Hello thread.

I went and saw Fantastic 4 last night, and thought it was really good. There was alot of people at the movie theater, which was unusual even for a Friday night.

NP: Nocturnus - Mummified
I did the same thing last night, and i agree, and also cant wait for a sequel, now that all the formal crap of them becoming superheros is out of the way, we can see just some quality fantastic four stuff.

Riva 07-23-2005 09:13 AM

Dr. Doom isn't nearly as cool as he should be in that movie. Honestly, where was the accent?

Taste_My_Scythe 07-23-2005 09:14 AM

I played the Fantastic 4 PS2 game with the kid I babysit last night. It was pretty cool. Easy, but cool.

Indeed! This movie it's fair share of action, so I can't imagine how much they could add into a sequel.

Riva: I was wondering that too!

Spotlight #13 is ready to go.

Cain, you might want to check these guys out. You might like the Celtic influence on their new material like Tree and the Longing for the Woods trilogy.

Shattered_Future 07-23-2005 10:07 AM

I thought Fantastic 4 was really pedestrian...but it was helped by the fact that Jessica Alba in a skintight suit was in it. :naughty:

I thought she was really hot in the scene where she had glasses on. I'm a sucker for blonde women with glasses. :)

Yea he definitely should've been cooler. They spent too much time on his transformation and not enough time on him pwning.

me too, it's the secretary thing I think...

Apocalyptic Raids 07-23-2005 10:33 AM

To be honest, I've never found Jessica Alba that attractive.

That being said, I wouldn't say no :D

Oh man, you need to watch Sin City.

I dont think that smokin is a strong enough word for her in that movie, and on top of that Sin City is an incredible film. So really, it is win/win

So, Loughborough owns for several things:

1) Albums I cant find anywhere (castle records ownage, Porcupine tree collection start :) )
2) Cheap acoustic guitars
3) Family drinking contests

Excuse my entrance, im in high spirits at the moment

clearvision 07-23-2005 12:36 PM

Alba looked amazing throughout. I thought the film was OK, but not one I would watch again too soon.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-23-2005 01:53 PM

All this Jessica Alba talk is reminding of our late-night AIM chats. :p

Ben, what PT albums did you pick up? I've only got Deadwing and In Absentia. Both make me go :amaze: I really need to get a hold of some of their earlier, more psychadelic material, but I'm really having troubles finding it anywhere.

Lunch 07-23-2005 02:08 PM

So, I just ordered 15 CDs from Amazon for my birthday.

Stoic 07-23-2005 02:10 PM

what are they?

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-23-2005 02:12 PM

I wish I could do that for my birthday. I usually get gift certificates to places that I don't even like. :(

My grandma gave me an electric shaver when I was 13.

Lunch 07-23-2005 02:12 PM

Typical purchase by me (classic rock). Stuff from the following bands: Donovan, Spirit, The Who, Rhinoceros, Crabby Appleton, New Riders of the Purple Sage, West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, Country Joe and the Fish, George Harrison, 13th Floor Elevators, Jefferson Airplane, the Electric Prunes, and Ten Years after.

NJMetalMeister 07-23-2005 02:20 PM

Meh, I was going to do my next artist thread because its the last chance ill get before my flight back to the states monday morning, but metal archives is down :(

Maybe itll come back up within the hour.

Stoic 07-23-2005 02:24 PM

It'd better come back

/loves Justin's FAs

should I say series instead of FAs? I suppose...

Permanent Solution 07-23-2005 02:36 PM

I have an FA in the works for here and for pop-punk...I feel so contributive.

Lunch 07-23-2005 02:40 PM

I wanted to do more FAs, but I heard there was a long line of people waiting for them, so I decided to join the fad and start a series.
Nobody looks at my FA's... :upset:
Don't worry, there's plenty of time for that when you're older, son.

i am the robots 07-23-2005 02:57 PM

That's because nobody actually thinks you are Moses...

Moses 07-23-2005 03:00 PM

**** I thought I had you all fooled what with the picture and stuff.

Somebody called me that a while back when I had my screenname as letmypeopleho.

i am the robots 07-23-2005 03:02 PM

Haha, that's great man, you had me for a little bit, but then I relized: Moses doesn't have the internet!

Stoic 07-23-2005 03:04 PM
Just a few people look at my FA's... :upset:
Fixed! You've picked a hard/unpopular (classical) theme but you ought to go on for these people. Same with Justin. Remember what Steerpike said, it took a while until more people got to look at his series.

Moses 07-23-2005 03:10 PM

Yeah I know. It looks worse than it did before though because my last two did better.

Stoic 07-23-2005 03:18 PM
Yeah I know. It looks worse than it did before though because my last two did better.
People who do series spend a lot of time on them (one hour at least) and sure it's not the best thing not to get many replies. I would start a technical metal series too if I was sure about people's responses (does anyone besides me care?) and if writing in english didnt take me me THAT long.

Lunch 07-23-2005 03:23 PM

I like people to notice my threads, comment, maybe even download some songs and all that. But also part of me just enjoys writing it up and learning more about the bands myself, especially in the summer when I don't have much school work to focus on. I like writing about things I enjoy, in this case classic rock bands, and I think my threads benefit me and hopefully some other people in R&M.

This is quite encouraging, I hadnt thought of it this way :)
