Fugazi - End Hits
I finally understand this album, after having it for about a year. I put it on and realized how incredible the songs are. . . except for Floating Boy. That still sucks.

Daft Punk- Discovery
I really need to get Homework, because I just saw the video to Around The World on Youtube, and it blew my mind.

Never in person, but I've seen pictures.
I've been doing that all week. It's amazing. Curt is pretty much my favorite guitar player ever, and they're becoming one of my favorite bands. The first three albums are gold.
Too bad they became shit after those. Let me direct your attention here-http://www.wohlers.org/puppets/

I haven't downloaed all of them yet cause it takes a while to maunaly click all of them.

That site is sweet. The '86 recording at The Roxy is insane, as are all the early ones. Some of the solo Curt shows from there are pretty solid also.

Anxious 08-07-2006 06:03 PM

The Meat Puppets mailing list is pretty gay though.

sr800bkBassist 08-07-2006 06:07 PM

i like their later stuff. mainly just the "Too High to Die" CD. it's such a good CD.

of course their old stuff is awesome though.

Daniel! 08-07-2006 06:10 PM

I'm listening to Too High To Die, right now, and I wouldn't say they became s'hit after the first three, they just became a lot different. And less interesting. And less fun. But it's not that bad.

yeah it's like later Dinosaur Jr., but with less feeling i guess.

Daniel! 08-07-2006 06:24 PM

Well it's much better than Without a Sound, which is the only later Dinosaur Jr album I have. That is a bad album. I'm enjoying listening to Too High To Die. It's better than I remember.

What's your soulseek name? It's not in the stickied thread.

Dog 08-07-2006 11:34 PM

Zappa(i think) mentioned Spit For Athena earlier in the thread and they sounded interesting so i downloaded Piss Is Perfect. Just got finished listening. It has it's moments. Sort of sounds like if The Embarrassment had balls.

Today i listened to a shitload of Jonathan Richman solo albums. This trend will continue into tomorrow.

This is great, thanks.

Zappa 08-08-2006 12:12 AM

I am pretty sure you downloaded it from me, no less. It's not an amazing album, but I do enjoy the quirkier songwriting moments of happy.

YDload 08-08-2006 12:59 AM

I'm not a big fan of singer/songwriter folk guys, but "White Daisy Passing" by Rocky Votolato is a seriously great song in that style. I guess those male/female harmonies are good in general.

Have you heard, Hey There, Little Insect? Cause its one of the best songs of all time.

mr_jackalope 08-08-2006 08:36 AM

I've listened to Le Volume Courbe's I Killed My Best Friend 4 times since I got it the other day, and I can't stop. What a freaking album.

Jaundice 08-08-2006 08:50 AM

I just finished listening to:
Muse - Absolution
Weezer - The Blue Album
Marcys Playground - Marcys Playground
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral.

Not all are Alternative/Indie, but they're all amazing, with the exception of MP. And all three of those are albums I've been playing on a very regular basic these days.

asdf 08-08-2006 11:37 AM

Phish - A picture of nectar

I swear I took an at least 2 year hiatus from phish, other than the occasional song. Back in 7th-8th grade I just over-listened to it.

But after waiting so long, and bringing it back, it's still good. After this I'll probably Listen to Billy Breathes.

Anxious 08-08-2006 12:26 PM

Ruins.

They're like a waaay more complicated NomeansNo, mixed with Lightning Bolt.

My brother loves this band.

I'm now listening to Henry Threadgill Sextett - Rag, Bush and All. My dad dug up this vinyl for my brother to listen to, but since he never uses vinyl, I decided to put it on. I'm enjoying it, although I'm not really paying all that much attention, because I'm cleaning my house.
