I had the original BWP but I wanted the limited edition with the amazing slipcase and bonus disc. Now I'm wondering what to do with the first version.
Sell it? |
Break it.
Too stop the spreading of yucky yucker yuck. |
Break it.
Too stop the spreading of yucky yucker yuck.
Bad, bad chirstmas spirit. |
Jared, go away you fag.
Anyway, yeah. Opeth. |
Yes...Opeth.
I only own the regular BWP. What's on this bonus disc? |
I didn't know of any bonus disc.
I second the question as to the contents of said disc. |
Yes...Opeth.
I only own the regular BWP. What's on this bonus disc?
Two songs that weren't on the original copy, and some music videos. The songs are "Patterns In The Ivy II" and "Still Day Beneath the Sun". They're both clean songs and they're pretty good. |
Actually, they're amazing. They're acoustic songs like Harvest but with the dark feel of Damnation.
Plus all of the artwork looks nice and fancy since it's limited edition. |
Oh, I've heard both those songs.
I didn't like Patterns in the Ivy II at all. What music videos? |
I think it's just Harvest, but I haven't checked it out yet.
Oh, I've heard both those songs.

Who produced GR? Jens something?
And could someone send me the two bonus tracks? I had them but deleted them or something.. can't find them in any case. Thanks. bananaman__@hotmail.com |
That's a pretty safe bet.
|

It was a good run. |
I love Still Day Beneath The Sun. It's such a chill track, and it's quite beautiful.
|
It's a very good song, but the two deleted tracks just don't amount up to Harvest. That song has some of the best vocal work from Akerfeldt methinks.
But as far as great clean Opeth songs go, To Bid You Farewell and Benighted cannot be beaten. |
Face of Meeeeeeelindaaaaaaaaaaa!

I love that song, just the transition could have been easier on the ears. |
Everyone loves that song, but I'm weird and think it's one of the weaker songs on Still Life. I'm just more partial to The Moor, Godhead's Lament and Benighted. Those three are so incredibly beautiful, brutal, and epic.

/kicks you in the balls Yeah, I love the Moor and Benighted. But Face Of Melinda is my favorite Opeth ballad, and very close to favorite song. I love everything about it.
I love that song, just the transition could have been easier on the ears.
I think it works, becuase of the transition in the story. It goes from peace, to when Melinda tells the main character about all that stuff. It's suppost to be unsettling. I love it. :D |
Both bonus tracks > Harvest
Ugh ugh ugh! Both are really mediocre...Harvest is beautiful. |
Ugh ugh ugh!
Both are really mediocre...Harvest is beautiful.
I find Harvest to be sort of bland. Decent track, but nothing really standoutish. I usually skip it when playing BWP, which hasn't been done for a long time.... |
I find the two bonus tracks to be right on par with Harvest. Lately I'm liking them even more, but most likely because I've known Harvest for a long time and these songs are brand new to me. Harvest was the song that first caught my attention on BWP though. :D
Face of Melidnda always sounded odd to me. It's good...but strange for some reason. Anyhoo, I usually skip right to The Moor, Serenity Painted Death, and White Cluster. |
I don't really listen to Opeth unless I listen to the whole album. Unless I just have a strange craving for one particular song (which happens with Deliverance usually). Some Opeth fans you guys are.

I love Harvest. It's one of my favorite songs to play on guitar.

≡≡≡It's a fun song to play indeed.≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ Anyway, I like both songs a lot. Very dark and with a much better lyrical content than some Damnation. |
