what two Amon Tobin albums?

My grandma and I played Avril 14th for the Christmas Talent show by Aphex Twin.
It was the bitching.
damn straight.
Did by any chance have a listen to my recording yet? If not no worries.

Also: How do you (all of you) deal with reducing the sympathetic vibrations in the snare drum? I've tried all of the stuff in the Tuning Bible and tried my own methods but none have really worked. It's mainly my 10" tom that has always made the snare buzz, any thoughts?
I have two Amon Tobin albums, and a couple Aphex Twin. Aphex Twin is awesome.

True, but the one you mentioned isn't on what?, so I probably won't be doing that one unless you want to upload it and email me the link.
hmm maybe for the next one then because i don't feel like doing all that tonight

We_Love_Lime 01-23-2008 10:21 PM

Nice
They're all good
I didn't like Out From Out Where that much though
My favourite is Bricolage.
Probably the best too.

Doesn't have to be tonight, I probably won't do mine tonight either.

Maybe some good classical. Haven't done anything like that yet.

That one's registered on a private tracker, so I can't download it. There's no seeders anyways. Thanks, though.

Little Android Man 01-23-2008 10:36 PM

Ahh sorry.. np. i'll prob upload it to mediafire like tomorrow or something and email it to you.

fishbulb 01-23-2008 10:36 PM

Little Android Man 01-23-2008 10:38 PM

I have never had to deal with sympathetic vibrations in my recordings. Ever. Must be my awesome tuning.

Also, I got the job, but I don't want it. Its going into people's homes to sell knives. **** that. I'll stick with Target for now.

I also love my monitors. They let me hear things so clearly on my recordings. I just remixed all of the major stuff I've done.

fishbulb 01-23-2008 10:40 PM

Huh.

Anyway, Sympathetic vibrations how do you guys deal with them? I've been wracking my brain for quite some time and i've spent many hours trying to fix it but it seems as if there is nothing i can do to fix it.

And i posted this before i saw froggy's post, thanks. What i've gathered from the tuning bible is that i must change the position in the room and try to find a dead spot in the frequency of the snare so it will minimize it but i'm not really feeling like moving my drums right now.

Seafroggys 01-23-2008 10:46 PM

I don't know. my drums are in the middle of a garage. Don't see how they can get livlier than that.

Fishbulb, have you tried recording with a band? Its a world of difference. After I mastered my drum mix, add in a guitar and bass and you have to change everything.

fishbulb 01-23-2008 10:47 PM

No not yet. My brother is a lazy bastard right now. He bought a new transformer for his amp and he hasn't put it in yet and he wants to wait until the weekend to do so and i'll see how that goes.

Didn't you know what the job was before you applied/got interviewed?

One of my friends does that. Or did, I don't know if he still does. Last I talked to him was a about year ago. Says he made pretty good money though.

Sunshine 01-24-2008 12:41 AM

Selling knives..for cutco? Yeesh, most people end up losing time and money if that's what you're talking about. I was almost suckered into it, greatest escape story ever.

So a good 1/2 or so of my journalism class doesn't know what the word "objectivity" [as opposed to "subjectivity"] means, and it made me question things.

Seafroggys 01-24-2008 12:41 AM
Didn't you know what the job was before you applied/got interviewed?
That's their trick. They were pretty ambigious. Its like they have a 'front' (a marketing firm) that was looking for college students looking for flexible hours with decent pay (it was $14.50 an hour), but really its just selling cutlery from Cutco. Of course if they advertised that, no one would get hired. Which is probably why they like hiring people on the spot, which is what they did with me. I wish they didn't.

Regardless, I did let them know that I would get back to them. I know the manager from school, so we are on pretty good terms.

Sunshine 01-24-2008 12:43 AM

Hahahah, yep.
Cutco.
Huge scam.

Win A Rabbit 01-24-2008 01:14 AM

So, lame. I thought I could register now, do my high school english courses, and be done in time to do diploma exams with everyone else, and then be in college in September.

But it seems I have to wait until August to register to do my high school. :(

So instead of being in college in 9 months, it's now 21 months.

LoneStarDrummer 01-24-2008 01:19 AM

that cutco sounds just like the company that tried to get a lot of college students here to sell textbooks and study guides door to door for high school students.

i wasted a good 20 minutes on that gay *** seminar.

Win A Rabbit 01-24-2008 01:22 AM

my friend goes to timeshare seminars and gets free stuff all the time.

he has no interest in buying a timeshare but they give out some sweet stuff if you just sit and listen to them for 20 minutes.
