So do you record your Tiger Panic work with a mic straight in to the computer then?

Depends.

I've done it straight from the guitar's output jack into the soundcard, put the bass out of the back of the bass head, mic'd the acoustic guitar, put the acoustic through a little four track mixer, and also tried some experiments of both mic-ing the guitar and doing it through a line into the mixer.

Guitar and bass. edit: maybe piano as well.

Yet to buy any recording equipment, just been looking on the net.

You can get a cheap Behringer 4 track for like $100. Good place to start I think.
