Just tell me what you want me to upload it with and I'll do it.
|
i never have been able to figure bittorrent out for some fuckin reason... megaupload or rapidshare would be awesome. pretty much the only way i can find music right now is searching blogs and record crates...

Betty Boards (named so because of Betty Cantor-Jackson, operating the sound board) are all phenomenal sounding...I used to have a list of them but I lost it. Included in the list are 5/8/77 and 2/18/71 - that should tell you something about the quality of them.
Edit: Here we go: http://www.nii.net/~obie1/deadcd/betty_board_info.htm#Terrapin%20Station%20BBS |
I'm uploading 3 shows, 1977-05-25 - The Mosque, 1974-06-18 - Freedom Hall, and 1972-05-26 - The Strand Lyceum, I'll have the link up by tomorrow morning. These are some of my favorite shows, and the sbds are very high quality. The Mosque especially.

I haven't heard any of those shows so I'm pretty excited. If I can figure out megaupload on a mac, i'll upload some shows.
|
Might As Well is a really awesome song that doesn't get nearly enough credit. Just putting it out there. It's a really great opener. DSO opened with it when I saw them and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since.
I've been streaming this show this afternoon- http://www.archive.org/details/gd77-10-29.sbd.kempa.280.sbeok.shnf Awesome Might As Well opener, Estimated > Eyes... good stuff. |

All 3 shows... Megaupload isn't to hard (I'm using a mac). Just zip the file and then upload it, pretty self explanatory. |
Right, but how do I zip the files? I used to use a program called Winzip when I had a dell but I don't think Winzip works on macs? Does it? Or do you know what program will?
|
I just use stuffit expander, it comes with mac. It should open automatically when you click on the file.
|
Well my external hard drive with all my music crashed for the 2nd time this summer. So I can't try that now. Large music collections are a real pain in the *** when you lose them. Hopefully, I'll get most of it back today though, and then I can upload some shows. I'm thinking maybe 2/18/71, 2/14/68 and 11/6/77. Or maybe one of the Ark shows from 4/69. Those are all terrific shows.
|
dude last year i had 80 gigs of shit crash on me...idk if i will ever get back some of the stuff i had. it kinda made me skittish of tryin to have any kind of real mp3 collection...
|
Yeah I lost 20,000 songs. It's rough. I am managing to get most of them back pretty easily though since my hard drive still works well enough to back up some of my files on another computer.
Gov't Mule
Jim Jones Jim Jones And The Koolaid Kids The Allman Brothers Band The Grateful Dead Phish and some other ones i cant think of right now...
I second all the above. Gonna add Elvin Bishop. He's actually got Gov't Mule featured on his new album. http://www.myspace.com/elvinbishopmusic |

The Let it Grow and Jack Staw are smokin' as well. Freedom Hall 6/18/74 may very well be the best show ever. The second set jam is phenomenal. LiG goes waaaaay deep, into the Other One....words cannot describe these sections. You have to hear this as soon as possible. This is truly the band beyond description. They even encore with Dew...that should tell you something. |
I don't have that Freedom Hall show, I'll have to download it now. I do have the Iowa show from 2 nights before though, great show. The Eyes Of The World is one of the best ever.
|
Yea, the Eyes>Big River is awesome. It helps that I love Big River, but that's such a cool and unique transition. The Playin' that follows is also a great one.
|
my dad went to all the iowa dead shows and more
<_< lucky |
so i got the 6/74 des moines and louisville shows today, some fuckin righteous jams.
look for awhile at the chiii na cat sunflower |
I'm listening to China Cat right now. Dick's Picks 12. Good stuff.
I saw Tea Leaf Green twice last week. Great fun as always. Got to meet Josh Clark too. And talk to Reed again. |
tlg did a really good job at all good. i wasnt really familiar with their material but it was a good set.
|
I saw Umphrey's + Gov't Mule last night, it was a pretty good show. I thought Umphrey's was headlining though, so when they came out first that was a bummer. Good set though, Search 4, Wappy Sprayberry > Higgins (incredible), The Bottom Half > Glory > The Bottom Half, Divisions > Pipeline > Resultion > Drums > Divisons > Jajunk.
As for Gov't Mule, I didn't really enjoy them that much. They played a few covers (Dear Prudence, War Pigs, For What it's Worth, Morning Dew, some other Doors song) that were awesome, but overall not to great. I'm just not a fan of their really really slow numbers that just drag on, and the drum segment was super boring. Some tight jams, but meh. |
Drums at a Mule show is painful. Matt Abts can play but can't solo. That's my view on it.
So what does everyone think about the recent Dead rumors? |
I'm so hopeful.
|
I would consider dropping out of college for a spring tour. Not really, but if it was up to me...
What does everyone think the lineup would be? It's really pretty hard to make a guess besides the main four since it changes so much. |
Warren Hayes was/is slotted to play guitar I guess.

Two thumbs way up! |
I've got Bear Creek comin' up :
http://www.bearcreekmusicfestival.com/lineup.html It looks like it's gonna be supra sick. I'd recommend that you (everyone) should go. |
Have fun seeing DubConscious!
STS9 were incredible the past few days at Red Rocks, absolutely incredible. |
God I would love to see a show at RR.
My friend and I are currently in the process of founding the Michigan Live Music Association (MLMA) at our college. The group is simply for going with large groups of people to see shows, as well as pre- and post- parties and discussions. Our big bust out will be for EOTO on Oct. 9. A group of us are also planning right now to go see Panic's three night run in Milwaukee this November, which would be phenomenal. It's a little bit of a stretch but we know someone who lives there and Panic is Godly. |
Yo, if you happen to stop by minnesota on your way to milwaukee... let me know.
And that is a really awesome club. I may try to found one here. |
