il work with that tab, thanks
|
hey, mitch, i had an idea yesterday while i was falling asleep... what do you think if we do a song together? maybe a cob song? i play the rhythm parts (which i should be able to play :p ) and you will record the lead-parts?!
Hmm, sounds like a brilliant idea but I'm not sure if I'd be able to play one of the solos PERFECTLY. You know how much of a perfectionist I am. :upset:
lol at mitchs 'taste good' post. ive got that video on my myspace. im checkin out that tab now il work with that tab, thanks
:D I actually went into the shop and said: "Do you have any D Addario strings, 10-50?" After he said no and I came back, I asked: "Oh wait, it's not 10-50, it's D Addario 11-50, you got those?" After he said no again, he directed me to 11-50 DR's. Then it fucking hit me that those were the ones I wanted from the start. wtf  |
lol excellent. ive been meaning to try out those strings, gonna have to get some ernie ball 11 - 50's instead, coz i dont think they sell DR's round here :S
|
lol
we don't need to play the whole song, solo included - it would be ok if we skip the solo ;) |
lol
we don't need to play the whole song, solo included - it would be ok if we skip the solo ;)
Well what song do you have in mind? When I bought the strings, the guy told me the people that make them have stopped supplying them to the shop that I go to so there's only like 4 packs left. After that, I'll have to get them elsewhere or just use Ernie Balls again. I might not even like the thickness of them yet. |
yeah i was quite surprised when alexi said he used them, especially seeing as hes a lead guitarist. let me know what there like :) wanna try em myself but restringing floatin trem guitars is frustrating, i like to do it as little as possible lol
|
no, i don't have a song in mind... first of all i have to play guitar again... so we have time to decide on one - a song both of us are able to play.... and not tooooo fast ;) the max. speed i've reached is about 120-140/150, so it shouldn't be faster.
any suggestions? btw. is alexi using 11-50? |
im runnning 10s at the moment.
I swear by DR strings myself. I refuse to by anything else now |

no i haven't seen the video :(
this is a nice list... i would prefer something from their older albums, so not In your face and livind dead beat.... but how i said... first of all my wrist should be healed and afterwards i will need some weeks to get where i was before :( |
wussy talk ITT

But yeah, not many of their songs are at those kind of tempos so you'll just have to listen to them all and decide yourself. Maybe Downfall? It's at 190 but it's strumming octaves in 8th notes. You'd need to post a sample first before we did it properly though. |
yeah, ok... i will watch the tabs and will look if i would be able to play it and then i will make a list, k?
|
Sounds good to me. I might have to borrow that amp I used for Bodom After Midnight because this Korg thing sucks for rhythm tones.
|
^^
but don't expect anything started in the near future... so maybe earliest in one week, propably in 2weeks i'll be ready. my wrist seems ok now, but today my sinews hurt a little bit... |
2 weeks!! Man, I wanna rip, now!!!
At least it gives me a chance to prepare. Mayb I'll be able to play something that's at least close to one of Alexi's solos. It's a shame Kurrpt can't record, we could have got him to record the guitars for Bed of teh Raz0rs. |
i don't give a fukk motherfukker!!
yeah ok... right now i watch the nosturi-video afterwards i will check out the tabs and maybe i will make a list... it will be hard to say if i would be able to play something without trying out, but i know approxametly what i am "able" to play and what not. yeah, but if kurrpt would be able to record i won't be able to join the game kurrpt & Mitch > me edit: and i forgot what i wanted to ask... ^^ to the topic about strings... is it much harder to play on 11-50s? what is the difference while playing? more pressure? |
yea, it's kind of a mixed bag with the recording. I'm not happy with my playing enough to want to record regularly, but it would be nice for things of this nature.
Like I said before, if I were serious enough about recording something, I could talk to the guy that works 3 desks over, who apparently has a home recording studio. I really want to get these SNBM sweeps perfect before that point. It seems kinda dumb to plan something, only to record 4 minutes, at the most 3-5 takes, or 20 minutes. If anything, I should have like 3 songs worth to record before I go and bug him, ya know |
everytime i die is a winner. if u can get the intro soundin good
|

precisely...
I'm also working on getting the rhythm parts to "Bodom Beach Terror" up to speed. |

I'll let you know when I stick em on if it makes alot of difference.
yea, it's kind of a mixed bag with the recording. If anything, I should have like 3 songs worth to record before I go and bug him, ya know
That makes sense, definately. But if you could just record even with crapy quality, you'll realise what you actually sound like. I mean, sometimes I think I sound amazing when I record something. As soon as I listen back, I can hear myself using crappy vibrato, being out of time, out of tune bends etc. It really straightens out your playing, even if you think you can play something well.
everytime i die is a winner. if u can get the intro soundin good
Indeedy. I can play that intro, and the rest of the song is a piece of cake except the solo. |
I know what you mean about recording yourself to get that outsider's perspective, but I've adopted that a long time ago, hence the fact I'm not trying to "rush" into getting my technique up to speed.
Bends is something I need to work on. I get lazy sometimes and don't always focus on hitting a desired pitch |
Indeedy. I can play that intro, and the rest of the song is a piece of cake except the solo.
all the tabs for that solo are completely wrong. its actually a complex solo aint it |
from all the songs from your list, i think "Bed of Razors" would be the best choice for me (rhythm part)
|
Bed of Razors rhythm is very simple
|
ok... and "Everytime i Die".
... we can record both songs...
Bed of Razors rhythm is very simple
didn't you once say that you had problems with the rhythm?! |
ok... and "Everytime i Die".
... we can record both songs... didn't you once say that you had problems with the rhythm?!
not for that song... I know I had to work on the rhythm parts, but those were easy to get right. It was the solo (part of it) and the 5 string sweeps w/tap that took me the most amount of time |
Bed of Razors: there's not a tap, btw.
all the tabs for that solo are completely wrong. its actually a complex solo aint it
Yerp. This is how he plays it. http://download.yousendit.com/E3B112B4486EBB66 |
u gonna use midi keyboards for this recording, or someone gonna do it?
im off guys, ciao |
well, then wouldn't he have to slide on the high E
repcak : As far as that rhythm section is concerned, I was having a problem with the chugging chord section. In the one tab they had you chug the open D string 3 times, it was the chord chug chord part that was giving problems with the second beat. I just ommitted the chug part, so it would go "chug chug chug Deh Dah chug chug chug dah deh" instead of "chug chug deh chug dah chug chug chug dah chug deh" Hopefully that made sense to someone else besides me |
Not sure about keys, might as well use MIDI. It's not going to be a full blown cover, just a bit of the song for fun, I thinks.
well, then wouldn't he have to slide on the high E
Yepperz. http://download.yousendit.com/01C71853312D7A9D |
yea, I practised it boths (with tap and with slide)
I found the slide harder, so i practice it that way more often did you understand that chug chug chug business? |
Nope.
|
yea, i didn't think so...
I could have referenced tabs, but thats not exactly my style. I think if Repcak starts working on the rhythm track, he'll have an idea of what I'm talking about. I ommited a open D string pluck because I felt I could phrase the chords better, so it seemed like a necessary evil |
i'm not sure, but i think i know what you could have meant ;)
btw. Mitch, upload the tabs of EID and BoR so that i will know which tab version i should learn... |
I think I understand what you did. I'm playing through it now and I'm pretty rusty on it. And so are these strings....!!
|
Zing Mitch
|
I was thinking about recording the Hatebreeder solos with Repcak. The rhythm is pathetically easy and the solos are managable, I guess. I'll work on it.
|
well, maybe you could count me in on that in a couple of days...
I'm working on Bodom Beach and those SNBM sweeps. I wouldn't mind tackleing some sections of that track |
