No, some day YOU'LL learn that sex is the only thing that matters, when all of sudden your wife turns into an old hag. Something tells me you won't "love" her as much when she's dry pvssy.
edit: excuse this 'licentious' post hahaha |
I was gonna say, 'yowza.'
Except at extreme moments of horniness every once in a while, I'm not interested in having sex until it's something meaningful with a girl I really like. cigaro - Very interesting story. Could you have been dreaming the entire time, perhaps? |
Sex isn't as fun when it isn't meaningful.
That is why at this point in my life, I will say sex is overrated. Anyone smart would deduce that I have not had anything meaningful, which would be correct. This is relevant to Tool, because I am listening to 4 Degrees, a song about opening up. :) |
Anyway, what does everyone think of my astral communication story?
Oh and Kage I have an album for you. Extol-The Blueprint Dives I could see you liking this. |
The power of suggestion is a real kicker.
|
Jake - You and me both. ;)
Anyway, what does everyone think of my astral communication story?
It's shaky, but things like that do happen to me quite a lot. I think when you have a close personal connection with a person, there is some kind of astral connection as well. I find that my brother and I have experiences similar to what you talked about, although, obviously with significantly different details.
Oh and Kage I have an album for you.
/rubs hands together. |

Some cool stuff on there. |
/rubs hands together.
So I sent it. |
To all of those talking about sex:
Having sex is fun. It doesn't matter who it is with. I have a few female friends that I am close friends with, but if we are horny we will have sex with each other. It doesn't mean we are all out sleeping with a million people or whatever. What it comes down to is that sex feels good. It is nice being close to another person for that moment. And may I repeat that it feels great. Sure, some will say that having sex with someone you care about feels better. Which it may (or may not), at times, but the problem is that a large percent of these people have not been experienced enough of these other relationships, or regular relationships for that matter, to make a critical judgement on the matter. But, in my opinion first (or the first couple) time sex is great (but wear protection). With the protection that is available today, in my opinion, there is no reason to not have sex with random people if you feel inclined. One may bring up the possibility of contracting an STD. Well, to be honest if you are wearing protection the chance of that happening is slim. Another may bring up the chance of pregnancy. Well, if you wear a condom that is not likely to happen. And a decent percent of sexually active women are on the pill, so that helps. In the end, having sex is fun, and with the right precautions, is just as safe, if not more safe, than a wide spectrum of activities that young, immature, people are involved with. |
Erm.. you took it a bit far, stop now.
So new album next week... |
I get constant eargasms while listening to Pig Destroyer - Terrifyer.
Half an hour of musical bliss... And it never gets old.
The production is so crisp and clear, yet it still has that spastic grind energy to it, and doesn't sound over-produced. The guitar is the heaviest and best I've heard. And the riffing in every song is completely different, which is amazing. The vocals... aren't harsh at all. They're the only bad thing. The drums play such catchy beats and are so fast... woooo. I wouldn't call it bliss, but yes it's probably the best grind I've heard. |
About the astral projection; unlikely it was anything significant. Your unconscious will have the desire to hear her say "I love you", and she apparently loves you, so may have thought she said it, or is perhaps only saying it because you asked and she reconstructed the memory. I believe there are some things that are paranormal, but that story dosn't strike me as being particulary paranormal at all.
About having sex with friends; sex leads to loads of emotion, and emotional attachment for most people. Casual sex, especially with people you know can lead to one person getting the wrong idea, and friendships can suffer or break up for it. Sex for fun is totally fine, I'd just recommend them being strangers (So long as you make sure you use protection, preferably both of you, if not, definately the guy to avoid STI's). The best thing is sex with someone you care about a lot though, in my experience. I've been with my current girlfriend for over two years now, and it's all great. Casual sex wouldn't be quite as fulfilling. I couldn't see myself laying next to someone for hours afterwards, etc. and just being intimate in other ways. Sex isn't the 'be all and end all'. |
Well the thing is, I'm really into astral projection and lucid dreaming and such. It could just be nothing but I'd like to figure out if we're capable of having conversations with other people while we sleep. It's really interesting to me and I'd like to look into it more. |
I do lucid dreaming every couple of nights. Isn't that when you can take control of your dream? Or if you wake up from a dream, go back to sleep and continue where you left off?
|
one thing about real dreams is that you are not aware until you wakeup. but i was aware and my mind was seeing something else.
Being aware of your dreaming while it is occuring is called lucid dreaming. |
I do lucid dreaming every couple of nights. Isn't that when you can take control of your dream? Or if you wake up from a dream, go back to sleep and continue where you left off?
its REALLY only cogniscent dreaming. If you go from a waking state, immediately into a lucid dream its called a WILD, or a waking induced lucid dream controlling your dreams is a totally different aspect of dreaming |
Well, I can do both. While I'm dreaming, I'll be fully aware that I'm dreaming and then just "run around" doing stuff that doesn't seem to happen the way it was originally intended.

The majority of the dreams i remember are lucid. It's not often i'm not in control, because i don't like not being in control. If i do stuff that is not normal for me to do IRL, more often than not i wake up.
Though this thread is pretty damn wierd now, isn't merkaba's thread in politics still open? (Rob complaining about conversation topic in the tool thread  ) |
I've had those dreams, somewhat like lucid dreams, where it's like you're dreaming, but your body isn't. So, in reality, your body is somewhat doing what's happening in the dream.
It's like, if you jump in the dream, you jump in real life. However, you're jumping while laying down on a bed, so it feels really weird. :amaze: |
No, unless I'm mistaken, lucid dreaming is when you control what happens in the dream, like what you do in it.
|
On the topic of dreaming, has anyone else here experienced sleep paralysis? It's a really frightening condition where your mind is fully aware but your body refuses to function, and it occurs right after (before?) waking up.
|
That album is so solid and fresh everytime it's put on.
Didn't you need some Pig Destroyer stuff from me awhile back? I completely forgot.
Actually, I think it's you that gave me them first. So I have you to thank for showing me this incredible album :p I'm working ona review/interpretation thing of the album right now. I plan on adding it to Sputnik too. So I'll let you guys know when I get it done. I'm on the song Lost Cause right now in the review. |

It's called Night Terrors. When you're half asleep, and you're starting to dream, but half awake and try to move but can't. Yeah, I've had those a lot, it's the scariest thing I've ever been through. |

I have, usually right when my alarm goes off. It's pretty bad, but it only lasts a quick second. |
I get them whenever I don't have a few beers before I call it a night. When I'm sober, I concentrate a lot more to get myself to sleep, and find myself half awake when I try to sleep, then start dreaming half awake, and my body freezes. I usually then see frightening images until I snap out of it 10 minutes later. It's scary.

Same here. Ever have to scream for whatever reason, and your voice is gone or no sound comes out? Frightens me right outta the dream. |

Yes! I'll get up sometimes in the middle of the night and see something moving closer to my bed, and I'm totally freaked out but I can't move at all. It's like the dreaming state and the conscious state are mixed together or something. |
Are you guys talking about when you, for instance, are fighting somebody and it feels like you have a tenth of your stength as if you are fighting in water or something, kind of the same thing with running too, you are running away and its as if you are in water but still end up ahead of the guy chasing you, thats kind of scary
|
I once saw the galaxy when I woke up. It was wicked.
|
i actually enjoy the thrill of sleep paralys and lucid dreaming because the dont come around wheneer you like. sometimes i feel like i'm falling like , and my heart starts beating real quickly and i get this ticklish feeling which makes me giggle.

Until you started to wonder who stole your tent No Isis or QOTSA quest apperances on the album then. Least that rumour got quashed quicker than the others |

It's called sleep paralysis, and its when you become concious while your body is still alseep. Your brain and body are disconnected. I used to get them really bad all the time, until I figured out if I just concentrate and force my hand or foot to move i could come out of it, after a while I just stopped getting it. In fact, it helped alot knowing what it was and that it wasn't an alien abduction cuz I used to get that sense of a presence in the room pretty bad, which is a major symptom. |
****, you guys are scaring me, I'm definitely going to be experiencing "night terrors" or "sleep paralysis" or whatever you want to call it tonight :(

i'm listening to sleepy music

I finally got Lateralus back from not listening to it for months upon months and it sounds sooo good.
|
