Enjoy is defintaly better then FA...cause the DJ completes incubus. i wish they would have put "speak free" on EI though...

incubliss 05-18-2006 08:32 PM

EI is one of the best. Azwethinkweiz is one of my favourite songs ever. I would have loved a The Answer remix for EI.

:D

randomthought9 05-19-2006 05:52 PM

EI's the only studio Incubus CD I don't have.

123 except its Hilikus for me...killer bass line and i love when brandon goes "merrrp" after the first chorus

mutant! 05-20-2006 05:18 AM

I love the solo in Azwethinkweiz. It's so pissy but it sounds so Latino and stuff for no good reason.

Alpha Waves 05-21-2006 07:29 AM
The Halo/Stealth stuff was written as game/movie music. Of course they're not going to include it.

And btw, my friends have me under the impression Enjoy Incubus is loads better than Fungus Amongus.
nah, Fungus is way better than Enjoy Incubus. The DJing on the 4/6 fungus tracks that are on enjoy Incubus dont sit quite right its like he is just playing over the songs so he isnt left out. the original fungus versions are way better.

but science rules all

randomthought9 05-21-2006 04:17 PM

123 on SCIENCE, it's pretty underrated, no one really knows of it besides crazy Incubus fans like me.

lionelhutz88 05-21-2006 05:34 PM

SCIENCE is the only Incubus cd I could ever really get into. They should return to thas style.

Sound Boy 05-21-2006 06:11 PM

yeah and be compared to Primus and RHCP for the rest of their career...:rolls eyes:

podcast numero dos
enjoy!

templeofsyrinxpriest 05-25-2006 09:14 PM

When is their new album supposed to come out? I've heard some time in October, but is there an exact date? Or a name?

Sound Boy 05-26-2006 05:20 AM

listen to the podcast it gives you some updates
and other fun stuff

mutant! 05-26-2006 06:40 AM

I've been listening to SCIENCE as a coherent album for the first time ever. I've only ever listened to half-songs and never in their proper context.

Listening to it from start to finish, it's probably one of the best-constructed albums I've heard.

Definately agree with that.

I love S.C.I.E.N.C.E, just such an amazingly well written album, every song.

Is there any one member of Incubus who writes the music? Or does everyone get involved? Their lyrics are some of the best in my opinion....
yeah and be compared to Primus and RHCP for the rest of their career...:rolls eyes:
I've never really listenned to RHCP, but from what I've heard I never came across anything even remotely similar to S.C.I.E.N.C.E, if there is a Chilis album with similarities, please, my ears are all yours :D

randomthought9 05-26-2006 11:28 AM

/listens to S.C.I.E.N.C.E. :p

I guess the early Incubus stuff could be compared to RHCP, because it's funky, but it's heavier than the Chili's.

Kage 05-26-2006 11:37 AM

I'm more of a "new" Incubus fan. I love Make Yourself and Morning View; ACLOTM is also a great album. SCIENCE is really good, but I definately prefer their newer style.

I believe Brandon writes the lyrics. I know they all write the music together. Like, Mike'd go, "This is the theme," and then he plays a little riff, and then Ben waxes a bassline, Jose does his thing, Chris adds random bleeps... that kinda thing.

I agree, Brandon's lyrics rock.

Guitarist_ 05-27-2006 02:27 AM

Im hoping that there is a mix of old and new. Although i think their new song "love hurts" played at a benefit concert wasn't great. We'll see when the album comes out.

randomthought9 05-27-2006 12:10 PM

Yeah, can't wait!

Sound Boy 05-27-2006 10:23 PM

there were lil snipits of instrumental music between sections of the podcast..i wonder if those are sounds from stuff thats gonna be ont he new album...i really hope so

Ben Kenny is never going to get the appreciation Dirk did. Dirk was in your face and crazy, Ben Kenny sits back.

Says the guy calling himself "metalhead511!!!111one" with a "dark" and "evil" Warcraft character as his avatar.

Ben is sooo the cooler bassist. From a compositional point of view, I mean. The way he approaches his lines is very unique.

shinobidice 06-18-2006 01:29 PM

Mike Einziger is definitely an inspiration in my music. I think Dirk Lance might have had some more interesting technique (SCIENCE shows a lot of crazy bass) but Ben Kenney fits well into their new music, as well as covers the old stuff well (Live at Wellington, Alive at Red Rocks etc)

I can't wait for their new stuff to come out

Lemuria 06-19-2006 09:38 PM

yo, you must not have seen them live. Ben Kenney does anything but sit back. he adds vocals (which dirk didnt do), he does the 3 person drum solo with Jose and Brandon (which Dirk couldnt do) and he jumps and dances around the stage.
