I want to go to Iceland.
I want to go to Alaska.
You're so indie. Why don't you go listen to your GYBE vinyls. |
Alaska looks boring boring BORING (except during the summer of course), but boring boring BORING.
I want to go to England more than anywhere else. |
What do you guys think of this song I just recorded? I was just playing around with the guitar and made up some lyrics and recorded it. This is the first take, what do you guys think of the idea of it? Should I record it again, and flesh it out? Should I give up on music? Should I just leave it how it is--raw and real? You guys decide!

I just woke up and I wish I didn't.

England seems like it'd completely bore me, it always looks so grey and miserable, every time I see it.

Just picked up:
Pixies - Bossanova DJ Shadow - Endtroducing Am I indie yet?
oh god, why? I'll grant you London is pretty special, but nowehere else in this country is worth visiting.
Ah, I went to London once, it was awesome. It was crazy expensive, though. |

Nah, London's the shoddy bit. |

well first you need something that can help you keep time, because you were off a lot. I liked the beginning of it, but that was it. No real interesting harmony, melody, or anything. Also it was pretty atonal. :p |
London fooking sucks
don't lie
Babe, come on now. You know me, when do I ever have anything nice to say about anything? Not very often. So you have to know that I'm lying when I'm talking about Canada. |
*cold
Yeah in like, the Yukon and shit. Where I live it gets up to 35C in the summer. |

I buy all my albums on Vinyl and I don't even have a record player.

I saw Colin Meloy last night. First opening act was Amy Annelle. Pretty songs, but a bit boring. Laura Veirs was the next opener, who put on a pretty good show. Interesting songwriting and some great guitar work. On multiple songs, she would start using a pedal to make loops, so a giant symphony of her own vocals and guitar would begin to form. Very cool.
Colin Meloy himself was really wonderful. His random props (a sheep statue, a skull, and a ship, each of which he had named) and anecdotes were highly amusing. Plus, most performers tug around their bottle of water, but no, Colin Meloy is too cool for that. He instead had a bottle of red wine to replenish himself between songs. The majority of what he played was Decermbists songs, so when he would get to an electric guitar/string/female vocal solo, he'd make some comment about it while he and the rest of the audience would hum/sing the part. He played two songs with John Wesley Harding, and sounded great all through the night. I highly recommend seeing him if he comes around to your town. |
Nah, London's the shoddy bit.
What's the good bit then? London is so magical...I could sit and watch life go by there for hours.
I guess it's because I don't go all that often but I bloody love London. If you can get away from all the commercial areas there are some of trendiest yet most tradtional shops and venues around. I'm going there on Sunday and plan on strolling down Denmark Street to stare at guitars I can't afford, then I'm off to London Astoria for Corrosion of Conformity! w00t. |
England is nice. I really liked London, but I've heard many times that it's only good if you're visiting. I also went to York, which was pretty nice too.
I want to live in New York one day though, because that's still the best city I've been to. Maybe my mind will change when I visit Melbourne. |
I lent two of my DVDs to someone who is really clumsy last night. If they come back scratched I will probably cry.

^You should've included threat letters inside the cases. How was everyone's week? So I had my Chem exam yesterday, wasn't so bad.
|
I'm going to London this summer
|
I'm going to Jamaica :)
|
I was just informed that in two weeks I'm going to the Dominican
|
I'm going to Modesto. :o
|
I'm going to Costa Rica for reading week, but I kind of want to just chill and study since I have two midterms and an essay due the day after I get back.
|
Nah, screw that. Party and then come back and vomit on your professors.

Say hi to my aunt. |
I would but I'm going to be too busy saying hi to my dad's dead uncle.

I have a tendency to vomit out words on exams so hey this may work to my advantage. |
I'm an academic decathlete.

I'm off to a good start to what is turning out to be an amazing weekend.
Alaska gets amazingly warm in the summer. I camped there in the summer of 2001. The sun. Never. Goes. Down. I want to travel too....specifically London, Paris, and Australia if I can manage it. np: Bob Dylan - Mississippi |

A year or so ago when I saw pictures of David Johansen of the New York Dolls, I thought he looked familiar. Now, having just watched an episode of Pete & Pete in which he plays a forest ranger, I know why.
|
Ahhhhh, it's good to be back at school.
Hahahahahaha, "school," hahahaha |
I called the college radio station while I was waiting in line at the car wash and requested Green Machine by Kyuss. I think the dj wants to have sex with me now.
|
:naughty:
I considered working at our radio station, but I'm too damn lazy. |
My music has been played on college radio. That's not very amazing.

Anyway, weekend: Went to a small birthday party Thursday, snowboarding all day Friday, and today I'm going to a local show with a girl I might be asking out. |
