He does shred with class, some people are always like "OMFG WATS WIT DA CONSTANT WANKIN!?!?!?" I hate that, I love his shredding.
i have TOTAL respect for anyone who can go that fast, yet do it so clean |
Hes soooooooo clean... In The Name Of God, although lacks feel, is incredible.
|
DT in conversation, in, the Tool thread.
|
i dont remember too many of the track titles.
I really like LTE though |
DT in conversation, in, the Tool thread.
apparently stating the obvious as well :thumb: |
I like LTE but I don't like DT. ...Probably because I hate LaBrie's vocals.
|
I'm really into DT's Train of Thought right now. The first five tracks are amazing, but then Stream of Consciousness comes on. I really dislike that song, it's a tiresome ten minutes of technical playing with no soul or emotion. Then In the Name of God comes on, which is pretty good.
I'm more of a fan of their heavier stuff, ToT, Awake, "The Glass Prison", I'd rather listen to that then their softer stuff which I honestly find to be a bit cheesy at times. They're all amazing musicians, true virtuosos who can make some fantastic music. James Labrie can occasionally get on my nerves, but he deserves some credit. Oh and check out the new modern rock band poll. Hardest choice ever, I think, I'm still undecided between the first four artists. Stream of Consciousness rocks man... how can you not like that?

Yeah, I totally respect his awesome skills, like I do any musician who's better than me, which is most, I assure you. But even though I respect his shredding skills, dosn't mean I want to listen to them all the time. Only occasionally. (: Images and Words and Scenes from a Memory are my two favourite CD's from what i've heard. Their other stuff I'm not a fan of.. Especially their latest CD. Stuck me as uber-cheesy. |
i have TOTAL respect for anyone who can go that fast, yet do it so clean
Francesco Fareri (SP?) every note he plays has perfect articulation.

whats with the upside down triangles above ur stars?
you want them to look like medals or something. Ive never heard of that guy btw |
you want them to look like medals or something.
something i ripped off EVERYONE, for the fact im unoriginal and lame.
Ive never heard of that guy btw
he is good |
I need to tey to get into Dillinger. I'm not really a fan of that type of singing, but it does really fit the music. Baby's First Coffin and 43%(I think its 43) really get me hooked.
|
since i came home (last year) from the G3-concert with a terrible headache, i dislike every kind of shredding. even petrucci's one!
before, i loved DT, but now i get sick when i hear shredding. |

So do I. I almost never use it, just seemed appropriate in this nerdy forum. :p |

Not to mention the stupidest fucking one. It pisses me off so much. |
Not to mention the most uber stupidest fucking one. It pisses me off so much.
I like to say it, though. :( What's dumb about it? |
It's pretty nerdy. A few games i've played online, more so years ago used the word uber a lot. It's like, Uber, Leet, pwned. etc.
|
No, I don't care if it's nerdy. Most people just blatantly misuse the word because they don't know its actual German meaning. It started with people saying, for example, "(insert something here) uber all" which is fine, but then they started saying, "(instert something here) is uber cool," which is not fine. It translates to "(instert something here) is over cool."
It just really irks me for some reason, and it's a pet peeve. It's an ignorance that caught on and people hopped on the bandwagon, and that really angers me. |
Und eier uber ich!
I need to work on my German. I'll try to use it correctly from now on, though. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=385226 Go there, learn 46&2. :) |
I can play 46&2 :) that thread seems like good idea, though i think it will get silly with easy/difficult songs.
|
What are you talking about? easy/difficult songs?
|
Was the title of this thread just changed...
Good write up about 46&2 Jake, I'm ganna work on that sometime within the next week. |
I figured it would be easier for new people to find this thread if it was marked just as all the other official threads. I don't see why Tool should be an exception.
Right? |
I figured it would be easier for new people to find this thread if it was marked just as all the other official threads. I don't see why Tool should be an exception.
Right?
I thought we all had to input our own name for it like each thread all the reg's give it a new name and we already just decided to have ours. |

Right?
No that's where you are wrong :) Tool are more important than the other bands and therefore need their own style of title. Hence why we have red font in the rules thread. |
Superpeer, can you rant against Tool again? I'm kind of bored.
|
I'm not sure I understand, I wasn't here when the change was made, but it seems to me that all the other ex-***Official*** threads have the same name and I think it would be highly confusing for new people that this one doesn't.
Superpeer, can you rant against Tool again? I'm kind of bored.
Haha, don't really feel like it though, but one of you people should send me an entire album by them and I shall listen to it, then we can talk again. I'd like that. |

Agreed. :thumb: |
