The china is the sexiest cymbal I have ever seen in person. So many hammering marks it's not even funny.

Seafroggys 01-22-2006 01:50 AM

i tried out a 21" K Heavy Ride

very nice, but didn't seem very loud to me...

Double Bass Jim 01-22-2006 01:53 AM

Id bet you like it alot more if I wrote "new beat" in sharpie on it

rockindrummer 01-22-2006 01:54 AM

mmm K cymbals. I sometimes wish I could go out and buy a whole set of Ks.

Ew, BB wakes up at 8 in the morning.

fgt.

rockindrummer 01-22-2006 02:05 AM

I hate all the n00bs who can't spell for shit I mean it isn't really that hard. Like some dude spelt snare like snair. Then this other guy was using all of the IM slang and crap.

Brokensticks 01-22-2006 02:07 AM

It makes me want to throw my gatorade bottle at them. Or maybe just the lid... I like the bottle.

haha priceless

I dunno maybe it was the room I was in (big open showroom area, lots of gear, carpetting, etc.) but it didn't seem that loud, though the ping was to die for.

Maybe a 22" would suit better!

Only way to tell is to take em home, they always sound different everywhere.

Brokensticks 01-22-2006 02:38 AM

I have a 20" B8 ride, a 14" B8 Pro thin crash, an 18" AAX studio crash (which I love to death, actually I love both of my crashes.) and 14" xs20 hats.
true, sabian is teh pure pwnage.
I'm not sorry that's hardly true. Not only is the owner of Sabian's last name Zildjian... heh... but the cymbals just so happen to identically match Zidljians line, except you know, they come out like a year or two later.

Actually I have this theory about the zildjian brothers splitting jst to create more revenue, they really work in tandom. Wich would be a brilliant move if that's the case...

Either way the whole Vault thing really kick Sabian down on the poll of "cool". It ain't cool to copy others.

Motleyguy 01-22-2006 03:59 AM

ugh my lead drummer should not be allowed to write drum scores for our corps.

/is angry at weird sticking that is totally illogical.

Talos 01-22-2006 05:38 AM

I always knew Zildjian pwn Sabian

Drum Phil 01-22-2006 05:41 AM

To be fair neither zildjian nor sabian pwn the other. Both have some awesome cymbals.

gimp fest 01-22-2006 05:55 AM

sorry guys but i need some quick help, couldn't be bothered to start another head thread. would coated evens g1's or g2's sound good over clear ambs?

Drum Phil 01-22-2006 05:57 AM

G1's for sure.

Can anyone drum and sing at the same time? Ive just been watching Adam Carson do it and i never really got the hang of it.

Talos 01-22-2006 05:59 AM
Can anyone drum and sing at the same time? Ive just been watching Adam Carson do it and i never really got the hang of it.
Yeah I do backing vocals for my band. You just need to concentrate on what your playing and not what youre singing because you mess the beat up. It takes some practice, I used to talk to people whilst playing so I could get used to it. Now I can do it easily, but its the confidence that messes it up for me.

gimp fest 01-22-2006 06:00 AM

sweet thanks.

i try but always end up realising im drumming the wrong beat.

CasB 01-22-2006 06:01 AM

Whoohoo!!!

Our gig last night was really cool! Although the soundguy was an as.s, the show went really well. We even got the whole show on DVD, that's a thing they always do at that venue when there's a band.

Right now I'm ripping the DVD so I can put it online somewhere :D

Drum Phil 01-22-2006 06:02 AM

I can do simple backing stuff, just the more complex stuff throws me off.

Talos 01-22-2006 06:02 AM
i try but always end up realising im drumming the wrong beat.
Thats what happened to me, just concentrate on the beat and not the words, at least if you say the wrong word you dont put everyone out of time.

gimp fest 01-22-2006 06:04 AM
Thats what happened to me, just concentrate on the beat and not the words, at least if you say the wrong word you dont put everyone out of time.
cool, i might try some backing vocals for my band and some growling for my grind side project
