I certainly agree.
I'm not so sure, One is pretty good live because of all the fireworks.

Huber 07-02-2005 08:20 PM
I agree with creeping death, specially the ''DIE'' chant.. Its truly awesome. Oh, I didn't know Megadeth had released metallica songs on CD!
If you mean Mechanix, that was practically Dave's song. It's definetly his right and he deserves to have it on one of his albums.

Escher 07-02-2005 08:29 PM
what????
You don't know what the DIE chant is?

Huber 07-02-2005 08:30 PM
You don't know what the DIE chant is?
He was probably referring to the Megadeth statement.
...

Tell me more about this "new CD"
its coming out early 2006

Carlos Santana 07-02-2005 10:19 PM
He was probably referring to the Megadeth statement.
yes actually i was

also quick question i was watching cliff'em all earlier today and in the begining when the metallica members enter the store, i was wondering did they come in take the stuff and leave without paying (me and my friend were wondering)?

FlyingPaul_83 07-03-2005 01:11 AM

I wonder that everytime I watch cliff em all, but then creeping death comes on and I totally forget about that.

EDIt: No Remorse and Four Horsemen are incredible on cliff em all:thumb: (I just wish they played all of the four horsemen.
its coming out early 2006
You wish, man. It's already halfway through 2005 and there's no way it will be done early '06, that's if they took a similar approach to St. Anger.

So who's doing the new competition for a metal cover? I am. I'm thinking about doing Welcome Home (Sanitarium). I'd just need to perfect the middle solo.

Thor 07-03-2005 11:48 AM

I was considering doing a RATM song, but if that's not "metal" enough for them then I'll probably do Creeping Death.

exup 07-03-2005 02:05 PM

i really hate the fact that metallica is actually pretty unknown by most of the people
"yeah i like metallica.Oh i like wiskey in the jar too.Yeah eehm whatever"

You must live under a rock if you don't think there is a ton of people today that know of Metallica, and most of them DO know (shockingly) of the first four albums.

exup 07-03-2005 02:08 PM

my favo songs i think ( hard to do, there all good)

welcome home sanitarium
fade to black
blackened

hmm, thinking quite long here. but actually i like all the stuff from ffwf <> ajfa and some of black/load/reload/stanger ...

Mazeppa 07-03-2005 02:10 PM

Actually there's plenty of people who seem to think Whisky In The Jar is the best song Metallica have written.

yeah but loads don't, loads of 16-17 year olds don't know **** about them

Huber 07-03-2005 02:20 PM

I didn't say that there wasn't a single person on the planet who didn't know of their better works, but there is enough people to say that those works aren't "pretty unknown".

Agitator01 07-03-2005 03:12 PM
If you mean Mechanix, that was practically Dave's song. It's definetly his right and he deserves to have it on one of his albums.
Well I mean most of his songs, I accually checked to see what year 1000 times goodbye was released, yes it was after reload..

Megadeth are an awesome band I just noticed alot of Metallica riffs, I even sung Creeping death for one song, even all the time changes were the same!

I know about the Mechanix, personally I prefer metallicas version, you can understand the lyrics. All metallica did was change the lyrics and release it.
Actually there's plenty of people who seem to think Whisky In The Jar is the best song Metallica have written.
I know! Its outrageous, I can't believe people think Metallica written that song, its a cover originally by thin lizzy :D

Chu 07-03-2005 07:57 PM

I don't think Megadeth would use Metallica's riffs...

The other way, yes.

Joe 07-03-2005 11:33 PM

Yes it's nice when people have heard of their songs, but there's not a person on the planet that hasn't heard of Metallica.

I've gotten my girlfriend into Metallica (yes!!!). It's fairly easy to impress a girl by playing Fade to Black or Struggle Within... and she's actually recognizing and banging her head to the songs now (I win.).
I don't think Megadeth would use Metallica's riffs...

Actually, either could get sued for "us[ing]" each other's riffs. Neither, IMO, use each other's riffs. The fact that Dave and James were in the same band for a few years means that they probably influenced each other a bit.

(Yea, some Megadeth songs are similar to some Metallica songs, and vise versa)
Metallica > AC/DC AC/DC = Gay Metallica = Greatest Band Ever
Gay Metallica, greatest band ever? very interesting........... And anyways, AC/DC is pretty awesome and not many people around here like the hating on a band like that

Audiopond 07-03-2005 11:52 PM

re read it ACDC = Gay
Metallica = greatest band ever
dont u find wats his name from ACDCs voice annoying

Huber 07-03-2005 11:53 PM

No, ACDC is an awesome band.

Joe 07-03-2005 11:54 PM

yea, mx doesn't allow big spaces.

and no, his voice is unique. either way that was completely uncalled for, pointless, and childish. people here don't care if you say "i'm not really into ac/dc" but gay is very seldom excepted around here, especially when you're talking about a great rock n roll band
No, ACDC is an awesome band.
you keep BEATING ME!

so he didn't sign off yet he's not posting anymore...

ok metallica fans n mxers, 'night
You must live under a rock if you don't think there is a ton of people today that know of Metallica, and most of them DO know (shockingly) of the first four albums.
I dont think so cause there are only four people in my class(that counts 22 people) who know what metallica is, the only song they know is nothing else matters.
if you say its from 'tallica thy wont believe you cause they think the only music metallica makes is noise.
(they've never ever heard it)

rippa32 07-04-2005 03:18 AM

I just got Ride the Lightning, I am so happy with it, ive been playing it constantly. Anyhoo on to my question, I noticed that And Justice For All was also released on vinyl record, yet that album goes for close to 70min. Did they have to cut out songs to fit on a record?

Jev 07-04-2005 03:41 AM

I don't think they did.

fatbandit 07-04-2005 04:47 AM

Okay, it won't let me download that version of Whiplash from the previous page, as I'm using AOL. Can anyone YSI or send it to me on MSN or something for me please :D

Also, any idea why Newsted is on bass on that track, and not Rex Brown?

Also, has anyone heard Megadeth's version of Battery? My friend has it on his computer. Dave's vocals are godawful, he's clearly taking the piss. But if he's trying to ape Hetfield and mock him, I don't see how... They don't even sound like a bad impression of Hetfield

That's not Megadeth. Despite the title. Megadeth would never cover a Metallica song.

fatbandit 07-04-2005 05:40 AM

Bah, that's why I thought it may have been a pisstake on Dave's part you see. Ah well. Still, my Whiplash question stands :)

:smash:

Chu 07-04-2005 07:01 AM

Meh, they got pissed with Newstead..

Carlos Santana 07-04-2005 07:44 AM

Yeah Phil Anselmos a pretty good guitar player if thats him playing (i can bearly hear due to the audio quality of the video) but from what i heard he sounds good.

also can anyone answer my "Cliff'em All" question bout how the metallica guys enter the store, and when they leave, did they pay or did they steal?

I wonder that every time I see it.. I would like to know the answer too.

fatbandit 07-04-2005 09:55 AM

Yeah, I thought they just walked out with it. I like the way the whole DVD/video is based around them buying beer, drinking beer, and finishing when hey run out

I think its either staged for footage's sake, or the crew maybe pays after? Or they could have just robbed it... I don't know...

Actually, yeah, what does happen?

:smash:

hetfieldfan86 07-04-2005 10:14 AM

Hey , I got a question. I was at circuit city the otherday and i saw this DVD "METALLICA: a yeah and a half in the Life of." And it was weird cause it the logo all in the block letters like from LOAD/ReLOAD but said and looked like like it was all from the black-era...cause James still had the hair and everything. And if u have seen it or know of it whats it like? Any good?

dark gunslinger 07-04-2005 10:14 AM
I was trying to learnt the ride the lightining solo the other day. It is imo the hardest metallica solo out there
yea man ride the lightinging is hard but i can't get master of puppets which f**king sucks! i can't ****ing get!
