He said their best original album since MoP.
Oh, I misread it. Edit: Oh noes! What happened to Mr. Adler!? |
I agree, ...And Justice for All was one of my favorites by them...Dyers Eve is probably my favorite Metallica song next to Fade to Black.
AJFA probably would be my second favorite metallica album if it wasn't for the lack of bass. |
Who was it written by? Or who is it rumoured to be written by?
It was written, well parts were written by Jason before he joined Metallica, sure they finished it off, but it was Jason's song, or so I have heard. Edit:
AJFA is a fantastic album, some great songs on there. To Live Is To Die, arguably the best Metallica instrumental and the more thrashy, great drumming Dyers Eve. One was their first music video, still a great song, and Blackened, another great Metallica album opener. I like every song on it.
I believe Orion is better, Orion is defintely one of my favourite Metallica songs. Hell, all their instrumentals are amazing, and while I dislike ..AJFA, I do have respect for To Live is To Die. |
I believe Orion is better, Orion is defintely one of my favourite Metallica songs.
Hell, all their instrumentals are amazing, and while I dislike ..AJFA, I do have respect for To Live is To Die.
i found Orion like my favorite metallica song, so orion is definetly better than the others instrumentals made by metallica, ktulu and to live is to die are too repetitive in my opininon. |
Notice I said arguably. I still favor Orion over To Live Is To Die.
|
I don't really get it either. I've been listening to ...AJFA constantly and it's an INCREDIBLE album!
St. Anger, is great, easily their best original album since Master of Puppets in my opinion
I say since the Black Album, only because it's heaviest. But I love the solos on Reload. And about instrumentals... Orion> COTK. To Live Is To Die isn't technically an instrumental, but it's just as good, if not better, than Orion (guitar-wise. the bass in orion is THE best.) |
any one else hate the way the verses are sung in fight fire with fire kinda off topic but i was juss wonderin...
|
Nah, I really like that song man.
|
Call of Ktulu and Orion are my favorites, i would probobly say CoK as my favorite. But to live is it die is still awesome.

Uh, jason was in metallica. I dont know how can you say it's not their work if one of the metallica's members wrote it. He might have wrote it before, but it's still his work and he used it in his band. |
I think you're misinterpreting what I said.
I don't mean Metallica doesn't have a right to play it or anything like that. I was just saying Jason wrote it before he joined Metallica (Well, as I said, parts of it at least), and that could be one of the reasons why that's the only song I really like from ..AJFA. |
I dont understand why you guys dont like AJFA. Its incredible, One, Blackened, AJFA, Dyers Eve, To Live Is To Die. My favorite album ever.
AJFA is their greatest album ever!!!!!!! |
any one else hate the way the verses are sung in fight fire with fire kinda off topic but i was juss wonderin...
Yea, each album has one not-so-good song. That's the one for RTL (which is great, skip that one and the rest of the album is incredible). I don't skip it much though, the only not-so-good one's I skip are The Thing That Shuold Not Be and Don't Tread On Me. Those I don't like.
AJFA is their greatest album ever!!!!!!!
It's very good, hardly the greatest. |

Kill Em All - Phantom Lord Ride the Lightning - Escape Master of Puppets - Leper Messiah And Justice for All - Eye of the Beholder Those are the worst on each album for me. |
Kill Em All - Phantom Lord
Ride the Lightning - Escape Master of Puppets - Leper Messiah And Justice for All - Eye of the Beholder Those are the worst on each album for me.
I agree with KEA and AJFA's, but for RTL I'd go with FFWF and for MOP I'd go with TTTSNB (lot's of abbreviations) And then I'm not sure what the worst would be for Load/Reload/Garage/St. Anger since I don't own any of those (my sis owns St Anger, but I haven't put it on this comp yet) |
i didnt really like anything off of Load Reload and St. Anger...but thats just me
|
Kill Em All - Phantom Lord

Ride the Lightning - Escape Master of Puppets - Leper Messiah And Justice for All - Eye of the Beholder Those are the worst on each album for me.
I agree with you except on escape. That song is friggin awesome. I'd say worst song on RTL is either fight fire with fire or for whom the bell tolls. Trapped under ice is not that good of a song for me either. |
All those songs rock \m/
I don't skip anything from Kill 'em All to Matser.
Same, they are still good songs, just not as good as the rest. I dont skip them though. |

I just noticed a few things with both Kirk and Cliff.. #1- Soft intro, hardcore metal song #2- album titled song #3- a real headbanger song #4- soft intro, but no doubt the best song on each cd 5, 6, 7, 8- heavy metal, one instrumental |

Exceptions include: 1. Hit the lights, the intro isnt soft. 2. 4 Horsemen 3. All Metallica songs are headbanger songs 4. JITF has no soft intro, and isnt the best on the cd IMO. |

My bad, i guess i just assumed you were talking about the first 4 albums. In that case you are right then. |
My bad, i guess i just assumed you were talking about the first 4 albums. In that case you are right then.
No prob, the AJFA album kind of followed in that trend, but it fell apart during the Black Album (which is ok with me, Sad But True is one of my Metallica favorites) post... 4444! ok Metallica fans, goooooodnight  |

Notice they tried to do the same thing on St. Anger kinda. Opening up with the more speedy, as I've heard someone say "slamming" song, then the title track, etc... |
Kill Em All - Phantom Lord
Ride the Lightning - Escape Master of Puppets - Leper Messiah And Justice for All - Eye of the Beholder Those are the worst on each album for me.
KEA-No Remorse RTL-Escape MOP-Leper Messiah AJFA-The shortest straw Metallica-Enter Sandman Load-Cure ReLoad-Bad Seed St. Anger-Shoot me Again i think those are the worst imo, most of them i really skip, and yes i like more Ronnie than Cure. As for a their worst cover, probably would be the stairway to heaven(live only), but in a record it would probably be it's electric. |
3. I'm stating to like bad seed more and more these days. Enter sandman is good, but it has been overplayed too much it can get boring after listening to it more than once. |
I like escape, .
me too, but compared to the other RTL songs, it doesn't have the same power. hard choice on that 'cause my favorite album is RTL. |
I am just wondering if there are any Metallica fans, like me, who enjoy all of their albums including St. Anger?
i do, i think st. anger is a good album i dont know why all say its a bad album. |
i like whiskey in the jar
so what for whom the bell tolls am i evil? wherever i may roam(s&m version most) and some solo's that are just improvised on live gigs. :thumb: (which is pretty hard, but no one knows the solo so if you make mistakes they wont hear it) :p |
i do, i think st. anger is a good album
i dont know why all say its a bad album.
Same here. I do, however, think I know why people say St. Anger sucks. It's simply because it's so different. But then again, if bands were to play the same style of music over and over again, wouldn't everybody (the band included) get bored out of their minds? So (****ing) what if 'tallica want to try something new? |
I never got the power metal songs, but thats alright! I still feel I should hook you guys up with what I said I would. So here you guys are. They're from 'yousendit' so its first come first serve and I dont know when Ill be reuploading so please dont beg! hahaha!

So (****ing) what if 'tallica want to try something new?
Exactly. I'm glad they tried something new that wasn't like Reload. Reload wasn't so heavy metal, but St. Anger was extremely heavy (I just miss solos...)
um isn'y track #3 "Holier Then Thou"????
Yes, and by saying "#3- all metallica songs are headbangers" he didn't mean the 3rd on each cd, he just meant all of them (except NEM (well the whole song, but there are parts)) |
(I just miss solos...)
I would miss solos, if it was any band other then Metallica, Kirk hasn't been able to solo since ..AJFA (Save arguments :p), bar one or to songs (Unforgiven definately deserves a mention, I've been listenning to this heaps lately, it is great, still doesn't change my opinion of Black Album though :p) |
