ScorpSath 10-31-2004 11:48 PM

I have a cankersore I dobelieve that's the only reason to kill yourself.

e p 10-31-2004 11:48 PM

Oh I know.

Lets talk about petroleum by-products.

ocdrumandbass 10-31-2004 11:52 PM

isnt bitumen cool?

ocdrumandbass 10-31-2004 11:53 PM

probably cooler than unleaded petrol, since bitumen saves my suspension from being replaced every 6 months, and i need to put 60 litres into my car every 400 ks

gaslight 10-31-2004 11:54 PM

Printed all my notes, just gotta study them later.

Wintermute 10-31-2004 11:59 PM

Hey Matt, how are things?

ScorpSath 11-01-2004 12:00 AM

* Sleeps *

gaslight 11-01-2004 12:02 AM

Hey Winter, good :).

My Foxtel has been fixed, my notes are printed for study later. Should be all good for the Modern History exam tommorow. Still waiting for an sms on my phone, and for 6 PM to come around so that fun TV will be on. I really want some dinner as well, I've felt hungry all day.

That's about it.

You?

Wintermute 11-01-2004 12:04 AM

I seem to be pulling another all-nighter. I have lectures in 3 hours so it doesn't seem worth sleeping. Spent most of the night debating up and down the boards and on instant messengers. Great debating, for the most part.

gaslight 11-01-2004 12:08 AM

It's probably keeping your brain active/awake I guess.

Rollo47 11-01-2004 12:10 AM

Oh man.... I'm listening to Herbie Hancock and Jaco Pastorius - Chameleon. So incredibly cool. So funky. So awesome. And long (at least 15mins, I think).
probably cooler than unleaded petrol, since bitumen saves my suspension from being replaced every 6 months, and i need to put 60 litres into my car every 400 ks
What car?

Wintermute 11-01-2004 12:11 AM

Giving the alternate account an airing, Popin?

gaslight 11-01-2004 12:11 AM

I never knew Jaco played with Herbie .

Wintermute 11-01-2004 12:13 AM

Herbie is on Jaco's debut album!

'Forgotten Love'?

gaslight 11-01-2004 12:15 AM

Oh okay, just when I was learning Chameleon my bass teacher was talking about some other bass player.

Wintermute 11-01-2004 12:16 AM

Sheehan has a song by the same name... but I don't think anyone could confuse Jaco with Billy

gaslight 11-01-2004 12:18 AM

So, Jaco Pastorius was the bassist of all the versions of Hancock's Chameleon?

Rollo47 11-01-2004 12:20 AM

Nope. Just on a specific version that I downloaded.

JamminOnMy4String 11-01-2004 12:29 AM

"See, I think drugs have done some good things for us, I really do. And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor: Go home tonight and take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your cd's and burn em'. Cause you know what? The musicians who've made all that great music that has enhanced your lives throughout the years.... RRRRRRRReal ****in high on drugs."
~Maynard James Keenan (lead singer for Tool)

Wintermute 11-01-2004 12:30 AM

Wrong!

Bill Hicks, sampled by Tool. Hence the dedication on the album inset.

ocdrumandbass 11-01-2004 12:34 AM
What car?
xf sedan

why do you have this account?

gaslight 11-01-2004 12:38 AM

Meh drugs.

JamminOnMy4String 11-01-2004 12:38 AM

sorry... as performed in "Third Eye"

Wintermute 11-01-2004 12:39 AM
Meh drugs.
Yeah, I have the same general mindset. Can't be denied, Hicks had a point, but I've never been interested in them.

Rollo47 11-01-2004 12:41 AM

Yeah - it's all personal preference really. I drink, and smoke some weed occasionally, but I'm not too bothered. I'd rather be drunk than stoned.

gaslight 11-01-2004 12:42 AM

Yeah, lots of people see drugs as a shortcut to creativity or a mind expanding thing.

To me it's just your mind reacting to chemicals, a lot of them potentially dangerous, and most of what comes out is the product of a malfunctioning brain.

I'm suprisingly anti-drug in a way, I'm not sure if it was intentional or not from the start.

Either way, to stay completely on topic, I would never want to use drugs to make music.

Wintermute 11-01-2004 12:43 AM

Nor I, I'd be afraid of becoming dependant on them to do it.

gaslight 11-01-2004 12:44 AM

To make what I just said look a lie, I just discovered that when I tap my computer screen in different places with the end of a pen, it produces different notes.

Like a lo-fi chime or something.

I wish I had a mic to record it.

Rollo47 11-01-2004 12:48 AM

Yeah - I only drink and smoke socially, to have fun - no other reason.

popinfresh˛ 11-01-2004 01:05 AM

I don't smoke myself, i think it's pretty grose. But I don't mind smokers, if they are been concious of people around them.

Drinkings all fine though.

Rollo47 11-01-2004 01:09 AM

You talking about weed or tobacco, Popin?

madthumbs 11-01-2004 01:14 AM

i smoke weed sometimes, i prefer drinking though, yeah i started at an early age.

Wintermute 11-01-2004 01:15 AM

Too right you did...

Rollo47 11-01-2004 01:22 AM

Meh. Not much earlier than me, really.

Wintermute 11-01-2004 01:25 AM

I first got drunk when I was 10, but I wasn't drinking regularly until 16.

popinfresh 11-01-2004 01:27 AM
You talking about weed or tobacco, Popin?
Tobacco fo sho.

gaslight 11-01-2004 01:28 AM

How early did you start Madthumbs?

I've still never been drunk in my life.
