I like LTE but I don't like DT. ...Probably because I hate LaBrie's vocals.

I'm really into DT's Train of Thought right now. The first five tracks are amazing, but then Stream of Consciousness comes on. I really dislike that song, it's a tiresome ten minutes of technical playing with no soul or emotion. Then In the Name of God comes on, which is pretty good.

I'm more of a fan of their heavier stuff, ToT, Awake, "The Glass Prison", I'd rather listen to that then their softer stuff which I honestly find to be a bit cheesy at times.

They're all amazing musicians, true virtuosos who can make some fantastic music. James Labrie can occasionally get on my nerves, but he deserves some credit.

Oh and check out the new modern rock band poll. Hardest choice ever, I think, I'm still undecided between the first four artists.

Yeah, I totally respect his awesome skills, like I do any musician who's better than me, which is most, I assure you. But even though I respect his shredding skills, dosn't mean I want to listen to them all the time. Only occasionally. (:

Images and Words and Scenes from a Memory are my two favourite CD's from what i've heard. Their other stuff I'm not a fan of.. Especially their latest CD. Stuck me as uber-cheesy.

I need to tey to get into Dillinger. I'm not really a fan of that type of singing, but it does really fit the music. Baby's First Coffin and 43%(I think its 43) really get me hooked.

since i came home (last year) from the G3-concert with a terrible headache, i dislike every kind of shredding. even petrucci's one!
before, i loved DT, but now i get sick when i hear shredding.

It's pretty nerdy. A few games i've played online, more so years ago used the word uber a lot. It's like, Uber, Leet, pwned. etc.

No, I don't care if it's nerdy. Most people just blatantly misuse the word because they don't know its actual German meaning. It started with people saying, for example, "(insert something here) uber all" which is fine, but then they started saying, "(instert something here) is uber cool," which is not fine. It translates to "(instert something here) is over cool."

It just really irks me for some reason, and it's a pet peeve. It's an ignorance that caught on and people hopped on the bandwagon, and that really angers me.

No that's where you are wrong :) Tool are more important than the other bands and therefore need their own style of title. Hence why we have red font in the rules thread.

I'm not sure I understand, I wasn't here when the change was made, but it seems to me that all the other ex-***Official*** threads have the same name and I think it would be highly confusing for new people that this one doesn't.
