check that out, if you're intrested in that stuff. its the church committee's info on foreign assassination activities.

the cia was out of control, but after the committee, congress went overboard with the restrictions. thats why the cia has had so much trouble with al qaeda, iraq before the invasion, iran currently, ect. its ability to gather human intelligence was destroyed. bush has worked to undo a lot of it, but it will take a long time.

cbmartinez 10-12-2006 04:14 PM

So you think the misinformation in Iraq was due to intelligence restrictions?

srt-4 10-12-2006 04:17 PM

oh, and i definitely haven't read all of those findings, so if you read through it, you'll know a bunch of stuff i don't.

srt-4 10-12-2006 04:25 PM
So you think the misinformation in Iraq was due to intelligence restrictions?
ya, the cia had no idea. almost all of that intelligence was very old or from the intelligence services of other nations. hussein knew how to hide his stuff from the air, and after the church committee gutted the cia's abilities, everybody knew we had no human intelligence capabilities. almost everybody was looking at spy satellites and ****. nobody was really going out and getting people to give up info. so the cia was almost completely in the dark about what was really going on inside iraq.

also, i don't remember exactly the quote in one of his books i read, but kissinger talking about his experiences, and long before the second iraq war, said something like the president leads intelligence. even if its not overtly, if its an unclear issue, the intelligence is naturally going to learn towards what the president wants to here due to the internal dynamics of the cia and nsc.

since the cia didn't really know what was going on, they pretty much just told the president what he wanted to here and said it was their best guess.

Wait, did all of our political talk get deleted?

whiteminority 10-12-2006 10:26 PM

No, it's all here man.

SubtleDagger 10-12-2006 10:27 PM

What do you mean

It's all on the last page
Wait, did all of our political talk get deleted?
I deleted it. I'm "the man" and want you all to be political and social sheep with no thoughts. O_O

Srsly, though, I encourage political talk in here just don't be douche bags about it and start flaming/spamming a ton. It's basically always been that way in here. Talk about whatsoever your heart desires as long as it's not spam. I say you can; racism, drugs, sex, whatevz. We're all adults that post here and if kids under 13 are registered and reading it and a lawsuit comes about, Jeremy's protected because he says you gotta be at least 13 to post and parents should control what their children see on the internet, not site admins. It's not their problem.

If an admin comes in here, though, and says you're in trouble for racism, drug talk, etc., say I said it was cool. I'll get in trouble but whatevz. Wintermute and I get along (really close on the boards) and so do mx and I. It shouldn't be a problem but if it happens...oh well.

Why does everyone like Cap'n Jazz? I think the vocals in that band are so queer.

SubtleDagger 10-13-2006 11:25 AM

Kinsella vocals rule

Cap'n Jazz is closer to indie than post-hardcore/emo though, it's sort of where midwest reared its head

RetiredAt21 10-13-2006 12:10 PM

Yeah, I always wondered why people call them emo/post-hardcore. They sound REALLY indie to me.

bottlerocket 10-13-2006 12:33 PM

I love midwest emo, so I love Cap'n Jazz and everything in that genre.

I love his voice and his lyrics.

IIIIIIII
I AM A PUPPYYYYYYY

It's the limit of emo as it approaches indie.

/just envoked calculus to describe music...omfg

So I may change my major from chemistry to physics.

Find the inverse of Justins opinion and multiply by 299,792,458.

/more fun with math

pixiesfanyo 10-13-2006 01:16 PM

Cap'n Jazz is one of the few bands that acutally blends emo with like indie pop.

cobert 10-13-2006 02:29 PM
