Nostalgia 04-23-2009 05:11 PM

they should give it up and go out with some dignity

south_of_heaven 11 04-23-2009 05:12 PM

ya agreed. I was all for the new album cause I really dug Psychopathy Red but after reading those working titles...****, throw in the towel guys...

pate 04-23-2009 05:13 PM

I'll give someone a cookie if they can answer this question:

What does Araya yell before the solo in Expendible Youth?

I will return after these messages with the answer.

I listened to Endless Pain yesterday for the first time in like 2 years.

I rarely listen to thrash these days.

Si1v3RfaNg 05-02-2009 01:52 PM

Yeah its been awhile since I blasted thrash in my car *grabs keys*

Agreed. Have been looking forward to their new album for a bit now, and the new song only makes me more anxious for it.

south_of_heaven 11 07-02-2009 08:40 AM

Anyone else listened to Artillery's latest album, "When Death Comes"? It's actually really ****ing good.

Still can't wait for the new Sacrifice album...the title track is sweet.

Titans Of Thrash

I watched this pretty recently, and was really impressed. It's almost a full two hours long, and just focuses on thrash metal. Has anyone else seen this?

Morumbar 08-28-2009 05:23 PM

Looks cool. I'd like to see that one sometime.

FatalEnergy 08-28-2009 08:03 PM

It sucks. Big time.
It sucks. Big time.
lol figures. I remember this being talked about like 2 years ago, and what do we get, a piece of ****.

FatalEnergy 08-28-2009 08:46 PM

Yeah, there's more metalcore bands and nu-metal bands talking about Metallica than anything. Some stupid Anthrax ****. Sepultura for about 30 seconds. The whole German scene in literally 2 minutes.

It lightly covers the NY and Bay Area scenes, but they do it with such lack of content it's amazing. It's just a bunch of guys going "yeah, we all partied a lot. It was cool"

Bazarov 08-28-2009 08:49 PM

Yeah, sounds like I don't need to watch this.

Meatplow 08-28-2009 11:47 PM

i moved the posts from the other thread here

are there any good thrash metal documentaries?

oracrest 08-28-2009 11:47 PM

I agree that it was too much modern bands talking about how much they liked the stuff that came before, but on the other hand, I learned about a lot of bands I didn't know about. I am still relatively naive to thrash as a whole though.

Would "The exploited - Beat the Bastards" count?

There's one called Born in the Basement. At least I believe that's what it's called. I haven't seen it, but I've heard it wasn't bad, but it focuses pretty much on American thrash especially the NY stuff. So, I don't really know.

FatalEnergy 08-29-2009 12:14 AM

Oh man, they're playing metal vids on public access right now.

Some band called Swashbuckle. Thrash, some good riffs, more modern sounding, but it's pretty damn funny too. They're all dressed as pirates.

illmitch 08-29-2009 12:14 AM

This thread could use a lot of Holy Terror.

I see. Almost every attempt at a metal documentary I have seen ends up under fire by irate fans for some reason.

yeah, it's alright. nothing like their old stuff though.

Bazarov 08-29-2009 03:26 AM

Jesus christ, they're still around? I haven't listened to their stuff in such a long time. Nor have I heard them mentioned in a while, kind of figured they just lost the momentum the seemed to be picking up for a while.
