Society Sellout 09-20-2005 08:03 PM

Alright I just got it and am listening to it.

BTW has anyone watched the new vid of The Suffering....? I'd have to say it sucks...

DJ Ducksauce 09-20-2005 08:15 PM

They have a music vid for the suffering already? I think that they may be trying to publicize this album a little too much.

Pazz 09-20-2005 08:17 PM

I listened to it by a leak and it is an amazing album. I plan on buying all 3 of their albums, but at the moment, I am broke.

hey, you're not cory! 09-20-2005 08:18 PM

Speaking of "The Suffering"...wy is there an asterisk by it on the back of the cd case?

DJ Ducksauce 09-20-2005 08:22 PM

Sometimes asterisks mean it was produced by someone else. I don't really know the reason because I don't have the actual CD yet.

Are there any bonus tracks that weren't on the leak?

hey, you're not cory! 09-20-2005 08:30 PM

Yep, good call. That was it.

CombatWombat3 09-20-2005 08:34 PM

From Fear through the eyes of madness and Wake up are my favorites so far.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-20-2005 08:34 PM

I had no clue they had a video for it. I will have to check it out.

IsItLuck? 09-20-2005 08:35 PM

all I have to say for the 5th time, The last 4 songs are brilliant. Tomorrow I get to see them at Vintage Vinyl for the 7th time in my coheed career.
2002- Glassjaw, coheed and cambria, blood brothers (they opened!)
2003- Coheed, onelinedrawing: Coheed at warped tour
2004-warped tour, 92 cent show (DVD is from that show)
2005- central park (free show), vintage vinyl, and I'm going to see them with the blood brothers in NY

DJ Ducksauce 09-20-2005 08:39 PM

I want to go to the Austin show on Oct. 24. Must ask parents!

DepthsOfDreams555 09-20-2005 08:42 PM

I'm going to the show third stop on their tour.....October 1st in Chicago I'm so pumped it is so close.

hey, you're not cory! 09-20-2005 08:42 PM

After one listen: its hard to pick a favorite, but I love it. It flows amazingly and EVERY bit of this band has taken a huge step up on this cd. Its not only better talent and lyric wise, but it also shows off their creativity much more. I went inot it expecting to be disappointed, but I wasn't AT ALL. I was in fact, greatly surprised.

"The Suffering" video link. Its very weird to say the least.

DJ Ducksauce 09-20-2005 08:50 PM

I think the only thing I kind of didn't like was the way they recorded Claudio's voice. I got over after awhile.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-20-2005 08:53 PM

I think Claudio alwasy looks kind of uncomfortable on videos I don't know I don't think he is a very photogenic kind of guy.

DJ Ducksauce 09-20-2005 09:02 PM
I think Claudio alwasy looks kind of uncomfortable on videos I don't know I don't think he is a very photogenic kind of guy.
On the live DVD, he says he's uncomfortable with videos and acting. That's in the making of the BRS vid.

Society Sellout 09-20-2005 09:19 PM

Yeah he does seem quite awkward. The movie was rather lame otherwise though.

As for the album, I can't really tell how much I like it yet. It's good, yes, but I don't know how it compares to the others.

The Hot Topic here told me that they didn't know anything about the Graphic Novel too which made me mad. I guess I'm just going to order it offline.

CSD & the Soul Machines 09-20-2005 10:33 PM

OMG I just copped the new album...I'm ****ing pumped. It's so good.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-21-2005 05:31 AM

Ya I have read that he says he is really shy and stuff. I will probably have to order the graphic novel offline too but I think some of my friends want it too so we will save on shipping and handling.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-21-2005 02:49 PM

No comments all day?

Spectrum 09-21-2005 02:50 PM

I've just recently got out of classes, and not posessing the new album, have nothing valuable to add to the thread.

Mute Print 09-21-2005 02:57 PM

I just finishing listening to it through for the first time, and I must say it is awesome. It isn't their best album I don't think, but it is still very good. I'll have to listen to it a few more times before I can decide on my favorite tracks and overall opinion of it.

Spectrum 09-21-2005 02:59 PM

I already have a favorite track from it: "Welcome Home". What an amazingly great song. And it's even the SINGLE! Dear God, I haven't heard a single that good in a long time.

JeffT 09-21-2005 03:22 PM

Funny, when I first listlened to Co&Ca I absolutely hated them. Now after I've listlened some more I've pretty gotten over the gut-wrenching shock of the singer's voice, I must must say the new album rocks out.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-21-2005 03:23 PM

Ya listen to some other stuff you will like it even more.

clearvision 09-21-2005 03:43 PM

I just listen to the willing well now, parts 2 and 3 are amazing.

clearvision 09-21-2005 04:15 PM

I have some Co+Ca songs live from the avalon. On IKSOSE:3 some lines of the song are screamed, example 'the truth be told the child was bron, man your own jack hammer'...

I wonder if they could get this to work on some other songs, specially on apollo 1 and wishing well 3 where the line goes something along the lines of 'and i don't wanna think of you, and i don't wanna think of you anymore'. I think that would sound great screamed with Claudio singing 'Goodbye tonight Goodnight I'm burining star 4' Opinions on The sreaming used live?

Gnarmageddon 09-21-2005 04:40 PM

I was the exact same way.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-21-2005 05:32 PM

Ya he screams on the Starland DVD too. I think it sounds really good I think they should have that on the actual CD. Get him to record some screaming. I think it sounds good. I'm so pumped to see Coheed live.

Gnarmageddon 09-21-2005 06:17 PM

I was this close to convincing my dad to let me get the DVD tonight.
