My school is kinda outside like, if you know what I mean. Ita a quater-mile long, and the middle of the school is split, so that it makes a massive walkway and two seperate buildings(which are split again horizontally). Its also 2 stories, so I have fun with that. I go on the higher level, and yell(Brad for example) "Brad, this is God!" to people below me. Oh the joy.
yeah stereotype... its the same with me.
when i was 15 - 16 i listend to bands like the strokes, the hives, etc. and dressed like them. with 17 i discovered metal, but the clothes stayed... one year ago they still thought i listen to the strokes and were shocked when i told them the truth... now (soon 20) i start to dress different than 3years ago.
Aint nothin' wrong with a little bit of The Strokes from time to time. |

And when you do that, could you upload 46&2 seperately, for my Featured Song? whoever "you" are. :p Rep may or may not be involved in this deal |
Hey, I like those guys. :) I'll check it out in one minute.
i didnt get into a bit and I have a resentment to Jarboe a bit and I didnt want to make it massive like I wish I did :/. Still took me a long time though. |
I think The Strokes are pretty much a classic example of critics creating a buzz around a band that would never ever exist if looked at reasonably.
Eh, I don't really care what critics think. I like the band because I think they're fun to listen to. |
i didnt get into a bit and I have a resentment to Jarboe a bit and I didnt want to make it massive like I wish I did :/.
Still took me a long time though.
Yeah, those things take me about an hour and a half. I don't mean to be big headed here, But I think mine look the best, no one else really uses the html like I do, so it just looks so plain. But that's just my opinion. |
I love this guy....
Not in a homosexual way, but you're funny. I, too, have a paper to finish.
Wha? I'm flattered, though. |
this thread is very interesting

Welcome to the boards, and to the awesome Tool thread. |
this thread is very interesting
You jumped in at a band time...Usually we talk for endless hours about Tool, but due to lack of new topics, we've been talking about various things, from other prog bands, to school. :p |
we've been talking about various things, from other prog bands, to school.
also to how jake got covered in all those girls in his avatar :)

same here on my Ænima cd. the scratch is on the end of the cd so when it gets to the part where maynards starts singing "so good to see you" thats when it starts to skip. so i have to yet get another one. |
Am I the only one who really dig Emotive? I think they captured a "the doomsday is near" feel throughout the whole album.. It's very atmospheric imo
|
i like emotive as well, the only songs i don't like are gimmie gimmie gimmie and peace, love, and understanding. the rest pretty much set the atomsphere for me.
|
Med comes through again...you're my hero, man. Thanks a lot.

I discovered that the picture of the asian man (he's actually Japanese) on Adam's site is Masaharu Hori (Masa for short). Masa is a rep from the Japanese division of Tool's record label.
Nothing terribly exciting, just thought you'd all want to know. |

The only tracks I liked were Imagine, Passive, When The Levee Breaks (the only cover where they really did some interesting), and Counting Bodies. Overall, the album felt rushed and unfinished, and that APC took a group of classic songs, and for the most part, took everything away and gave nothing back but awkward industrial beats. Jeordie and James weren't even on the album, Josh's immense talents were wasted, and I don't like Billy's voice. Meh. Just my opinion. |
I only liked the first 5...
|
Yeah, I too only liked a few select tracks. I really dig passive though, and Imagine.
|
I really didn't like Passive... the chorus was very, very week IMO.
|
I enjoyed just a few. I love Imagine and Passive, and Counting Bodies track is interesting.

Opiate review
Your review on Opiate is pretty good, but peoples perceptions will differ person to person, and anyone out there reading this...u have to make your own perceptions on life and everything else! Thats what the whole idea on life is!! And surprising or not thats pretty much what maynard is all about!! Dont get me wrong im a huge Tool and A perfect circle fan but im just trying to make a point!! Sorry if this is crap but thats how i feel...
...Oh yeah, did you know that there is a secret track on the "Opiate" vinyl?? Its a pretty good song, but like most Tool songs, strange at first!! Peace out!!!! |

Bought Aenima. Quite frankly, I'm a little dissapointed in it. I love Lateralus, Aenima just seemed like a "nothing" album. Nothing really stood out and it seemed a little try-hard to me, as in they were trying hard to be wierd.
I'll probably love it after a few more spins. However it's gonna have to pry "Scenes from a Memory" from my hands first. |
just keep listening. eventually, you'll love it. every ****ing track. trust me.
