its total elite venom worship with cheesy vocals
uhh...

illmitch 09-23-2009 12:49 AM

dunno what you're uhhhh-ing. there's NWOBHM influence all over show no mercy. tom araya also does the cheesy high-pitched vocals.

Nostalgia 09-23-2009 12:52 AM

no there's not really any apparent venom influence, you're just getting confused because venom is practically thrash (ok, black metal, speed metal, traditional metal - we've had this debate before) and tom's high screams are pretty much his signature.

illmitch 09-23-2009 12:53 AM

there's not any apparent venom influence? slayer pretty much worshipped venom and NWOBHM, especially on that album. "witching hour" was one of the first songs they learned how to play.
nah thats elim
You're joking right?

Nostalgia 09-23-2009 12:55 AM
there's not any apparent venom influence?
well no **** there's going to be some considering venom were demoing in the late seventies, but i dont think it sounds anything like venom. they're two completely different bands.

Bazarov 09-23-2009 12:59 AM

Venom pretty much sucks too. Especially when compared to the when Slayer was the greatest metal band of all time.

All you need by Venom is Don't Burn the Witch and Buried Alive, the rest is pretty meh.

illmitch 09-23-2009 12:59 AM
Venom pretty much sucks too
get the hell outta here

Bazarov 09-23-2009 01:00 AM

Nah, I'm good. Venom are a highly overrated band. And Slayer > Venom

Nostalgia 09-23-2009 01:01 AM

Black metal is a good album and I like the first minute of At War with Satan, but Welcome to Hell bored me.

illmitch 09-23-2009 01:03 AM

welcome to hell is a constant array of filthy raw satanic madness

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njBgG9ZOoQI

don't see how anybody could fail to love that

Bazarov 09-23-2009 01:04 AM

I forget to mention the song In League with Satan. Damn that song is awesome, but yeah, there's so much more better nwobhm bands than Venom. At one point I thought they were godly, but nah, they bore me nowadays.

Slayer on the other hand, still my fav band after all these years.

graverobber 09-23-2009 02:24 AM
well no **** there's going to be some considering venom were demoing in the late seventies, but i dont think it sounds anything like venom. they're two completely different bands.
actually, they weren't 'demoing' in the late 70s. and they had 3 albums to their name by the time slayer had 1, so clearly demos have nothing to do with anything. yes there is an obvious venom influence (you'd have to be a total musical retard like austin to not pick that up) but no you would not call it worship.
Black metal is a good album and I like the first minute of At War with Satan, but Welcome to Hell bored me.
you're an idiot

Bazarov 09-23-2009 02:43 AM

Dude, don't worry about his insults man. Anyone who thinks that RIB doesn't have much going on for it, clearly doesn't have an opinion on metal worth listening to.

Bazarov 09-23-2009 02:46 AM

If you need a shoulder to cry on Austin, I'm right here.

Who is this guy anyway, that Gates of Heaven fag?

graverobber 09-23-2009 02:58 AM

i think Austin doesn't really like it when I come here, because he gets called out and demoted to omega male status once again

Nostalgia 09-23-2009 03:27 AM

i happen to love my down under teddy bear.

graverobber 09-23-2009 03:31 AM

'omg ur so rude i just wanted to catch up im gonna delete u from my msn and stuff!!!'

Nostalgia 09-23-2009 03:33 AM

graverobber 09-23-2009 03:35 AM

Nostalgia 09-23-2009 03:37 AM

graverobber 09-23-2009 03:42 AM

what are the tapes? still have my address?

Stevie 09-23-2009 04:51 AM

destruction - life without sense has given me a brain hemorrhage

Bazarov 09-23-2009 12:14 PM

Curse the Gods has to be one of the best songs on that album.

illmitch 09-23-2009 01:06 PM

damn why have i not redownloaded destruction

jrowa001 09-23-2009 03:06 PM

Destruction are one of my favorite thrash bands. Antichrist, Inventors of Evil, Thrash Anthems, and D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. are great. i need to get their earlier albums though

Nepenthe 09-23-2009 03:08 PM

nailed to the ****ing cross

illmitch 09-23-2009 03:10 PM

whenever listening to a metal band i always start from the beginning as a rule

i just dont trust new albums from old bands

jrowa001 09-23-2009 03:20 PM

i tend to go with whatever album i hear about is their best. for Destruction i was told it was Inventor of Evil. it's an amazing album, but right now Antichrist is my fav of theirs that ive heard. im def going to finally get their earlier albums. if theyre still making great thrash albums then im sure im going to like their early albums just as much

and nailed to the cross ****ing rips. just finished listening to it haha.

Nepenthe 09-23-2009 03:36 PM

haha yeah i had to listen to it after i posted that too. its more badass when they play it live, they change the drum beat during the chorus and it just makes it rip even harder.
