I tend to ignore the less than desirable drum sound, not really that distracting for me.

It's a bit distracting considering the snare is by far the loudest thing in the mix.

The guys playing it is so good though I tend not to care...

I'm usually not picky when it comes to tones unless it becomes the main focus of the album.

I mean when the way the drums are mixed affects the overall vibe of the album...that's kind of a problem if you ask me.

Eh, I'd say a weak tone on a guitar could bring down an album when they could be using a POWERFUL ELITE tone, maybe not ruin it completely but ya.
