Ryan Adams - Cold Roses

still love this, there's so much fucking quality. 17 tracks spanning an hour, and I don't think a single one is any worse than 'good'.
Welcome to the club. That's a damn good album.

Bryan Ferry - As Time Goes By

This is good stuff from my parents' record collection. Jazzy covers of old pop songs.

i say gay-lin but there are two a's so i think it might be gah-lin

8-Bit Operators-An 8-Bit Tribute to Kraftwerk

Zebra 02-14-2007 05:13 PM

Boards of Canada - Geogaddi

Good stuff. I like the song where the kid is getting drilled while counting numbers.

Boilermaker 02-14-2007 05:16 PM

Boris - Pink
Yoko Ono - Yes, I'm the Witch

Eliminator 02-14-2007 05:29 PM

Stylus' review of Pink doesn't make any sense to me.

asymm 02-14-2007 05:45 PM

The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
Peter Bjorn & John - Writer's Block
Excellent - better than I expected it to be. I wasn't even particularly allured by "Young Folks", so the rest is great as well.

ATM 02-14-2007 05:47 PM

Got some things from the library:

Buddy Guy - The Complete Vangaurd Recordings
Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Masters - Instrumental Collection
Pixies - Doolittle
John Fahey - The Dance of Death and Other Plantation Favorites
Meat Puppets - Too High to Die

ATM 02-14-2007 05:52 PM
holy ****

My gf bought me a stack of CDs for V-Day. Actually it was 5, but a stack's a stack.

New York Dolls - One Day It'll Please Us To Remember Even This
Paul Westerberg - 14 Songs
Paul Westerberg - Open Season
Hanoi Rocks - Self-Destruction Blues
Beatles - Love

So it's safe to say I've been getting my vintage rock on.

I've also been listening to the upcoming album by New Atlantic, which is quite cool and power-poppy.
What's wrong with the Hawaiian CD?

ATM 02-14-2007 06:17 PM

It's not a bands name its just a compilation of different Hawaiian artists.

Bukowski 02-14-2007 06:37 PM

The Chameleons UK - Tony Fletcher Walked On Water EP

Oh man, I must hear more of this band. This is like, really dreamy post-punk. Really good stuff.

I've also been mad into that Oxes album that was uploaded in the mailing list. I can hear the similarities to Don Caballero.

perriwinkle 02-14-2007 06:44 PM

glad to hear you liked it man

did anyone check out cinemechanica

madjack eyes are open wide open wide!

or something. Strange Times is a great album.

Robert Crumb 02-14-2007 06:52 PM

Snowgoons - German Lugers
Wisemen - Wisemen Approaching

And still Bill Callahan's latest. There are about three pretty ****ing nice songs on it ("Diamond Dancer," "Sycamore," "A Man Needs a Woman Or...") but the rest is kinda eh. I guess I kinda feel that way about a good deal of the Smog albums I've heard.

Eliminator 02-14-2007 07:30 PM

Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West

Such a good album.

el doctor 02-14-2007 07:37 PM

The Beatles - Let It Be... Naked

I hadn't listened to this since around when it came out. Track by track, it's stronger than the original, especially with its versions of "Across the Universe" and "Let It Be".

Pulp - Different Class

I'm not gonna lie - I only had the singles until I found this for a few dollars last week. There's a song here and there that falls flat, but otherwise, everything is just classic.

Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?

It's definitely a more demanding listening experience than I would expect from Of Montreal, but I really like it so far. Plus, the packaging is damn cool.

Deerhoof - Friend Oppertunity

It's grown on me. I really like it now.
There's a song here and there that falls flat, but otherwise, everything is just classic.
wait what song?

my little lady friend got me that hot chip - the warning so i'm listening to that. its pretty good.
i also made her get a deerhoof pin but she won't wear it. so i dumped her for not being indie rock enuf.
