But the mistake everyone made was going into the album expecting a Third Album. I went in expecting a cover album. It really helps. I mean, I love that album.
Different opinions. I dont want to have to be saying to myself "Ok this is a cover album" To find something enjoyable. I still wouldnt, IMO That album was garbage. Some songs are just flat out horrible (Bodies like sheep, Gimmie, Lets have a war)

I just can not listen to that album.
Why does everyone hate eMOTIVE?
Well. I heard the cover of Imagine and decided right there i would not be purchasing that album.

When i first got Emotive, i was really dissapointed. But after listening to it a few more times, it's a really creative and mellow album to relax too. My favorite track from that album at the moment is When The Levee Breaks.

I'll agree with you there, i have no idea what they were thinking when they did Bodies like sheep.
From what I understood, Maynard produced Pony didn't he?
I think he just helped out with it, because he was trying to help give Chino an idea of how to sing the parts on Passenger and they ended up just using his track.

no that the album sucks of anything.. but i cant help but feeling a little cheated because of the album cover and how they promoted emotive through the music video and constatine the movie... the way they promoted the album gives people a different view of how the whole album actually sounds like

I somewhat agree with Emotive being promoted through Passive. It was a kick in the teeth when half of the album was Electronica/Ambient sounding, but IMO a very creative/artsy album.

You're right Pony was produced by Terry Date.

Kage 02-16-2006 09:14 PM

Maynard had absoluetely nothing to do with the production of White Pony.

Moses 02-16-2006 10:43 PM

That's right, Terry Date also produced Catch Without Arms by dredg. The man is truly great at what he does.

That's just their take on pop songs. You should hear the real stuff. El Cielo is a masterpeice.

Since a lot fo you guys are fans....ont the Radiohead albums O.K. Computer and The Bends, are there any songs that has lyrics that deal with, concern, or have anything to do about death? I have a song interpretation to do for school, and I would like to get a sogn off one of these albums. The thing is, it has to do with something about death.

So, do any songs off those albums apply?

Street Spirit, The Tourist etc.
Most songs on those albums deal with a sense of alienation that can easily be compared to death.
The obvious choice is Street Spirit, possibly one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

Speaking of El Cielo, have you got a chance to send me that?

Futuro 02-17-2006 11:55 PM

I still have yet to finish this, Im not exactly the best guitar player, And There is going to be a subtle guitar track over this. The last ringbefore the big haitus Someone will pick up the phone and start a dialouge, That has yet to be recorded, basically because I dont like the sound of my voice.

Um, This is only a transition piece between 2 songs (Which are still being worked on) I thought you guys might like it, But probably not heh.

Wow, that was pretty frickin' good. What was that for, it was pretty eerie and i liked the synth beat you had in there. The sound bytes are pretty cool also.

Cool, Im surprised someone actually downloaded it. It is going on a cd, Just for transitional purposes. I have always been a big fan of Dark ambient music. The drum beat is actually me hitting an up right bass drum with drum sticks, and a 15 inch piece of sheet metal (The bass drum is looped, the Sheet metal is not) I made most of the sounds that I looped out of wierd noises(Closing a door then expanding it 500 times, Raising the pitch etc) and a abstract style recording process I learned from a friend.

Ambient music is really fun to play. I'm taken back by the way you have made the sounds, i would certainly listen to whatever cd it's going to be on. Keep up the good work dude.

Dose anybody know anything about when Tool is touring australia? I heard that they were coming out this year but i think its just a rumour. If anyone has any information let me know please.

dUSK 02-18-2006 01:23 AM

Tool haven't announced anything about performing in Australia, and I doubt that they will any time soon. I read something a while ago about a couple of the bands members coming here to do some promo stuff, but don't expect much. I don't anyway.

Sleeper 02-18-2006 01:24 AM

Pretty much everything at the moment is up in the air, all we can do is wait and see.

Damn, I think I have to restart the uploads. Don't worry, you'll get it soon.

I'm doing more than one so I can put it in the mailing list.

I listened to the track. The only thing I didn't like is how the Art Bell show was really long. I think if it's a transitional song it should be shorter but that's just me. I liked the ambient stuff though, that was cool.

Thanks for listening too. :)

Finally heard those Alice in chains songs with maynard. Pretty good. To me it sounded like maynard had hard time hitting some of the lower notes. <Shrug> Still hecka good though ;)

Opinions?

EDIT: Just finished Man in the box. WOW!

omgwtfboogie 02-20-2006 02:00 PM

Yeah, the live "Man in the Box" with Maynard is my favorite of that bunch.

Heh chuckled at it. Real cheesy names. Sounds like someone was trying to make up werd names that are somewhat relevant.

So, Tool is playing at the coachella art and music festival on April 30th, i'm planning to go but it's a bit expensive($ 85).

Now, i know Tool is planning to release a new album this year, so: Should i wait till they make a tour by themselves and buy cheaper tickets, or should i buy the coachella ones?

I also don't know if their normal shows are for all ages.

Adam Jones is GOD 02-20-2006 07:06 PM

I would get Coachella tickets, as Mogwai are also on that bill, and you should make it your duty to see them while they're in the US.

They still havent announced any UK festivals though :(

Kage 02-20-2006 07:12 PM

I'm seeing Mogwai on March 24, I believe. I'm extremely excited about that. I'll probably never see Tool.

Futuro 02-20-2006 08:54 PM

Collide featuring Danny Carey on drums.

EDIT crap I keep forgetting it is illegal. Wanna post your emails?

:D

YouGottaBeCrazy 02-20-2006 10:24 PM

Toolnavy going slow for anyone else?

Anyway, over there, the newest album rumor, Aldaraia, is being shown to atleast be the closest to the real thing, if it's fake. The person who posted them, if he made them up, actually spent time researching for those titles. Plus they have other evidence to show that that track list is for real. IDK, i like to wait for blair's updates. Just to know for sure.

nowitzki 02-21-2006 03:22 AM

Tool apparently to be confirmed for Download!:
