link?

So I just downloaded the Nerve album with Jojo, I really like the drumming, but I think Rabb plays to this genre so much better.

what i've heard from rabb sounded really generic for the genre.

I think jojo takes it a step further and adds a lot more to his playing.

Really? I think Rabb's playing is entirely unique, there is no one else that uses dynamics like he does, Jojo is awesome but to me he just sounds like a jazz musician stepping into a new genre.
What's up, man?!

Your drums sound fantastic, by the way. They played their first show a couple months ago and it went fantastically. 1000+ people, too.
Jeez, you're moving up in the gigging world. I'm glad they sound that good. Get a 16" tom for them yet? Or are you still keeping it classic with 5-piece?

fishbulb 05-11-2008 10:42 AM

For right now I only have a 5 piece. I'd like to get a 16" tom but i can't justify spending $240 for a single drum.

And by the way, the "show" i played was my school's Talent show and we played for only 5 minutes, but it was awesome nonetheless.

What kinda kit you have again? $240 for a floor does not seem that bad...retail on the 16x16 I just got was 1200.08. But I don't have to pay retail.....

Little Android Man 05-11-2008 10:47 AM

he's got a pdp fxr or something.

fishbulb 05-11-2008 10:48 AM

PDP MX that i got used from drummguy.

Remember that i'm a teenager without a job so money is a not in abundance for me.

It also doesn't help that they're discontinued now. =( I'm glad that massmusic still sells them though.

Janeway 05-11-2008 11:34 AM

My mom left to go get food and hour and a half ago and she's still not back.

I hate being at my grandparents house. Everything is left over from the 50's and suited for people under five and a half feet tall.

drummguy731 05-11-2008 11:44 AM

Hahaha, that really sucks Janeway. And fishbulb, you are not the only person unemployed and broke.

Win A Rabbit 05-11-2008 12:25 PM

lawl my friend bought a brand new car today, and is taking a loan out from his grandma (loaded). so his grandma wrote him a cheque for $31,000. he brings it to the dealership, and the guy goes "umm the car is $31,006.15" and made my friend give him $6.15 in change.

Berk 05-11-2008 12:28 PM

this makes no sense. Its mothersday, my mom was showered with gifts but she still somehow is a major bitch. Even more bitchier than normal

I do have some money (maybe $550?) but i'd like to save most of it since i have no source of income right now.
Radiohead and Liars in 4 hours woooot
My friend bought tickets to a Radiohead concert but i don't know what date it is. Probably the same tour, though.

_Wrathchild_ 05-11-2008 02:06 PM

I am employed but still broke :(. Since it was just my birthday I got some money, but I spent it on booze and much needed new clothing and a present for my mom. I still need a new pair of jeans though because I'm down to 2 pairs. I have about $200 left now but I'm trying to save it.

In june/july though my term deposits are coming due and I will have lots of moniez and will likely buy a car since I don't have to use it for tuition now. Plus I'll be starting a summer job hopefully and working more hours so I will make some more money.

Berk 05-11-2008 02:07 PM
