Good to know. The lineup is pretty unknown to me, but after hearing some Myspace songs I'm pretty excited for it.

That's another band playing. Not too bad, really.
Later Panzer is way better.

*waits for poopstorm*
dude! i liked later panzer until i heard their first album.

south_of_heaven 11 12-27-2008 09:03 PM

I thought Kreator's latest was pretty good, a 3.5 for me...simply because I expected it not to be a full-on thrash assault.

FatalEnergy 12-27-2008 11:32 PM

Yeah, and it wasn't. It's a big melodic butt****.

They suck. **** them.

Stevie V 12-31-2008 10:41 AM

i saw destruction live last week - good gig - id recommend seeing them if you get the chance, they played a lot of old stuff . anyone else see destruction?

Nostalgia 12-31-2008 03:55 PM

They're coming here soon, will definitely see.

Anyone heard of Early Man? Thrashy heavy metal out of New York that is quite good.

jrowa001 12-31-2008 04:00 PM

id love to see Destruction live. theyre one of my fav thrash bands. also the new Kreator album is pretty good

im gunna see them next month i think
and then there's also overkill with exodus supporting

jrowa001 12-31-2008 04:06 PM

dude thats sick, id like to see Exodus as well even though im not a huge Overkill fan (a few songs here and there)

Stevie V 12-31-2008 04:09 PM

well exodus im not sure about because i dont rate the bonded by blood re recording stuff they've done nor that new vocalist...i've seen them a couple of times now anyway so i might not get too involved - but of course i knwo that when i hear them playing bonded by blood material im going to be in the pit as if im seeing slayer

Nostalgia 12-31-2008 04:10 PM

Exodus played here with Bonded by Blood in full, but **** off Rob Douche on vocals.

Never heard but now they're being marketed as a retro-stoner thing. 2 years ago they were marketed as a thrash band. lul trendhopping

Nostalgia 12-31-2008 04:19 PM

wtf really? thats strange. i dont have their first full-length, which i believe was in their thrash/heavy metal era.

i think you'd like it dude. its not bad.

I saw them back in '05. Great show.

utstarcom 01-03-2009 12:14 PM

God Hates Us All was poor for slayer standards but was still better than alot other stuff released at the time actually i think Diabolus In Musica was worse
Anyone heard of Early Man? Thrashy heavy metal out of New York that is quite good.
Yeah. They opened for Iced Earth here back in November. I enjoyed them quite a bit.

Nostalgia 01-03-2009 01:11 PM

Was it instrumental? I hear a lot of their shows are.

ArcLite 01-03-2009 06:26 PM

The Early Man show? No, it was normal with vocals.

when i first started playing guitar in a band we covered the song Bloodline from GHUA along with many a metallica song so many ****ing times. we thought the intro riff to bloodline was the heaviest thing. that album had some okay songs i guess.

RetiredAt21 01-04-2009 02:04 PM

I was rocking out to Kill'em All earlier. Album is awesome.

ThrashMaster27 01-07-2009 08:24 PM

What the fuck? I've been reading reviews and people actually don't like Sean Killian's vocals. what blasphemy! his drunk vocals are the best in Thrash.

NP: Pantera - Power Metal

Best Pantera song by a mile. Great album as well, suprisingly.

south_of_heaven 11 01-07-2009 09:38 PM

sean killian is good yes but why are you bringing up pantera in the thrash thread

bad form

ThrashMaster27 01-07-2009 10:06 PM

Pffft, most of that album is Speed Metal anyway. Speed Metal gets brought up here quite a lot, so why not?

It's not like I brought up Ratt or anything.

FatalEnergy 01-08-2009 02:28 AM

Power Metal is their only album worth hearing.

jrowa001 01-08-2009 09:32 AM

Pantera only have a few songs i care to listen to. so who here likes the D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. by Destruction? they just never stop making solid thrash album. fun driving album

south_of_heaven 11 01-08-2009 12:00 PM

Power Metal was alright and its just when I hear someone say Pantera my mind diverts to Cowboys from Hell and Vulgar Display of Power (which I won't deny enjoying) and I just go "not thrash".

and I didn't find DEVOLUTION to be all that good, besides the title track/intro track.

jrowa001 01-08-2009 12:08 PM

i thought it wasnt as good as Antichrist and Inventor of Evil, but it was still a nice dose of high octane thrash

FatalEnergy 01-08-2009 03:09 PM

They've gotten too comfortable with their new style, so the last two and a half albums have been a ridiculous amount of filler
