Its Cobert, stop lying.

cobert 08-12-2007 11:39 PM

Well my sister started calling me cob when I was like 8, she doesnt anymore though. Some other people still call me it, but most people call me Rob and some people call me Bob.

santi3hg 08-12-2007 11:47 PM

W3rd.

Some people called me Ashanti...I hated it.

br3ad_man 08-13-2007 02:50 AM

should I go and see The City on Film on Sunday night?

Concubine 08-13-2007 03:28 AM
should I go and see The City on Film on Sunday night?
funny you mentioned that, i can't decide if i should go or not either. I've heard like 2 songs from them, and they were okay. But they have the dude from Braid so i feel like i should go. Uhhh

br3ad_man 08-13-2007 05:44 AM

Yeah and plus the supports are really good.

cbmartinez 08-14-2007 12:14 PM
Everybody there was pretty short so in the crowd this one kid got his neck wedged against my elbow and kept essentially tapped out until I noticed and said sorry.

cobert 08-14-2007 02:09 PM

Everyone has that shirt but me.

I saw a Crass shirt in Hot Topic the other day. LOL.

cobert 08-14-2007 03:20 PM

ROFL BRO I HAD THAT SHIRT A LONG TIME AGO

And yeah I know, they're pretty buttcrack now.

pixiesfanyo 08-14-2007 03:21 PM

Yeah, I have my hoodie from 8th grade and it is really ****ing weird that coheed have been around for six years.

cobert 08-14-2007 03:34 PM

Yes it is.

I made a Get-Up kids thread over in pop-punk, if any of you guys dig on them.

Anxious 08-14-2007 03:36 PM
Saw Maps and Atlases and Fall of Troy last night. Everybody there was pretty short so in the crowd this one kid got his neck wedged against my elbow and kept essentially tapped out until I noticed and said sorry. Then later I saw the kid at In n Out and apologized. But then I threatened him. hahaha he was freaked out. The wack thing about Fall of Troy is that it's just the singer/guitarist deciding to be a rock star and super self-indulgent and bombastic. The other 2 musicians don't do crap. They just stand and play their isntruments.
Where in California do you live?

pixiesfanyo 08-14-2007 03:49 PM
Where in California do you live?
Bay Area.

I love getup

santi3hg 08-14-2007 03:51 PM

Nice work Cobbie.

cobert 08-14-2007 03:52 PM

If you like music, you like The Get Up Kids. Even if you haven't heard them before, you like them.

iamrockzorz 08-14-2007 04:36 PM

The song ten minutes was in this video we always watched in spanish class.

That class sucked.

cobert 08-14-2007 05:38 PM

Seriously?

Thats kind of awesome.

iamrockzorz 08-14-2007 08:58 PM

Yah, it played over the credits. I have no idea why...

Their name was also mentioned in the credits so i checked them out. I have to say, probably the weirdest way i've ever gotten into a band.

cobert 08-14-2007 09:39 PM

Listening to it, I can imagine it didn't seem out of place.

iamrockzorz 08-14-2007 09:44 PM

It was really fckin cool. The class was one of the worst experiences of my life though. I learned nothing. Except that i liked the get up kids.

cbmartinez 08-14-2007 10:48 PM

Nick, that's why I didn't care for fall of troy when I saw them, the singer is so pretentious

Eliminator 08-14-2007 10:51 PM

he is rock and roll

pixiesfanyo 08-14-2007 10:53 PM

he plays crazy guitar.
NOICEEEEEEE. I still wear it even though I outgrew it. I bought all of my sentimental band t shirts when I was 6'3" 155 and now I'm 6'4" 200 so none of them fit anymore but I wear them anyways :(
Yousa big motherfucker.

This guy I know hooked me up with all kinds of cr00sh tunes. He asked me what type of hardcore I was into and I told him how I like fsat youth crew type shit, so he started downloading all kinds of stuff that I had a vague idea of the band but never really listened to.

He showed me The First Step. Band rules.

pixiesfanyo 08-15-2007 02:09 PM

Anyone like Hollow Jan?

cobert 08-15-2007 06:39 PM

So they didn't actually break up? Cool, I'll try and see them sometime. Did you check out To The North (the band you missed opening for Envy) at all? I'm seriously thinking they're one of the best bands in Brisbane since, I dunno, Sekiden or IHH or something.

Concubine 08-15-2007 08:41 PM

i don't think so, all i knew was that they lost a guitarist. After that i havent heard anything from them.

Yeah i checked out To The North, i dig. Any idea how much the ticket for City On Film cost?

br3ad_man 08-15-2007 09:42 PM

Pretty sure it's 20 or somewhere in that vicinity. I dunno if I'm going to go. It'd be about the fourth show I go to in the space of a week, which ends up being a lot of money.

Are you going to Mono?

Concubine 08-15-2007 09:51 PM

neither am i just because its on Sunday and im not sure how im getting home after the show (no late buses ftl)

Yeah im going to Mono, are you?

br3ad_man 08-15-2007 09:57 PM

Yeah, Brisbane fails at public transport. I can't get trains from home even though I live 10 mins walk from a station because the last train on weeknights leaves at 11:20 and weekends is something like 12:40. Buses are crap too, there are way too few. I don't mind driving, but I don't have a car and so when my parents need to use their car (doesn't happen much, but still), my only option is either don't go or stay with relatives for the night.

I'm definitely going to Mono, looking forward to that a lot.

Luxor 08-16-2007 08:59 PM

got a macbook today. sick buzz. no music though, going to have to start again from scratch.

iamrockzorz 08-16-2007 09:49 PM

RetiredAt21 08-16-2007 11:06 PM

Yo, Dfel. I uploaded two uber elite black metal albums in the GOATVOMIT 666 THREAD. :)

br3ad_man 08-16-2007 11:40 PM

Kickass, La Quiete are touring Australia in October.

(Brisbane shows on the 24th and 25th)

santi3hg 08-17-2007 12:29 AM
