Blessed is probably more consistent overall but is let down a bit by the hollow production; I do think people complain a bit too much about the instrumentals - they could easily have dropped at least acouple but I don't feel they break up the flow too badly. Plus I quite like Doomsday Celebration and Desolate Ways.

Altars has some really seriously fantastic tracks, particularly the first half of the album, but a couple of the latter tracks feel slightly unspecial/derivative. Overall, though, I probably prefer it.

yeah I like Blessed as well, but overall Altars is just a better listen

morbid angel has one good album lets pretend theyre a good band 20 years later

well tbh I don't really care much about their other albums, but AoM is easily in my top 3 DM albums.

It's in my top 20 but honestly when I talk about liking a band I talk about their good albums and if they have bad ones I just ignore them tbh.

mappy there are a lot more great finnish old school death albums other than those two! you must investigate!

everybody always says Altars of Madness is in their top X of all time death metal. its a great album but i never found it to be anything in the top 20's imo. immortal rites has one of my favorite death metal sections though.

i'd replace KI with World Without God and then youre getting closer. can't think of an album suitable to replace SOSE atm but now i'm racking my brain.

(mappy) i finally found a melodic death metal band i like, that being Unanimated. but richard cabeza is involved so you can't go wrong. that puts me at about 1/340807 good melodic death metal bands at this point.

Mental Funeral is ****ing awesome.

No dude, Mental Funeral is boring and Demigod actually has good riffs/drumming/vocals and is way more unique.
