Tools playin' Coachella.
IS there any news about a release date more specific than spring? (I saw that on a Lateralus picture disc that I couldn't afford. *sigh*)

A pig in a cage on antibiotics 02-14-2006 05:39 PM

Well seeing as how tool is playin loads of european festivals, does anyone think they might play the Oxegen festival in Ireland?
Is there anyone else here from Ireland, maybe we can all unite and get on a plane and go to L.A and try findin maynards house in the Arizona desert and get some of his wine and if we can't find that we'll try and position ourselves directly under the sun and try and find Adam and if we can't do that go to the lodge and see if Danny's around and.....ahhh screw it, too much effort!!!!

They'd beter come to Ireland though!! If your readin Maynard, Danny, Justin or Adam come on over, you can play at my house!!

Feb. Newsletter is up. Some interesting stuff... and a picture of Danny playing Guitar Hero.

Kage 02-14-2006 09:42 PM

Forget all this Europe crap.

Have they forgotten about the U S of A?

I hope so, then they'll have more time for Canada. :)

Yeah, no kidding. Maybe we'll get some small club mini-tour or something before the albums comes out...or maybe that's just me wishful thinking.

That'd prolly be a California mini-tour. Which would rule.

You don't even understand, last time they were in St. Louis (which was before I was a fan of them so I didn't go) the crowd was apparently bad so they said their not coming back to St. Louis ever again. I'm biting my lip and hoping that they renege on that promise.

Adam Jones is GOD 02-15-2006 06:46 AM

"I'm guessing that the most enthusiastic Tool fans have probably heard all of the band's previously released material, but when the new record comes out in May, these people should try to constrain themselves from listening to the entire CD in one sitting. Save a couple of tracks (or, say, just track #2) for a month, or a couple of months, or for a year, or a couple of years, and then while everyone's itching for new material, YOU HAVE SOME!,. and now it's only a matter of year or so before the next release!"

Blair says something cool.

kurrpt 02-15-2006 07:29 AM

...or you could just NOT loop the CD for 4 months straight

clearvision 02-15-2006 12:47 PM

Danny's ****?

Adam Jones is GOD 02-15-2006 12:49 PM

Im guessing someone's ego got a bit hurt after Maynards dick.

Im waiting for Adam's wang next album
...or you could just NOT loop the CD for 4 months straight
I honestly doubt that anyone in this thread has the will to pull that off.

kurrpt 02-15-2006 12:58 PM

yea, that will be hard at first. at least for me, ive find other, more challenging guitar peices then AJ guitar work. Not to take anything away from the man, i just like working on technique a bit more then crazy ambient noises i cant reproduce

BassMasterMike88 02-15-2006 01:03 PM

Its gonna be impossible not to pick it up for me, Justins bass riffs and use of chords on Lateralus were orgasmic. So I'm expecting a whole buffet of great bass lines to try to learn by ear.

kurrpt 02-15-2006 01:04 PM

yea, learning by ear WOULD require that amount of attension. Maybe ill try that

Looking at riffs like Forty Six & 2 and Shism...I mean, what more can the man create?! Justin>Paul, any day of the week.

Danny's **** = Danny's SOLO?

Could it be? It has the right amount of letters, That would be amazing though, a Danny Carey drum solo.
Anyone think its plausible?

Dried Muffin Remnants 02-15-2006 01:39 PM

Danny's DIIIIIIIICK Danny's DIIIIIIICK

I bet it's bigger than Maynard's.

I ment a whole song solo like John Bonhams Moby Dick or Tim alexanders Drum and whammola jam, not just a solo break like in 46&2 which I think is what your talking about. (unless you have access to tool songs I havn't heard!!)

Everything about DC is huge.

However, I hope it's solo and not dick.

Opeth concert last night was amazing.

thought i'd just in here and say that.

Adam Jones is GOD 02-16-2006 07:01 AM

Out of interest, what was the setlist? Both times I saw them their sets were radically different

Rounder 02-16-2006 07:01 AM
Their first album was nu-metal but it was really good too. Their second album had some modern rock songs and some new metal songs. White Pony was really expirimental and has alot of high acclaim to it. Self-Titled had some really good ideas but weren't put together as well. Whoever did the production on Digital Bath on White Pony really knows what they're doing. The drums sound PERFECT.
From what I understood, Maynard produced Pony didn't he?

IMO that would make sense. Im not a huge Deftones fan, but White Pony is one of my all time favorite albums.

Same here, I really like that album, but im not their biggest fan. Great musicianship, I really don't know why I don't like them more.

Why does everyone hate eMOTIVE?

Futuro 02-16-2006 01:12 PM
Why does everyone hate eMOTIVE?
Im not a big Perfect circle fan anyway. But I went from listening to 13step, Which was really good. Then I bought Emotive and thought it sucked. All the songs are cookie cutting material. The only 2 songs I liked was the remake of When the Levee breaks(Zepplins was still better), And passive I think it is called.

But the mistake everyone made was going into the album expecting a Third Album. I went in expecting a cover album. It really helps. I mean, I love that album.
