I really listen the band for the guitars, it's not that the vocals are bad but not really my taste. Still a great band though.
|
Meh, I saw them live with In Flames. I have to say while In Flames was amazing, Trivium pretty much sucked. The singing was terrible, the guitars sounded bad, I could barely hear the bass. The drumming wasn't bad though. They just need to pull it together when they are playing live and everything will be okay.
Well i dont know what live video youve seen buddie. whenever ive seen them they have been realy good. We'll just have to wait till download :chug:
Go watch any video from www.youtube.com. |
Not only are most of the things people are saying about Trivium's live show pretty much false, but they are all little oversights anyways. There are sloppier bands and worse vocalists that people on here would have sex with because of there "awesome live show".
86/87 pages on this thread is one big fat argument over Trivium's live show. Most people in here have seen Trivium in person, including me, and we know that they are spot on. You can't argue with that. Get over it. |

Check out the LLTTF live video on here: http://uvtv.info/trivium.php
I found it very good, Heafy's vocals seem to have improved, hes actually singing most of the song now, instead of making the crowd sing all the clean parts. |
Yeah i was so happy he did that when i saw them. The only part he didin't do was the 'PULL, HARDER, STRINGS, MARTYR,..." and Corey did most of that.

That's good to hear... maybe he finally stopped sucking.

I hope to god so. I'm gonna go learn a Trivium song |
It seems to me that the people who really like Trivium believe that their live show is amazing and flawless, while people who dislike, or just don't really care about them, think that they are really bad.
Just my observation. |

Ok to settle this whole live argument. The truth is, if your a Trivium fan, you'll find there live show amazing full stop. If your not a Trivium fan, but you do not dislike them because they appear in Kerrang! every week then you'll find their live show energetic and generally very good even though you don't know the songs. If your one of those people who hate Trivium because they appear in Kerrang! every week, then your determined to hate their liveshow...even iif you secretly enjoyed it...which you would!

Just my observation.
I think that may be because they are very confident on stage, which some may see as arrogance. Also the majority fans usually enjoy the whole live experience (singing along, headbanging, moshing etc), where as others will probably just be paying attention to the music, and picking up on any flaws. |
I like Trivium, but I still think they are pretty bad live. I mean if you're gonna be arrogant, then atleast have something to back it up with. With Heafy going "WE ARE FUCKING REAL THRASH METAL" it gets really annoying. Corey makes mistakes, then just does a squeal to make it seem like he didn't. Also, they should atleast keep time they rush so bad a lot.

You will enjoy the concert much more if you get into it, and you won't notice every little mistake. Why don't you all try to get up on stage in front of thousands of ppl and not make a few mistakes. A few mistakes is normal for any band that hasn't been around that long. |

For all of you sippin on the hatorade :) you must admit they are fairly sound instrumentally. I do hate it when he cuts out verses because he is away from the mic. Also where is all the talk of arrogance comming from I want examples before I shall be swayed! |
Theres plenty of example of Matt's arrogance out there :p
But i dont mind that: the kids got confidence and good on him :) |
I hope to god so.
 don't we all? |
*bump*
Does anyone know if any of the Trivium singles were released in Australia or do we suck? |
 don't we all?
We do I'm not sure if they put out any singles in australia...you might check their website. or the billboard We suck...they never play them in S.A but we are a smaller market. I know they play them in austin and houston |
Examples of Heafy's arrogance:
Comments on Triviums new release "The Crusade" "...and then 11 ridiculously technical thrash songs," On why he thinks Dimebag's widow wanted to hang out with Trivium, "When she first saw us play, she hadn't heard a live tone like that or seen a crowd reaction like that since the Vulgar Display of Power Days" At any concert in which Heafy is present and playing, "We are fucking true thrash metal!" |

There is no way their live tone was as bada$$ as Pantera's, and no way their crowds or fans are nearly as large in #. Also, if some people think they suck live, that must mean they aren't as good as Pantera live. And yes, that is perfectly normal for a famous 20 year old to be over confident. |
There's a difference between overconfidence, and plain arrogance.

I know I sure as hell don't. And for the record Triviums live tone is crushing! Now I never saw Pantera live (in person) but I can tell you Trivium kicks *** live. And the fans that were un-able to mosh at trivium were frickin brutal |
I'm actually getting into this band a lot, they are good but not as good as everyone makes them out to be.

Hmm, but its hard to judge what Heafy meant by that comment, perhaps Dime's wife had personally said to them something to that effect, rather than Heafy just assuming it. |

You're correct, Drunken Viking wrote it out wrong. In the April 2006 Guitar World magazine, on page 66, it says: "She said that when she first saw us play, she hadn't heard a live tone like that or seen a crown reaction like that since the Vulgar Display of Power days." On another note, has anyone seen that Jan 2006 Young Guitar DVD with Trivium on it?? |
Trivium is pretty good, but I like Matt Heafy in Capharnaum more.

Was writing a long reply to Britton's post, but my computer restarted, so I decided fuk it after hearing that Dimebag's wife said that to Heafy.
I don't want to affend any Dimebag fans in here by going against what his wife thinks, and sure as hell don't want to affend Dimebag(in the sense that he is watching over us). |
