I like people to notice my threads, comment, maybe even download some songs and all that. But also part of me just enjoys writing it up and learning more about the bands myself, especially in the summer when I don't have much school work to focus on. I like writing about things I enjoy, in this case classic rock bands, and I think my threads benefit me and hopefully some other people in R&M.
I just finished writing my second album review on Sputnik, and I am also finding the same thing to be true. Yesterday, I did Chaosphere by Meshuggah, and I learned tons of random stuff about them. Today, I spent an hour reviewing Cog's The New Normal and I learned their names. :-D
and I learned their names
I have serious trouble remembering band members' names :upset:

Drugstep 07-23-2005 04:43 PM

I'm working on a series of threads entitled "Il Mio Filo". Doing informative threads is just fun. I always have fun doing them, and I do get to learn more about great metal. While doing my critcally acclaimed Nu Metal That Doesn't Suck, I found myself listening to music I hadn't heard in years and was surprised to find that the songs I liked back in 2002 and such still sound good to me. My first Il Mio Filo helped me to learn more about Sinergy, and I might try and listen to them even more now.

Everyone go read my post in the biography thread in the pit.

azbassman 07-23-2005 04:46 PM

/goes to the pit
It means something very basic, but I'll never tell. Maybe some one will find out someday...

/goes to the pit.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-23-2005 04:54 PM

That would be just "mijo," though.

Well, if it was en espanol, that is. :-/

Stoic 07-23-2005 04:55 PM

nice one. I guess it's fun when you're popular on the net :)

edit: to Superpeer

Solid reviews there. I'm going to start reviewing again as soon as I get back; I had fun writing my others.

I wonder how my name change affected my Sputnik account. I want to still review under the RCA surname.

Stoic 07-23-2005 04:57 PM

ahh this name change. People cant get used to it (neither can I), they still call me MetalFan :p

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-23-2005 04:58 PM

Yeah, Dancin' Man is still Fast Fingers on there, but I'm not kombucha mushroom mofo, for some reason.

GO-My thread.

Stoic 07-23-2005 05:00 PM
kombucha mushroom mofo
/Barely got his named changed.

Drugstep 07-23-2005 05:26 PM
GO-My thread.
IN pure Italian :thumb:

I told you it was basic.

I orignally considering making it 'Gagging thread' but I couldn't get it to come out right.
but I'm not kombucha mushroom mofo, for some reason.
That was you? I didn't know that.

I got a solid name change, and I am referred to by my new name because no one knew my old name.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-23-2005 05:32 PM

kombucha mushroom mofo was an awesome name what're you guys talking about!?!

Jelle, where'd your name come from?

RCA 07-23-2005 05:38 PM

People still call me RCA, but I'm okay with it.

I didn't know that was you until a couple weeks ago. I never would've thought that but when I found out, it made sense.

Kurtz 07-23-2005 05:41 PM

Where's Ray been recently? I haven't seen in in here or Sports.

Bartender 07-23-2005 05:49 PM
Out of curiosity, has anyone seen DM around lately? I was thinking about possibly working on an FA with him if he's been around :-\
He's still at his film camp thing. He should be back in a little under a week.

Morning all.

Drugstep 07-23-2005 05:50 PM

He hasn't posted in four days.

Kurtz 07-23-2005 05:51 PM
He hasn't posted in four days.
Dunno, maybe he got a life.

RCA 07-23-2005 05:52 PM

Morning Bartender.

All of the movie channels have sucked the past few nights. Lewis Black has an hour long special on HBO tonight, though I've already seen it.

/me will still watch it

That's not easy.

My user name has quite a story behind it, but I can't tell of it. Not that anyone cares.

Lord Abortion 07-23-2005 05:59 PM
Bartender I thought you lived in england it is nearly 1am?
Yeah, I am, and it is. So I suppose it's technically morning, but I probably would have said "good morning" whatever time of day it is. Not sure why, I just do.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-23-2005 06:03 PM

Why can't you tell it?

Tender, did you ever check out any more of HORSE The Band? I have yet to look, but I do plan to. :p

Drugstep 07-23-2005 06:03 PM

Lord Abortion - Pennywise Live was the first punk CD I ever owned. It was great.

EDIT: Oh, you mean the clown...Yeah, he kicks ass. *feels stupid for misunderstanding* :upset:

I always say good morning, but that's because I only post in the morning.
