I just finally listened to Converge's "Caring and Killing".
I actually liked it alot more than I thought I would.

WFCC is still my favorite.

I have yet to hear You Fail me though
You Fail Me is good but everyone blows loads over it all the time and it's not great, especially compared to their past efforts.

iamtherobots 08-29-2009 11:30 PM

Everything pre-Jane Doe sounds really amateur tbh.

gfto

lol jk

but i do like the older stuff better tbh

Against Miik! 08-30-2009 12:02 AM

Petitioning The Empty Sky is my favorite.

Color Me Blood Red is most elite.

DBlitz 08-30-2009 01:37 AM

yea Petitioning is awesome

I've only heard You Fail Me once and its the weakest out of all the converge I've listened to

Nepenthe 08-30-2009 02:17 AM
Everything pre-Jane Doe sounds really amateur tbh.
thats kind of why its so much more badass than everything post-jane doe
thats kind of why its so much more badass than everything post-jane doe
That may be the truest thing ive ever heard.
thats kind of why its so much more badass than everything post-jane doe
good call

RetiredAt21 08-30-2009 11:40 AM

I like the rough and raw sound of their older albums, and it's not like it's to the point where you can't here what's going on and it just sounds like noise. It's raw but not too raw like some black metal is.

iamtherobots 08-30-2009 01:40 PM
thats kind of why its so much more badass than everything post-jane doe
i disagree but whatever

RetiredAt21 08-30-2009 01:42 PM

I dunno how over-production is appealing.

iamtherobots 08-30-2009 01:47 PM

Ya dude, new Converge is overproduced.

RetiredAt21 08-30-2009 01:48 PM

Compared to PtES or WFCC it is.

iamtherobots 08-30-2009 01:49 PM

Are you ****ing daft dude?

RetiredAt21 08-30-2009 01:51 PM

What if I said yes.

iamtherobots 08-30-2009 01:52 PM

A lot of things would make sense. :p

RetiredAt21 08-30-2009 01:54 PM

Then yes, yes I am.

Six Foot Revolver 08-30-2009 02:07 PM

listening to caring and killing for the first time in ages and it's so much better than i remember.

iamtherobots 08-30-2009 02:08 PM

Does anybody else love the megaman sound bite at the beginning of Letting Go Of Tonight by Underoath?

RetiredAt21 08-30-2009 02:50 PM

Never heard the song but a Megaman sound bite is cool nonetheless.

HighandDriving 08-30-2009 02:52 PM

I had no clue that was from megaman, seriously the ugly fat kid is his best on TCOT.

It's very good. I love the song Two Day Romance.

Nepenthe 08-30-2009 03:31 PM
i disagree but whatever
i just prefer the rougher around the edges style of the early albums. farewell note to this city, albatross, buried but breathing, those songs are quite amateur sounding indeed, but thats what makes them so good. newer stuff isnt overproduced, but theyve honed their technicality to such an incredible degree that it loses that wild and unpolished feeling of the first couple, despite how chaotic the music still is. i enjoy every one of their albums tho.

nator 08-30-2009 03:33 PM

well at least bannon stopped singing really out of tune

Nepenthe 08-30-2009 03:37 PM

thats what makes farewell note to this city sound so cool tho
Heiling some Evita.

Don't care what anyone says this band is good and are insane live.
Band is good, but you dont care

RetiredAt21 08-30-2009 04:27 PM

THIS TIME IT'S WAR
THIS TIME IT'S WAR

song rules so hard, it's crazy.

those songs you mentioned arent the amateur sounding ones

for instance i love the saddest day, but some of the breakdowns in that song are lolololol

Nepenthe 08-30-2009 05:30 PM

saddest day is pretty amateur. as are the breakdowns. but theyre all sick as ****.

iamtherobots 08-30-2009 05:41 PM

the one is korn

Nepenthe 08-30-2009 05:43 PM

wait what? i dont really know what you mean. are you saying one of the breakdowns is in a korn song?

iamtherobots 08-30-2009 05:45 PM

yes actually, and one's in a deftones song

iirc the deftones one came first and the korn one years later

still makes me lol whenever i hear it

TomTheOverlord 08-30-2009 11:16 PM

bannon sounds bad in no heroes

DBlitz 08-31-2009 01:33 AM

the rest of no heroes is good though

2muchket! 08-31-2009 02:44 AM
Band is good, but you dont care
SlightlyEpic 08-31-2009 07:17 AM

Listening to Deadguy again for the first time in forever. Forgot how awesome they were.

HighandDriving 08-31-2009 07:45 AM

Deadguy are sweeeet.

TomTheOverlord 08-31-2009 04:14 PM

holy crap.
i just relistened to 7 angels 7 plagues
such an amazing band

its funny how many gay bands that are popular today to try imitate them

xMalcolmXx 08-31-2009 04:19 PM

7a7p and deadguy are both awesome. i haven't listened to 7a7p in awhile though, i might just change that.

edit: i changed that.
