Things are pretty informal usually, there's no dedicated system for deciding this sort of thing. It's understood that MX will read all the views before deciding, I think.

popinfresh 10-31-2004 09:48 PM
LR is still AWOL, Madthumbs hasn't commented/hasn't seen it.

Bartender does CD reviews, JmE and Scarred are supermods. DBJ (DoubleBassJim) is an assistant Admin, he's second only to MX himself.
Is jeremy behind it? Or is it the mods decisions?

Wintermute 10-31-2004 09:49 PM
Ranked in what way? posts? or time here?
'Contribution to the site' - Which is impossible to measure. It's utterly relative and a matter of opinion. Which will lead to arguments.

Many mods and supers agree with it though.
Is jeremy behind it? Or is it the mods decisions?
It's StageFrightKen's idea. Apparently it's worked well on other forums, so I asked him for a link to one, and on that site the ranking system was based on monetary donations, which are easy to measure, and brook no debate.

Jeremy either hasn't seen it yet or hasn't commented.

That's the bunny.

And a supermod has the power to ban users, and has mod powers in ever forum on the boards. The only thing I can do outside bass is access the mod forum and see users in stealth mode... ME FOR SUPER! :D :upset:

Foxfire 10-31-2004 09:56 PM

Maybe at 10,000 posts...

:p

bottlerocket 10-31-2004 09:57 PM

^ Definitely...

I posted a small little post in the thread. I know it won't mean anything, but it's something. If it helps, I guess.

^ Dude I'm starving.

By the way, at GC, nothing happened. My dad stayed in the car while I played some basses ('Vette, MM Ray 5, MM Sterling, fretless Japanese Jazz, a few other basses, and some acoustic guitars/basses).

Heh, I posted.

Wintermute for super!

Nice comment in the Site forum there, Gav.

You'll probably get banned being that 3 or so mods are there to witness your spamming. :p

Only like 2 people have Gav points right now. One is Wintermute and theres probably another. Thats not a good distribution system.

:upset:

Wintermute 10-31-2004 10:14 PM

Whew... MX just came by in the Mod forum. His comment wasn't conclusive, but it does seem to be against the idea. Basically along the lines that VBulletin does have an inbuilt system for this, and that he has considered it, but it would be a lot of work, and it isn't something we should argue over.

Oh yeah - I forget who it was was asking me why the Old L&A Archive is locked - I don't know, I wasn't able to find out, but I did find out the password. I can't give it out, but I can extract an article for you, if you were after one in specific.

around here....canada.....
every house gives out candy and has like a pumpkin

its one of the best holidays next to chrismas

Wintermute 10-31-2004 10:33 PM

It's basically one of the few paganistic festivals which the catholic church failed to throttle, (though they did try) so the confectionary industry stepped in instead.

ocdrumandbass 10-31-2004 10:33 PM

15% of americans aged 6-19 are obese. i think we are better off with out halloween.

Actually the Catholic Church stepped in on Halloween when it was intentionally a pagan holiday, in hopes of squashing it and making people forget. Unless that's what you were saying.

Foxfire 10-31-2004 10:35 PM

We gave out hotdogs today for Halloween, and soda.

In the words of my friend: "yay, questionable meat and wasted carbs."

popinfresh 10-31-2004 10:35 PM
