Just to clear up the whole 'Angel of Death' matter SLAYER ARE NOT AND NEVER HAVE BEEN NEO-NAZIS THEMSELVES. To add to the fact listings Jeff's dad fought in Normandy (U.S. army)

Random: I think a better thread name would be "Thread ensemble".
i didn't think so. they seem to diss nazis

Yeah, most Slayer fans know that. Most people are like, "OMG! That guy just said Achieve the Holocaust.. they're racist! Damn Nazis!" But yet overlook the fact that Tom is from Chile and Dave is from Cuba.

FatalEnergy 11-08-2005 09:56 PM

Yeah, this dipshit chick that I knew thought both Slayer and Kreator were racist. It was ridculous

deadline666 11-08-2005 10:14 PM

Amazing band.

Probably because Kreator is German right? Still that's a stupid assumption.

RavenousMetalist87 11-08-2005 10:42 PM

Ignorance = ****.

People need to be re-educated when it comes to the fact of it XD

I told her to read the lyrics to the song "All of the Same Blood" and the lyrics to "Europe After the Rain" to prove that they were in fact AGAINST facism. I have a live video of Mille screaming "fuck the facists, fuck the facists!". It's great

Apocalyptic Raids 11-08-2005 11:04 PM

and People Of The Lie.
and People Of The Lie.
Ahhh, yes, how could I forget.

The only song they played of Coma of Souls live when I saw them

Apocalyptic Raids 11-09-2005 12:23 AM

Not even Terror Zone?!?

FatalEnergy 11-09-2005 12:36 AM

Nope, just People of the Lie. I plan on seeing them again in March. I hope they have a better setlist then. I want to hear stuff like "Mental Slavery"

TheSlayer 11-09-2005 12:51 PM

hhmm, maybe someone should start a Kreator thread then?

What was Slayer's set at donnington (download) 2005?

Britton 11-09-2005 02:12 PM

I'm sure you could google it and find out

There is a Kreator thread, it's small but it pops up every now and then.

And yeah Slayer were there.
From Slayersaves tourdates. Under 2004 European dates.

Hmmm if my memory serves me correctly it was something like:

South Of Heaven
Disciple
Blood Red
Mandatory Suicide
War Ensemble
Seasons In The Abyss
Dead Skin Mask
Postmortem
Raining Blood
Angel Of Death

I might be forgetting some, and I'm not 100% about the order, but all of those were played.

I was at Download in 04 as well but missed Slayer due to them changing stage. :upset:

Did you atleast hear them play or something?

That's about the length of playlist from when I saw them.
I know the first songs they played were Disciple then Stain of Mind.
Then in no perticular order:

Dead Skin Mask
Chemical Warfare
Angel of Death
Seasons in the Abyss
South of Heaven
War Ensemble
Bloodline
Mandatory Suicide
Postmortem
Raining Blood

Postmortem and Raining Blood were the last 2 songs.
Did you atleast hear them play or something?
Do you mean in 04?

Well they changed stage and time so they were headlining the 2nd stage, but Metallica were headlining the main stage, so I wanted to make sure I got a good spot for them (they were my favourite band at the time).
But it turned out that was the day that Lars didn't play with the band, so there was a huge delay in them coming on. And the first two songs they played with Dave Lombardo as well. So it turned out I could have watched both sets.

Oh well, I've got to see Slayer twice since, so I can't complain too much :D

Nostalgia 11-09-2005 05:51 PM

I have seen slayer 0, so...I can complain.

Poofy 666 11-09-2005 06:34 PM

i want to see Slayer live so bad

metalmilitia101 11-09-2005 10:01 PM

same here, that would be one heck of a time.

lightningmetal666 11-10-2005 07:45 PM

Hey butcher, I saw a photo of you in your profile. Actually you do vaguely look like Jeff Hanneman. Not a lot like him but vaguely. Maybe it's the long light colored hair. Or the drunk look in your eyes. j/k

Nostalgia 11-10-2005 07:47 PM

Yea I know you should feel bad for the curly haired people like me, I have to dress extra tr00 because my hair makes me look dumb, but he has no problem whatsoever, the hair does all the work for him.

I just put that up, because at school, some random kid during passing period stopped and told me that I reminded him. The only thing I think we really have in common looks-wise is that we have long blondish hair, white skin, and blue eyes. It made my day though. I do wish my hair was still as blonde as Jeff's. It used to be super blonde, but once I hit my teens it's been getting darker and darker.

It was funny when I was growing my hair out and had a goatee similar to Dimebag Darrells (well the chin part anyways). Ppl used to say I looked like Jack Black with a goatee.

I had to shave my goatee and cut my hair to find a job. :upset:

My hair was a bitch to comb and handle but I loved the way it looked when I was headbangin' to some slayer.:thumb:

metalmilitia101 11-10-2005 07:53 PM

long hair + slayer + headbanging = goooood times!

np: seasons in the abyss

It's also motrifying when you get caught headbanging or playing air guitar to.

I never really cared if I was caught headbanging but I hear that it's worse than getting caught mastubating.

haha yes indeed, unless you start it while the people are watching. if they just kinda walk in, yeah that's awkward

Speaking of headbanging and Slayer. I remember this is probably the most vivid memory of the Slayer concert I still have. It was during Chemical Warefare, and I was headbanging, and my buddy gets ready to throw the horns up, and smacked me in the face. I really didn't pay attention, but now that I think about it, I think it's funny. And if we weren't at the concert, I'd probably would have been kind of pissed.
