bottlerocket 10-31-2004 09:00 PM

^ Everyone hates us, but I think they shouldn't. You shouldn't hate American people, just the government.

That being said, I won't express my political views (it boils down to: I like the government and way of life here, just not the people who run it or the manner in which its run).

:moving on:

How was everyone's Halloween?

Pretty good.

I didnt go trick or treating or anything because I really havent ahd the urge to go in years. I went to a kick ass party yesterday, though. And ended up crashing at that guys house.

bottlerocket 10-31-2004 09:04 PM

^ Yeah, my friends and I only hit one house for candy. Other than that, we went to Salem with some biotches (Salem = Salem Witch Trials, which really occured in Salem Village, which is really present-day Danvers. Basically, Salem is a rip off for witches  88% the hangings/trials/witches were in Salem Village/Danvers, not Salem City/Salem.)

It was pretty sweet.

Sounds like a good Halloween idea. Though it must have been a lot more crowded than on a normal day.

I got three numbers  Some WICKED HOT GIRL walked by and was like "GO RED SOX!!" and I yelled "GO GAV GETTING YOUR NUMBER!" and I got it. I'm such a P-I-M-P!

Hah, if you come over, Gav, I'll have to show you some of the sites in the Pendle Witch Trials, which took place in Lancaster Castle.

Most famous witch trials in the UK, possibly in Europe.

I think roughly 40,000 were put to death in Europe while only about 30 (at the most) were put to death in Salem (and one was by being crushed to death. He wouldn't put in a plea for gulity or not guilty, and they couldn't put you on trial until you did. Therefore, they'd throw you in a box and drop a crapload of stones on you. Apparently his last words were "More weight. Fun fact)

I'll definitely check that out, though.

It said 60,000 people were in Salem tonight on the news. Awesome. I rule.

Now I'm pissed off. I've spent all night debating various things, each in well measured, mature fashions. On MSN, in the politics forum, and in the mod forum.

On MSN we argued for ages, before boiling it down to a fundamental difference in ideology and calling it a night. In the Politics forum we argued long and hard, and eventually finished the topic, and moved onto other things. In the mod forum, (the most important here, we were debating a critical change to the way the site works which I am very much against, whereas the others were just philosophy) partway through the debate, my principle opponent, who is a supermod, and therefore has mod power in the mod forum, which I do not, just says 'I still disagree' and then closes the thread.

That's just a fucking cowardly dodge, abusing mod powers while he's at it.

Will this mod's name remain hidden?

And that's pretty cowardly especially for a mod. Does that kind of immaturity go on among the mods? If so, then Im afraid.

Oh hell, it's no secret, it's been mentioned in the site forum, for some reason...

It's a proposed user ranking system, based on an utterly relative scale, which can only lead to elitism, complaints and damage to the online community.

The numbers should over rule DBJ but then again it seems fairly un-democratic with what you just explained. Also shouldnt they ask the members?

ocdrumandbass 10-31-2004 09:44 PM

ive been here for a year and im 4000 posts behind some n00bs in the pit :(

Wintermute 10-31-2004 09:45 PM

LR is still AWOL, Madthumbs hasn't commented/hasn't seen it.

Bartender does CD reviews, JmE and Scarred are supermods. DBJ (DoubleBassJim) is an assistant Admin, he's second only to MX himself.

Wintermute 10-31-2004 09:46 PM
The numbers should over rule DBJ but then again it seems fairly un-democratic with what you just explained. Also shouldnt they ask the members?
Hah, get over to the site forum and voice displeasure. So far the members love it.

e p 10-31-2004 09:46 PM

I'm aware that DBJ is the highest.

Yet one would think the number of mods/supers would outrule him.
