son, how bad* could it be?

*awesome.

Master Arkam Kannon 12-15-2004 12:23 PM

the wallflowers are good on their albums, but majorly boring live.

Fall Out Boy - Grand Theft Autumn / Where Is Your Boy

The Ashtray Girl 12-15-2004 03:05 PM

I'm digging my MX Secret Santa mix-CD at the moment, which is totally awesome. It's got some Unicorns, Minus the Bear, Massive Attack, Decemberists, !!! and Xiu Xiu, plus so much more.

Great stuff.

I think the person who sent it may be a regular here, if they are then THAAAAANK YOOOOU!

Iai 12-15-2004 03:07 PM

MX Secret Santa?

Today I have been mostly digging Lauryn Hill and The Eagles.

The Ashtray Girl 12-15-2004 03:10 PM

Ja, Inside Me organised it at the end of last month in The Pit.

OrbDragon 12-15-2004 03:31 PM

I've been into Prefuse 73 recently....can't believe I've only gotten into this just now...great stuff.

Tom Waits' Rain Dogs is dominating now...once this album grows on me...it'll become one of my favorites...I'm convinced of it.

Oh, and St. Germain is cool easy listening music...very recommended.

Yeah, my CD is awesome too. Much more 'indie' than I usually listen to but it's really cool. Some stuff I already knew (Incubus, The Roots) plus some great bands I never knew of (Stroke 9, Eve 6, And Christopher O'Riley's Radiohead covers).

I have an idea of who sent it but I don't want to say right now. :)

sweboy 12-15-2004 04:36 PM

I've been diggin' some Black Uhuru, The Mars Volta and Agent Orange lately, among much other stuff.
