Huber 08-27-2005 12:30 PM

Yeah, there are some awesome concerts this fall. Cryptopsy, Nile, Meshuggah, Children of Bodom. It'll give me some fun for first semester.

Darkness 08-27-2005 12:31 PM

Nile is awesome... actually all the bands you guys mentioned are awesome... you guys are really lucky. Cryptopsy is coming here but I can't make it, and the only other good band thats coming is Audioslave, which I am going to.

Syncratic 08-27-2005 12:32 PM

My birthday is the 5th (Labor Day this year, I'm off of school :awesome:).

I'm not worried about school, I'm actually really intelligent.
Knowing when an album comes out and anticipating up until that day and getting it right away and taking it in for the first time is a great experience. Knowing when it's out is a pretty big deal.
TRUE THAT!!!! i remember getting lateralus from a store the first day it came out, i had been listening to aenima from tool for about 2 years, i was getting so excited about them releasing new material, as soon as school ended i ran my fatass up to circuit city with my walkman, i bought it, immediatly threw into cd player!

that is my most memorable moment of tool (it was also the most fun i ever had WALKING back ;) )

/starts to cry because this moment will come again VERY soon :)

Darkness 08-27-2005 12:33 PM

I can't wait for that...

What were your first impressions of Lateralus when you first listened on the way back?

Static 08-27-2005 12:36 PM

Nine Inch Nails November 8th...I go back on Tuesday :D

Turbonegro 08-27-2005 12:36 PM

Lateralus is my favorite album by tool its one of my favorite albums anyway. The only thing i dont like about tool is songs like ions off of aniema. Im not into all different wierd sounds they boar me

Huber 08-27-2005 12:36 PM

I like Ions. Listening to it before Third Eye kinda makes it better for me.
Nine Inch Nails November 8th...I go back on Tuesday :D

I hadn't looked at the dates for NIN yet, and they're comin' up close! I gotta make my decision on those quick.

Turbonegro 08-27-2005 12:40 PM

This is off of the topic but what is isis like, i know there death metal but can you give me more of a decripition on them... like bands like them?

Futuro 08-27-2005 12:42 PM
What were your first impressions of Lateralus when you first listened on the way back?
:) happiest kid in the world :) it was a different feeling back then when i had it because i was young, didnt really know what music was about.

I actually wish i could go back and just be a listener to music, instead of dissecting everything. I felt there music as a movement instead of "oh lets see what he means by fuck L. ron hubbard." i guess if it keeps you busy then sure its fine, but i would rather be able to listen to it, then drawing fine lines about it. my mentality has changed from a listeners point of view. back then i wanted to know how to do all dannys drum grooves, adams guitar parts, justins bass lines ETC. now i wish i didnt know how to play them.... i dunno, maybe its just me

Not Death Metal.

Post-metal/Sludge metal that kinda stuff. Nice, slow moving, chugging guitar riffs and stuff like that. Great band.

deadohiosky9 08-27-2005 02:07 PM

my friend just told me that he went in traget and the new tool album was there, untitled, and he also says he has it on vinyl. which is highly ridiculous. he also refuses to send it to me, and says the bill hicks speech in the beginning is awesome. i call bulls.hit on this. anyone else have an untitled tool CD at target? lmao.

Darkness 08-27-2005 02:08 PM

lmao.. thats the funniest thing I've heard T00L related in a while.

Kage 08-27-2005 02:18 PM

OMFG!!!!

/runs to Target

Dude3 08-27-2005 02:29 PM

That would be cool though. If Tool just released their album unnoticingly.

chongi 08-27-2005 02:30 PM

i work at target, yeah we've had it for a month now ;)

deadohiosky9 08-27-2005 02:49 PM
That's Bullshit man!
yes it is. anyways, i just messaged adam on myspace telling him about the joke.

clearvision 08-27-2005 02:50 PM

DeadOhioSky...nothing you say will ever be taking seriously again.

You messed up the prank too, getting people to email you was stupid. IM, fine. Email, stupid.

Dude3 08-27-2005 02:53 PM

I think we should get Adam Jones to join the forums. "That's the ticket!".

Yay me. I just got an In Flames, Common Rider, and Suicide Machines album from Amazon. Oh the joy of taking the wrappers off cd cases.

deadohiosky9 08-27-2005 02:54 PM

haha i actually have no clue why i asked people to email me. wait...oh yes. it was because we hadn't a clue on what to say, and thirteenthstep hadn't come up with that morse code stuff yet, so we needed to buy time.

I just watched an awesome video of Third Eye live. With the lighting, video, and intense performance, it was amazing to watch. I'll be impressed if Tool come up with a song half that good for the new album.

Darkness 08-27-2005 03:00 PM

Yeah, that was a pretty stupid thing to do out of bordom. Couldn't you read a book or something?

BlindWriting 08-27-2005 03:03 PM

I don't know, I kind of get the feeling that, while the new album may or may not be their best ever, it just might contain a few of their best. I'm hopeful.

Darkness 08-27-2005 03:05 PM

I think the song Lataralus beats the crap out of Third Eye... I just find it better. Third Eye has its moments of brilliance... but Lateralus is 9:24 min of brilliance.
